"We can do that." Haruka said with a confident grin. Alucard yipped in agreement and then jumped onto her shoulder. "Take the time you need," her lips twitch into a smirk, "We trust you to get us home." she reassured then pointed to the ground between them. "We'll lead it to this area and try to overwhelm it's senses by bombarding it." she gave a cheeky laugh."We'll be back with your present." she said before she and Alucard flash stepped away. Interference and distraction was right up her alley in the grand scheme of things. She was confident that between Alucard, herself, and Yuurei Kishi, they could wrestle the Hollow to the spot.

Sinai Nodded and lept into the tallest tree. This way she would have a vantage point as well as the aerial advantage, unless of course the damn thing flew. Even if it did she was positive that their plan would work, with a bit of tweaking. It was up Haruka and Alucard now but Sinai figured they would be fine. She had no idea about either of their combat skills but they seemed confident in themselves so she would in turn hold confidence in them. Getting ready she calmed her nerves by breathing in the scent of nature around her. Slowly she reached for her zanpakuto and crouched, ready to leap into action.
it just makes earning the title more difficult. which is fine because its supposed to go to the most powerful kido user in the soul society. and if there weren't any others using kido it wouldnt really matter. especially since every time Juki addresses the masses it turns into a decree to make everyone train harder.
the title is the goal. and I am trying to pace him...kind of. while being mindful of the unofficial competition. I doubt there will be an actual competition unless someone else decides to contend for it. ultimately my confusion revolves around the masters and experts classification since its a part of getting him to that level. we've established that rank is based on power in skill. ok. and that, despite knowing the kido, should a non captain try a captain level kido it would be weak. that makes sense in most cases. But not if the shinigami is proficient. If i could blend the idea you and Zane put forth before about mastery with kurisa's id have a propostion. an expert in kido would be able to use one kido from "level" up with a power gap. a master would be able to use kido from the next level up efficiently. and higher level kido with a power-gap. so a Lieutenant who has mastered Kido would be able to use captain level kido with a power-gap...but it wouldnt be so pitiful. thats how i always saw it but since i never fully understood it, i stayed modest with kido levels.

But how does that work with zanjutsu? if they master Zanjutsu as a 4th seat will their Ryodan be shitty? even though its really a simple kendo downswing?
Shiro and Kido...dont really work. so i dont think Gio would have to compete against Shiro for the title of Grand Kido Chief. I'm not sure about Kurisu though, or Kaizo. I mentioned shiro for the sake of comparison in titles. Kenpachi is the highest zanjutsu title, flashmaster is the highest Hoho title, and Grand kido chief is the highest Kido title. hmm there isnt one for hakuda.

..I have a question...ok more of a Canon observation. Most captains and Lts are Kido Experts. mostly Lts. of the several listed Masters there was one Liutenant. but it was Hachi who was LT of the kido corps. i personally believe another Lt should be on that list but idk how current you are in the manga so i wont risk spoiling. so my question is, does your definition/ranking of Masters and Experts differ from the cannon or are they long similar lines? because the way you explained it in the OOC confused me.

The way I see it. a Zanjutsu master. can learn all the ways to cut people. but still be held accountable to the "when two spiritual pressures collide the weaker is repelled" Law of spirit energy. Its really only a matter of technique and skill. not necessarily power(energy)..that and its a title reserved for captains (and ichigo, renji and ikakku)

a Hakudo master can learn all the punches and kicks but presumably be held to the same law with the exception that damage becomes relative to the power distance. mastery is mostly based on the ability and skill to fight unarmed. you can put force and power behind your techniques sure but the main part of the style of combat is the body.

These two are somewhat self regulated and rely on technique. however at the same time they can basically be attained based solely on custom skills and rank (for zanjutsu)

Hoho is just speed without the help of zanpakuto abilities. and doesnt really apply to this issue. especially since all the hoho skills are captain level.

but Kido is limited to the amount of power the shinigami has, as well as their control. So a master would have to have suitable control as well as power to" use high level spells to great effect without an incantation, and use multiple spells in rapid succession" as the wiki describes a master. So there seems to be a imbalance in mastering Kido as opposed to the other two. its a harder road.

And i realized, I think im the only one taking the road. I dont know if anyone else took advantage of the Mastery plan. but because power is rank based so too is Kido. which brings me to my dilema. Gio is kind of Boxed in in terms of Kido. I had hoped, and still do, for Gio to be the Grand Kido Chief and of course its still far off. but its hard to gauge his progress in this regard. That’s really the thing that bugs me. I just want to know where he stands.

for the sake of comparison, we have the kenpachi. in my opinion its equivalent to the GCK in that it represents the pinnacle of a single method of combat. same can be said for Flash Master. while we dont have a flashmaster (kurisa was the closest i think) i dont think. we have a kenpachi who is a captain already so there really is no disputing the title, especially now. but for Gio he would probably have to contend with another captain for the title. im not counting Juki or the temp captains though. sorry for the length. i just had to get this out

"Absolutely. Ae strike fast, strike hard, and strike when it least expects us. I suggest hitting it from both the side and the back. I'll take the side. You attack when I do, your warning will be my shift in spiritual pressure as I activate my shikai. My joint attack with Alucard will draw its attention and, hopefully, leave him open to your attack. From there, keep hammering. If we need to retreat, we'll do so." she offered. "How does that sound?"

Verbally that sounded like a great plan, it was the follow through that was a bit shakey. "my only hard hitting move will take a moment to set up. If you can keep its attention long enough this should work." To be safe Sinai plan on using Cho-seji's Convergence ability, molding all her butterflies into one strong construct. but what she chose depended on the size of the hollow. If it was big she would need something big and sharp, Iike a Giant Axe and enough force to cleave it in one go. That meant attacking from above and using gravity. but if it wasnt so big, she could be a bit more modest in her execution. a large blade should work. This is what squad 2 was about, killing the enemy from behind while it focused on your ally. she could do this... she thought
Hey guys question. Im thinking of ways to develop Sinai's shikai. I'm looking at using her butterflies in formations to cause certain effects. but would the formations be a Skill per formation, or all the formations count as subskills of the Formation ability/skill?
Gio stood silently where most of his squad had congregated. the news was disheartening to say the least. While he didnt Know captain kuchiki at all he know the mans reputation. everyone did. As he listened his eyes drifted to where squad 6 had congregated. The lieutenant he had a small argument with not to long ago was in fact captain kuchiki's son. thats who he was looking for but just as he laid eyes on the man, he flash stepped away. Gio withheld a heavy sigh and looked back to the head captain. it didnt matter how many shinigami there were, the strength of the Gotei 13 lied in the captains. And they had just lost one of the strongest. captain Viole and now captain kuchiki. Gio scanned the crowd once more, finding easily the kenpachi. chances were he was the next strongest captain. His spiritual pressure felt different but perhaps it was because Gio hadn't been this close to him before. Regardless the squads were down another captain and everyone was being called to train even harder.
Sinai followed Harukas lead and nodded at her plan. Well begining of the plan. Would it be a frontal interception. Will they flank it. Or catch it from the rear. The element of surprise was key at this point. Especially with a roar like that. The first move might be the only move they get. if that was the case they should ambush it and not give it a chance to fight back. The issue with that plan was this damn thing sounded huge. "i think we should ambush it. hit it fast and hard, so it doesnt have time to recover" Sinai merely suggested. ultimately the decision was Haruka's and Sinai would comply either way.
sinai nodded. she didnt agree with most of this but it was clear she was not expressing her problem well. Because of that Haruka wasnt understanding. In the long run it didnt matter, now she was more focused on coming up with a plan. She assumed that since Haruka could sense the hollow from such a distance that none of the souls around here had a spiritual pressure that would lure the hollow in. She considered playing bait, given her youth and spiritual pressure but that the bullshit her clan tried to use her for and was a trip down memory road she needed to take. Haruka was worried about of strength of the hollow which was smart. But Sinai was worried about intelligence which was just as deadly as strength. she looked at Alucard wondering if the dog was worried about anything. "so do we move to intercept?"
