Why not drink some water than? It's good for you!
Dialog walked slowly, tensely and ruggedly over the rough, rocky desert looking around to find any sign of civilization.

He didn't.

They all were dead. Everyone in the town, massacred by some unseen demon. So he got out his gun.
A a History of Mankind - Up to year Zero

Humans are a species who historically orbited a G class star in the orion arm region. Humans developed rapidly from hunter gatherers to a space faring species in the span of seven thousand years. Humans are warm blooded sapient animals of mammalian descent that are upright walking and bipedal, and still are despite the dangers of space travel and having nearly gone extinct In the past three thousand years alone when their industrial society got so advanced they discovered nanotechnology a century too soon for their own good.

Their home world, earth is now but a massive, spherical grey blob where nothing lives due to simply being the size of countless nano machines who's current state is unknown (for now). The human race survived simply because there was twelve colony ships sent out as the nanomachines begun to slowly over the span of five decades eat away at the planet- solving the nanomachine problem using nuclear weapons and Electromagnetic devices only temporarily slowing down the technological cancer. So instead the typically individualistic human species collectively begun building ships that would transport tons of eggs and frozen people to distant worlds around the Galaxy believed to have life.

(Colonizing Mars being considered a stupid idea because many scientists feared the nanomachines may one day spread to Mars as well, the census among every human after the nukes didn't work as well as hoped being "get the fuck as far away from sol as possible")

Tragically only two thousand people were able to go on these ships, all of which having to be rigorously trained "colonials" who could properly manage everything on the massive ark-like ships and their vast DNA banks. For these ships will be going on a vast journey that will put humans on every corner of the Galaxy by the time we get to year zero. The humans back on earth kept desperately trying to kill the nano machines to little avail while others kept making more colony ships to go out to the other worlds of the solar system with more people, the humans on earth left perishing. How humans developed from the colonies shall be seen.

(TL;dr nanomachines nearly killed everyone so we colonized the Galaxy with twelve good ships- this means the hard limit on human civs is 12-13, however. Anyone who wants to be human can pick the world colonized and detail how that colony developed after. All the colonies started with over a hundred humans, have access to data records of numerous technologies (and how to build them) and a library of genes to seed a planet with over time. They also have some equipment, but the equipment was much less standardized than the gene libraries and archives.)
You always were allowed to post.

Just jump in.

Also made the history of mankind up to year zero and rigged human history so anyone who wants to be human can place themselves pretty much anywhere in the Galaxy they want.
Check my character in the character section.
I'll make a second post in the IC as a example post.

In this RP you write about some events/species and what they're doing on a macro scale and can also write on their culture, tech and so on. So this is kind of like multiple people collaboratively writing a encyclopedia galactica. You can make and kill off your civilizations, cultures and species as you will. You also need not make a sapient species. For instance I started this RP off describing a alien ecosystem of nebula dwelling creatures who are petty much the reason you and me exist (sometimes they touched a planet, spreading microbial life to it). That's distant history.

If you need a lead-in, simply use year zero to write about the history of what faction/Civ/Empire or whatever it is you want to be up to year zero (year zero in human time I may just have specified in my second post which will simply be a way to get humans around the place so people can have all the people they want).

In theory this RP may get to the point where multiple people may build off each other. it's basically a Sci-fi themed collaborative world building RP.

Collaborating with a pirate pad may be useful for when history starts getting more intertwined.

While the RP has lower standards than true vacuum (as this RP occupies a distinct niche from true vacuum) I may reserve the right to axe a post that breaks continuity too much. Also no fandom stuff, however archetypes (like greys) are tolerated.
Well at least no ones posting pictures.
Stupid robot get off this forum no one wants you here. Don't you have jobs to steal?
Year 0 - The origin of life

Some time, eons before there was a human or dinosaur, before there was the pleiades or any complex, planet-based life for that matter life lived not on worlds but in the depths of space. These early beings only nested at time to time on worlds, living a nomadic existence without any boundaries, barriers or limits. They thrived for billions of years, living out a simple existence subsiding on the light from stars and occasionally dropping to the planets that orbiting them to die. Many words in the early universe were seeded by these beings, the "Nebulous" being what they are termed collectively due to not being any one species but a galactic biosphere of floating, space entities who were the first complex lifeforms to arise in a galaxy full of life less worlds.

Their origins came from the nebulae, where over the first several billion years of our universe life slowly developed and evolved not in a mucky soup, but in the void of space. The Nebulous over time would spread life to other worlds not for some benevolent reason, but simply by accident. Simply because some of them got caught in a gravity well or because it was a Nebulous specimen that used worlds to hide eggs from more predatory beings. The number of scenarios being quite vast in a galaxy full of Nebulous entities. Given billions of years, the microbes left behind on some rocky worlds begun to thrive. One day making you and me. As for what happened to the Nebulous, no one knows. Their remains in current time fester about the galaxy, being no longer as widespread as they once were and only existing in a few pockets of the galaxy like Eta Carniae. Murdered or simply starved, the era of the Nebulous is long over by now. Now it is now the era of sapience.

And that is where the story of the galaxy begins...
Welcome to galaxy maker.

Here is our galaxy:

Humans are somewhere in it, so don't fret human lovers- this is a depiction of our own galaxy.

Here you write about interstellar civilizations around the galaxy and interact with other interstellar civilizations on much more massive timescales than your typical RP. Every page in this RP is one century of time, but individual posts can take place at any time within a century.

You do not need a app to play, just go in and start writing about civilizations around the galaxy.

However, for your first post you are allowed to go through the history of your kind up to the year set at the start of the page.

Follow a specific species or make plenty that live sad, pitiful existences. Writing lore and detail on these civilizations is done IC only. OOC is just meta discussion. No need for character sheets here- you write the developments of your faction/s as you post.

There's a few rules.

Rule one, don't god mod (or start with god-like entities).

Rule two, no fandom (so no jedis, okay?)

Rule three, my word is law.

Add-on policies:

-Magic is discouraged
-FTL exists, but is "slow" (it should take you one thousand years to cross the Galaxy).

Other than that, RP guild rules up to the casual level of role playing apply here. You can write on a more advanced level if you choose.

How to play? Just start posting in the IC. Start with the origin of your species/faction and describe them however you want in the IC if you need a place to begin. Further developments will depend on where in the galaxy you want to be relative to other players.

Tech levels can be anything from cave men to early interstellar at the start, but you can join in as a more advanced civilization as the RP goes forward. If you want to be cave men, go ahead. Be cave men.
