Gio had to force himself not to roll his eyes "i believe you did not understand the question. we are not, relying on you, but expecting you to" he paused to think of a better choice of words than 'do your job' "to be a part of this squad. we have been making collective and individual strides toward strengthening ourselves since before the new head captain declared us all weak. you, as captain, are a part of this group, a part of this collective. role expectations aside, anyone here in a position to contribute, contributes. skills, techniques, wisdom, even cooking. so when i ask what are you willing to do to make us stronger im not just asking for take over our combat trainings. I am asking what will your overall contribution to squad 5 be?" Gio tried to sound as...casual as possible. But the answer would determine if he bothered to try to move the new captain. even though he knew it was pointless to try.

Giovanni watched the new captain introduce himself from the roof. Finally squad 5 had a captain, it was a bitter sweet moment. naturally it meant change, which Gio didnt really mind but the squad as a whole had been going through so many changes it might stress them. But on the good side it meant access to new training, so to speak. Gio had done the best he could up until now, working well within and sometimes beyond his limitations however now there was a captain to give that burden to. Whether or not it was a good thing, remained to be seen but time would just have to tell. Gio jumped down to the front of the crowd. "before anyone else challenges you, let me ask you this. my name is Giovanni cain. Third seat. what are you prepared to do to make us stronger? both squad five and the kido corps."

Gio quickly found himself finished and bored. so he went to the roof to laze. He still had enough time to train some more, even to take on another mission. He looked at the sky with loose interest. With everything thats going on, with everything thats happened, how did he find himself here. In just over a year he found himself th 3rd seat of squad 5. while intially he didnt really think much of the gotei 13 and only cared about the kido, he found himself enjoying his squad. The company of both squad 5 and the corps meant a lot to him. It was one of the driving forces. however it was a bitter sweet feeling. everything was made possible by the previous head captain. Gio suspected that soon enough the squad would come under investigation, or at the very least he would. As it was explained to him, the kido corps fell under the direct authority of the head captain until it was blended with squad 5. now it was still under the head captain but there was not an mediating entity. For the most part it was Gio. he had already questioned the members of the Kido corps, all were adamant that the previous head captain cared little for them, if at all. They expressed that they were only ever concern with their historic tasks and research's. Gio, given the state of things when he began his journey, was inclined to believe them. Once the Kido corp was an equal entity to the Gotei and the stealth force. Now the Gotei runs all of them, one way or another and the kido corps had deminished greatly.

"the new head captain was right" Gio said to himself "the seireitei has become weak. But even before that announcement, we were getting better. stronger. We have the farthest to go it feels like, but we will make it to the top. one way or another"

"rachel Yuzuri, It's nice to meet you. " Orion nodded "my name is Orion. This is Kiba. dont mind him too much, he isn't a talker. " HE introduced kiba since he figured he wouldnt talk. Orion was pretty sure he hadnt said a word since he arrived, just some nods and shared glances. But it was fine, at least Orion understood. Luckily with the new girl at the table she would soak up all the warm and fuzzy attention. Orion sipped his drink once more secretly devising a plan to get out of the inevitable conversation and away from the wonderful people. There were some events planed by the academy for the students however all of them were social events. Most of them were for incoming students to get them further acclimated to the grounds so it didnt really apply to him. However he had a backup plan. throughout his life he learned to always have a back up plan. He just needed to wait, and feign interest until it kicked in. so he took another sip.

im curious as to how these 'new' captains will come to the scene. will they be recently appointed to their positions or will they hold some sort of tenure?

Zero listened to gio speak and it seemed he continued to go around in circles about the same thing, it was really going nowhere...however Zero didn't need to even look at anything, he knew what had happened to Gio. "Let me put your mind at ease. Your memory of that time and interaction was erased by former Lieutenant Ryuu, he used a forbidden Kido that causes one to fall unconscious and erase a portion of their memory...that is why you woke up with some pain and also why you could not figure out what had happened. It is as simple as that...he needed to cover his tracks and could not be wasting his time when he had a betrayal planned...now...unless this other matter is truly urgent I do suggest you leave immediately before I turn you into my next experiment...and believe me...this next one will be very painful...I'm sure you do not want to be laying, strapped to a cold table while I cut you open slowly..."

Gio let out a sigh of relief, as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. The following threat barely phased him at first. Not until he registered it as one. "no...i'll take m leave. " he said with a smile "thank you." He left the squad 12 barracks but glanced back at it as he walked away. Maybe it was just survivors guilt but Gio couldnt figure out why he wasnt killed. a lot of people lost their lives in the betrayal. Gio decided it was best not to think about it, now that he had the story he didnt really care for the reasons. With that decided he turned and flash stepped toward the squad 5 barrack. more than enough had been accomplished for the day. He went into his office and took a seat, leaning back in is chair as he sifted through reports. there were less than usual since they started the new schedule. overall there was the same about but more spread out through the days tat it was easier to manage and not be overwhelmed.

Zero walked about the SRDI Building, accompanied by two other Shinigami who were explaining things to him "I understand...please chase that up. As for you...keep your eyes glued to that screen...I don't want you to miss a single thing..." As the two then nodded and bowed and made their way back Zero found himself face to face with an unfamiliar being. Zero looked at him, his eyes narrowing slightly as he looked him right in the eyes "What do we have here? My, My...those guards I hired are just awful, letting anyone into a place filled with such information...it's unforgivable..." Zero then pulled a list out his pocket and crossed two names off the list "That has sorted that out...now I can go ahead with that project now that I have the resources" Zero placed the list back into his pocket and looked back at Gio "Now what can I do for you? I'm a very busy man so please do make this quick...and make sure it's worth my time or you will become a part of my next project..."

"I..." Gio started to get right to the point but for some reason hesitated. "I was here three months ago, to speak with you. However it seems I never got the chance. Unfortunately my memory of that day is fragmented. I came here hoping to find out why. squad 5, 3rd seat, Giovanni Cain." the fact that he was actually speaking to a captain seemed completely surreal. he understood the mans frustration about a stranger being around such sensitive information but Gio probably wouldnt understand most of it at least not by glancing at it. On another visit he may have been interested but he had enough sense to go through the proper channels to such. After all he really didnt want to be part of any projects, experiments or anything of the sort.

"I remember, coming here, seeking you. then the next thing I remember I was waking up with a migraine on the floor in one of the hallways. " he explained. "while their is another matter i hoped to discuss with you, this one takes precedence for now, captain" I wasnt until he finished speaking that he realized that there was a 67% chance what he said could be interpreted as a consent to experimentation. Gio really only wanted him to check security footage if there was any..... Shit

It had already been a month since the seireitei got a new head captain. Central 46 was still in shambles. And everyone was trying to be stronger and stronger. Since then Gio had rearranged the training schedule of squad 5 in hopes to maximize efficiency despite their numbers. However Gio needed to be trained harder as well. So he took advantage of the current state of affairs and went to the Sect, to Train. The Eastern Branch of the Sect agreed to train him, and by train I mean shackle him with weight seals on his hands and legs and forbid him from using Kido as they ganged up on him.

Though brutal, it was only the beginning. The first few session were one on one or two on one fights in rapid succession and the people were clearly holding back. However by the end of the month, it was one against a dozen, with Shikai’s. It forced him to learn on his feet, and react. They drilled into him that there is more than technique in combat. Its cool to have some skills under your belt but it also helps if you make shit up on the fly. He also found out that a personal style was much more effective than an established or copied style. To this regard Giovanni practiced flying, since it was an ability granted to him in shikai it gave him an eclectic edge that he began to use as a part of his style. While he was grateful for the opportunity he wasn’t too fond of the fact that he wasn’t allowed to have the seals removed until after his training was done. Which meant he had to wear them as he trained with his squad and if he went on missions. It was a sweet release when they were removed, they method commonly used for speed and endurance training worked. He could honestly say 2 things. One fuck all of them. And 2, he was stronger for the training. He still had a ways to go in many things but he was able to talk away and further train his squad because of it.

Another method of training he used for training his men was Zanpakuto development. For those in squad 5 that had achieved their shikai on of their Zanjutsu days was dedicated to improving the use of their shikai. This involved fighting with the weapon, performing Jinzo, and even trying to creat a fighting style that worked for the weapon and wielder. It was here that he would take the steps to bond closer with his zanpakuto and encourage others to do the same. Bankai, would be the the ultimate goal of this procedure but it would be a long pursuit. A necessary pursuit according the new head captains standards.

Gio was slightly unnerved when he made it to the squad 12 barracks. upon entering he asked to speak with either the lieutenant or tha captain. Given the way things usually went, he wold probably be approached by the lieutenant. But that was fine this time around, as well as expected. Since the lieutenant was new he, or she, probably wouldnt know what happened to Gio but he should be aware of information regarding methods of betting ones self. However if he did get a chance to speak with the Captain of the squad he would have slightly different question. As he waited he glanced around the room hoping something might jog his memory. so far he was still drawing a blank.

what he did wind up remembering was why he had come to this place in the first place. He had wanted to speak with the captain about sharing research result. the Kido corps research could prove helpful so the R&D department and the R&D research would give squad 5 something to practice. in a sense he had came to ask to participate in field studies that might prove useful to both squads 5 and 12. He couldnt remember if he ever got the chance to ask it though. since nothing had come of it he probably didnt so that was something else he could ask while he was here. unless he gets a door shut in his face like at squad 6.
