I'm also still here, but can't speak for the others. We haven't heard from DM in a little while, but it might be worth sending him a direct PM and checking if he is still around.
I'm just going to drop this (at the moment) very basic framework of the sheets I intend to complete over the next few days. Very WIp right now, but its just so I can see my progress as I update it:
/////Name: Hell

////Subject: Planet

///Location: Alpha Centurai

//Geography: The closest planet to Alpha Centauri, at a temperature of 1200 degrees celsius and an orbital period of four days. Despite being only slightly larger than earth, the planet is completely hostile to human life. The planet’s atmosphere is being constantly flayed by the star it orbits, there is no solid surface other than lava and the radiation levels are extreme. However, the cold side of the tidally locked planet is the perfect temperature for the formation and support of an ingenious rock superstructure that spans for tens of miles in every direction; even tens of metres below the surface lava layer of the planet. This strange structure, colloquially known as ‘Limbo,' is said to be home to the elusive and fearsome ‘Berith's Hellions’ rebel group, granting them shelter within it’s massive span of caves that provide vital protection from the inhospitable elements above.
/////Name: Elysium

////Subject: Planet

///Location: Alpha Centurai

//Geography: Elysium is Alpha Centurai's Water World. The entire surface is covered an a single super-ocean that reaches a maximum depth of 236km, far exceeding the depth of the oceans of Earth. There is very little solid ground to speak of, any that exists are simply the result of mantle anomalies that cause jagged and jutting icebergs to protrude from the water surface, from the exotic ice mantle itself. These icebergs can reach many hundreds of metres above the surface, but are too steep, small, and rough for any Human habitation.

/Fauna: Elysium is number to a multitude of bizarre and unusual creatures. The majority of these are ocean-dwelling organisms, though some airborne creatures exist, using Elysium's jutting ice structures as nesting grounds and places of respite. Some of these strange animals include:

Hyporia macrovorare or 'Sheet-Feeders' are small, nearly microscopic creatures that have spheroid bodies and a ring of nine, short tendrils circling their bodies. They have, strangely, two mouth-like cavities lined with a set of hundreds of tiny grasping mandibles. These mouths can be found on either side of the tendril line that crosses the Sheet-Feeder body. These creatures display an unusual behaviour when large quantities come together: they align themselves and grasp on to the tendrils of their neighbours with their own; this happens in massive numbers, the result being a huge sheet of tiny creatures that filter the water for particles of nutrients.

Scapanorhyncha titanicus or ‘Titan Sharks’ as they are known by the maritime hunters of HEAVEN’s more questionable upper echelons, are gigantic aquatic predators that stalk the mid-light levels of Elysum’s oceans. As far as they have been documented, they exist across the entire super-ocean, acting as an apex predator for the entire giant ecosystem below the surface. They are over twenty metres long after reaching sexual maturity, with long, slender, and sleek bodies which carry them through the water at frightening speeds. Their rows of needle-like teeth have spawned a host of nightmarish tales involving these elusive and ferocious predators.

Pagaphilia umbarium or ‘Shadow Gulls’ are similar, but in a way vastly different to birds on Earth. While they have a roughly similar body shape, their bone structure (or lack thereof) varies significantly. Shadow Gulls actually have an external exoskeleton which is layered in chitin-like sections which can move over one another with extreme fluidity. In addition to this, their ‘feathers’ are rather a thick mass of macroflagella which all waft and wave in a certain direction to add force to the flight path of the Gull.

Aurelia caelum or ‘Drifters’ are perhaps the most bizarre of Elysium’s fauna. They are most reminiscent in composition to jellyfish, with several major differences, namely: while a jellyfish has a relatively simple body shape, the Drifters can have extremely complex geometry that only gets more so with age. Second of all, they are air-borne. Trapping oxygen in their bodies allows them to float, and they do so in massive colonies that are a truly awesome sight to behold.

/Atmosphere: Largely CO2, O and H20 Vapour. Trace amounts of other gasses.
///////Name: HEAVEN (Holy Ecclesiarchy And Venerable Elysian Nobility)

//////Subject: Faction

/////Location: Elysium

////Government: Ecclesiarchal Dictatorship

///History: The nation of HEAVEN is a relatively new establishment, though the current leadership caste often insists that HEAVEN is eternal, and has always been. The original voyage to Alpha Centurai saw the foundation of a very different nation upon Elysium, one that was constructed entirely upon floating, domed cities that drifted on the currents of the planet; the name of this precursor nation has since been eradicated (or lost, as the nobility caste of HEAVEN will convince you). It is generally accepted that the original colonies of Elysium were led by a man named Harlan Egris, a designated colony leader and an integral part of the NAU's extrasolar colonisation committee. The colonies were run through a mostly democratic system (with an advisory council for good measure) with a huge focus on education and research; and excelled in their designation for a time. The Solar War, however, radically changed the fate of Elysium: when contact with Sol was lost, one of the upper advisory council families began to accuse Egris of being an abomination and a spiritual threat to the people of Elysium. At first, the wild accusations were given little credit, but as they persisted, they gained popularity and credibility within the colonies of Elysium. The rumours concluded with a short but violent coup de'tat. Egris was executed, as was his advisory council on charges of Heresy and Crimes Against God, and the Elohim family took full control of Elysium and it's colonies with the full support of it's populace. They established themselves quickly as eternal rulers of the planet, declared themselves Gods among mortals and founded the extant nation of HEAVEN in place of the colonies.

//Culture: How an individual is treated and how he acts in HEAVEN is entirely dictated by their place in the hierarchy: the majority of the civilians fall into the lowest class, and they are widely regarded by other nations within Alpha Centurai and Sol as an oppressed populace, though they are often blissfully unaware of it themselves. They are convinced that they must work tirelessly for their masters in order to gain access to an arbitrary 'Promised Land' upon death. HEAVEN is presented as a utopian society, supposedly with no crime and with art in abundance; the sad reality is that all criminals are brutally executed without trial and Elysium 'art' is mostly imported from other cultures secretly, giving the oppressed populace the illusion of freedom.
The upper caste of HEAVEN, however, lead far different lives. They engage in hedonism copiously, and you can often ring them atop their personal silver spires in the cities, hosting orgies and drinking themselves to blackout on the finest wines, taking part in frighteningly sadistic activities and ritual killings. Their self-indulgence knows nearly no limits; they never have to work as all of their needs are met by the lower caste who work themselves to death for no pay, simply because they are misguided by those who claim to guide them.
While the Elysium colonies before the onset of HEAVEN were domed, the new leadership has seen a few drastic changes to this paradigm. The domes have since been removed, and the populace have been forcibly (often at great pain and expense) modified to be capable of filtering oxygen through the thick, steamy atmosphere. The city of Eden has also been recently constructed, serving as the pride and joy of the Elohim family.

/Technology: Teachnology of Elysium has always had it's roots in art and aesthetic. It is less functional, but more designed to impress and convert. Military technology focuses on intricate armours and ostentatious laser weaponry. These assets do little in practice, but HEAVEN knows that to win a battle, the enemy simply needs to believe that you are capable of more than you are.
/////Name: Berith’s Hellions

////Subject: Organization / Faction

///Location: Hell

//History: The Hellions are a shady, dangerous, and outright frightening group of rebels and defectors from the society of HEAVEN. Most have roots in the lower caste, but a select few broke away from the upper caste, disgusted by the lives they were choosing to live. Stories tell of warriors as fierce as demons descending from the sky, borne of Hell itself, to wreak havoc upon their brethren in Elysium. The truth is, however, that the Hellions are simply advocates of freedom; a group composed of those who see past the oppression of HEAVEN and are willing to do anything to push past the veil that it has so cleverly placed upon itself.
The Hellions were formed and are still led by one Berith Hellrunner (by birth Berith Egris), the child of Harlan Egris, the leader of the original colonies of Elysium. After his execution by the deposing forces of HEAVEN, he and his mother fled off-world in search of sanctuary, but could find none within reasonable distance of Elysium. For a time they seemed doomed to die alone, drifting between planets of Centurai; it was only by sheer luck that in a last ditch effort, scans of the cold side of Hell revealed an igneous superstructure that seemed suitable for habitation, albeit barely. Other fleeting supporters of the Egris family soon tracked and discovered the frightened mother and child in the structure now known as Limbo and made it their goal to set up a suitable sanctuary within. This base of operations becomes home to the Hellions years after, when Berith was old enough to fend for himself.
It is said that every year, the Hellions descend to Elysium to pull away worthy individuals from the oppressive society of HEAVEN to join their ranks. Nobody really knows if this is myth, or hold some credit, however...

//Culture: The Hellions exist almost entirely on a bond of brotherhood and fellowship, only staying together through both necessity and mutual hatred of HEAVEN. Their rudimentary base of operations in Limbo is constructed entirely of salvaged materials and technology, making it both rag-tag and diverse in terms of application and aesthetic. Limbo is separated into four main sections: the Recreation Chamber, which holds both (obviously) recreational facilities and living quarters for the Hellions, the Armoury, The Hangar, and the Command Centre.
The Hellions are a rough, worn down lot. Often cynical and usually spiteful, they still believe in doing what is right but they do it only because they themselves have been wronged. You will not often find heroes among their ranks — only those willing to do what is right for the wrong reasons.

/Technology: The Hellion’s Technology is a lot more functional than that of HEAVEN. Some would consider it rudimentary, but the Hellions know that their bullets and explosives get the job done in a far more reliable sense than any energy weapon ever did. They favour high powered sniper rifles and sub machine-guns for when things get hairy, they like to take their targets out from afar with a no-hassle, smooth, and brutal operation. They are masters of stealth and distraction, and often they are long gone from the field of battle before you can even react to their sabotage. Their squadrons are small and few, and their dropships may be limited in number, but you can count on the almost infinite spite of the Hellions to get a job done to a higher standard than most professional militaries.

I might make a character from an unstable earth region, not to be associated with any specific faction.

Well, if I can join, I call from the '[Desert world]'!

>:)

Do it.

I'm interested, if there's room. This seems really cool, but I'm confused about why this has to be a strategy game? Why not just an RP?

Specifically, the GMs request it not be played like a strategy game. A lot of NRPs fall into that style of play, while this RP intends to actually be played like an RP.
I'm taking Centurai's Water World and Hell.
I think it is the way it is because the plot demands it. AB and Iso have stated in the chat that hard science will not deviate the predefined plot in ways like this; and they came up with a whole host of reasons as to why Venus was terraformed and not Mars. namely, it's because Venus stayed out of the conflicts and had the resultant resources to fully terraform itself.

Or something.

In other news: AB and Iso, can I do some world building on a few other bodies in the RP universe if they're separate from my faction/s? I want to make a moon (Possibly in Centurai or Sol) into a lawless, outlaw, renegade, wretched hive outpost. Think Tortuga or Tatooine. I think we could definitely make good use of a setting like that.

Yay, DM's back!Also, been thinking of fleshing out the Teu's NS more thoroughly. Everyone else's seems a lot more intricate and really well done, makes me want to try to do more with them :P

What did you have in mind?

Ok guys. Finally back online with a computer. I've been reading all the posts with my phone though. If there's any immediate matters please Pm me. I'm posting an Ic post tomorrow. I said I was going to put my all into this rp and this computer related speed bump isn't going to stop me. Thanks for the patience.

Welcome back, Sparkmatter.
He does if it's grabbed his interest more than once over ;)

But yes, i'm now officially laying claim to Alpha Centurai's Water World and Alpha Centurai's Hell.
