Giovanni assumed the squad 13 captain would take the recommendation to the head captain eventually so he took his leave from the Captains office and the barracks as a whole. He wasnt to sure about how long it would take or if it would even work since the recommendation is supposed to come from his own captain but ultimately it was up to the head captain to decide. And the head captain knew a majority of his progress and accomplishments because Gio wrote reports. With that in mind he focused on the task at hand. He needed to get everything together rather soon. Now that he had his taste of fresh air he could get back to work...

Has gio led aNY members? Yes...however I cannot say that it has ever been rp'd. There was only one mission between the year skip and week skip and he let koyo (kitsune) lead. He was spending time with squad 5 before he was apart of the it officially anyway sothey are well a quaint ed with him and he with them.

Can he be a captain? Absolutely, that was a goal I had for him and have been developing him accordingly. Initially he was going to rise in the kido corps then try to captain a squad but that would not have worked at all and he was a solo player pretty much so kurisa put him on squad five and unified them.

I'm not mad...in the slightest. I've been here since the beginning of the reboot on this site. I'm constant and consistent. So I went asking for a recommendation. Of its denied by the head captain, or contested by anyone else with good reason and It doesn't happen so be it he can try again later. He's got a ways to go before he gets to captain sure, but for the sake of what he wants for both squad 5 and the kido corps......and his side life occupation that I forgot about until just now... a lieutenant is what is preferred for his development as a character and a shinigami.

It's not that your wrong. Giovanni has taken the responsibility of the squad I tried to establish that in his post skip posts. Yes he loves him some kido corp. But the kido corps is in the process of being fully integrated into squad five as a separate group within the squad. So at this point his focus is the unity of the squad as a whole and not necessarily only the kido corps.

I did not mean for his introduction to come off as false. He leads squad five, I personally don't know any other way to establish that out side of paperwork and scheduling training exercises. And now updating records of the squad

Ok so in my own defence... Giovanni is the highestranked in squad 5. I operated under the assumption that only captains and lieutenants could give missions so I didn't havgo handle that.

Also in regards to his work. Prior to the year time skip he bothered the head captain and all that.. since the time skip however he has had a much more independent role. In speaking with kurisa it was established that the head captain lead the kido corps. And then that it wold operate under squad five.

In squad five it was his responsibility to make sure the two units blended well and created cohesion. Which he did.he handles most of the paper work for squad five responsibilities as well as maintains authority in the kido corps.

You are right Abi, he does not lead the kido corp, because we have no record of his rank there. But kurisa and I spoke around the time of the year skip and established that the kido corps coming out of complete secrecy and blending g with squad 5 was due in large part to giovannis efforts and work.

As for going to squad thirteen for the recommendation there is no captain or lieutenant for squad five. According to the OP rules for promotion go only needed a recommendation from A captain. Not necessarily their own captain. While in Canon it is required for it to be the captain of the squad...there is no captain of squad five.

Giovanni was shocked that it was so easy. "thank you sir, I will. but Unfortunately My squad does not have a captain nor a lieutenant. I manage most of the squads operations with the help of the other seated officers. I believe the recommendation would have to go to the head captain. " becoming lieutenant technically meant that he would be the acting captain so his work load would potentially increase. But it also meant that he would be allowed in both Lieutenant and Captain meetings as well. In terms of the work load he was positive he could handle it, especially the reports, those were rather simple to him. His proficiency with kido caused him to worry very little about the physical duty but wearing the squad 5 badge held a level of accountability that almost seemed suffocating. It was now officially more than just his squad and the corps, it was the reputation of both as well as the seireitei as a whole. oh and he would have to get a limiter too for when he went to the world of the living. If he ever went that is, something told him that that was going to change very soon though

Xyl Threw up portals as he was directed. Sending his people on their merry way. when he got the message that Sabertooth had potentially escaped he got excited. He opened a portal into a crowded cell block and fired into it, catching one of the released inmates. Though he closed the portal he still had control of the inmates mind. It must have been his lucky day because this one was a lightning rod. so he made the poor soul overcharge. the electrical explosion downed a lot of people but it wasnt enough to kill anyone... ok it might have been but it would have not really been on purpose so it didnt matter. with most of them down in the room He ported himself in with his hand on the trigger. Prison has a culture, there is always someone who knows everything, they tended to be the leaders in riots like this. so he just had to find the one that fit the bill. Not necessarily the biggest, but the one that was in the center of the biggest crowd, possibly one who didnt even bother to leave their cell. Bingo. when a body was pushed over by another one across the room Xyl knew he found his mark.

"oh yea Marco polo" he said just as the wall bursted open and the Juggautnaut was coming straight for him. naturally he opened a portal beneath him so he slipped under neath the behemoth "guuys... i got the Jujubean"

"If you dont mind me being straight forward, Would you please consider recommending me for the position of lieutenant of my squad? " He asked simply. There was no reason to beg the man so he didn't throw his credentials into the conversation. While he had accomplished a fair amount in his year a shinigami he was far from famous. He didnt want to be famous so that was fine by him. But right about now a little renown might have done him a little good. He was only asking the captain to consider recommending him, not to straight up recommend him. Chances were he would some how have to earn the recommendation, and naturally that was fine by him. Nothing was ever given in this society, everything was earned and he had come to appreciate that concept more and more each day.

Giovanni followed the guide. He was relieved to have actually gotten a response. He moved to knock on the door but he was invited in before he got the door. When he opened the door to approach the Captain the first thing he noticed was Fang. out of everything he was expecting to find in this place a Lion was not even on the list. It almost made him forget why he had come but he remembered well enough. "Captain Xang." he Bowed "my name is Giovanni Cain, Current 3rd seat of Squad five and acting commander of the Kido corps. Thank you for seeing me" he introduced himself politely with respect.
