Thats very generous of you, love. How've you been holding up?

It’s... been hard.

I do enjoy a good book. I'll have to look through it once things have quieted down. One of my favorites is suprisingly a young adult novel series by the name of Pendragon. Its about a boy who discovers his family consists of a long like of dimensional travelers that try to prevent a dimensional demon from bringing dimensions to their destruction.

I'm sure we have some like those. I'll ask Fairy Yellow to check what's available.

Thats interesting. It makes me happy seeing you enjoy something so thoroughly.

You should visit the library sometime. There's sure to be several books that you would like.

I'll look into it later. I was merely trying to spur discussion.

I'm really invested into this one plot line though; that's what keeps me going. The protagonist has to rescue her father, who's being held on a train going across the globe.

Tropes? I mean, they exist for a reason.

*Rotates my arm at the elbow, holding the book toward you*
Do you want to try it?
<Snipped quote by Nimda>

What makes you think that she was written to like it? Were there any indicators?

She's written to fall in love with him, so the tropiness isn't hurting her at all here.
<Snipped quote by Nimda>

Hmm.. well, for one, it depends. Maybe that situation doesnt work for you, but how does the main character feel about it?

She was written to like it. But that's just bad writing.
<Snipped quote by Nimda>

Hmm... how so, if I may ask?

It's all just far too obvious and has no amount of subtlety. Why even have a love interest if he exists to do nothing but prop up the main character?
<Snipped quote by Nimda>

The deuteragonist setting things up to make the main character look good. Maybe it's intentional? And act of love perhaps?

Maybe. But it's done poorly.
