It only makes you immune to the channeling process. If you hit someone with an ice missile, they’re going to feel it. Magic has been around longer than Lily has.

Magic is naturally destructive in our world. If you pump magic through objects, they break. If you push it through yourself, you get magic poisoning. Everyone is born with some amount of mana that counteracts the destructive effects of magic.

The goal of every spirit always seems to be becoming a Superior Spirit. Lily could probably tell you more about that than I can, but it breaks the mold of the world’s natural balance, and nobody’s sure if they exist.
