Name: Kumiko Suzuki
Age: 16
Appearance: Mana Crystal: A small, plain silver keyring always on her personal. The gem within is an olive-green colour, taking the shape of a bullet in her magical girl form. It hangs off her hunting rifle barrel.
Virtue: Patience, they say, is a virtue. In Kumiko’s case, it had a very long pay-off, but it brought the greatest joy she has ever known.
Magic: - •Perfect Shot: Kumiko’s Hunting Rifle cannot fire unless it is scoped and stationary. The longer she stays still -and- scoped, the stronger the shot. (Max damage at 60 seconds)
•Snap Trap: Kumiko may place down 3 at a time, resembling bear traps. Anything caught in these traps takes additional damage from magic.
•Camouflage: The longer Kumiko stays still, the less magic she resonates, reducing her likelihood of being discovered. Firing a shot from her rifle cancels this.
History: Born into mediocrity, Kumiko was a listless child. Not feeling pretty enough to play with the girls, but not enjoying the rough and tumble of boys, it was safe to say Kumiko lacked friends. She could recall her mother informing her that if she waited, she’d find more friends in High School.
Perhaps it would have, if not for her other quirks. Not particularly social or friendly, Kumiko dragged her feet through classes, and met every hello and how’dya do was met with ‘Hmmph’s’ and ‘Fine’s. It felt as though nothing could motivate the girl, nothing was fun. Until her parents insisted, she become involved in a hobby. She tried many, art, judo, horse riding… all of them taken for a day and then abandoned. Eventually, with a class-mates birthday as catalyst, Kumiko was cajoled into paintball. Sitting alone in a hedge with a rifle, Kumiko felt as empty as ever.
Until she saw a class mate wander out of the brush ahead. She took a shot, she missed.
She loved it.
Waiting, as her victim searched for the source of the misfire, everything came flooding to her. A fire she’d rarely felt before, tight knots in her stomach that filled her with dread and joy. Shaking, she aimed down her scope again. It took 10 minutes for her classmate to wander back into sight.
It was worth every second.
Kumiko became near obsessed with this love of her life. Laser tag, paintball, but the king of them all was deer-stalking with her father. The preparation, the tracking of the animals, all of it coming together and culminating in a perfect shot.
How could she say no when a Keeper asked her if she’d like to hone her skills further? A Vice sounded like a much more interesting hunt, and she was promised to become much more proficient.. if she could be patient for her rewards.
