The small white cat jumped out of the water straight onto the docks of Arunin. Nya has been tracking the coastline for quite some time now and this was the third or fourth major town she ran into, the towns helped her to find out that Humans use creatures similar to Markava as pets, as well as provide useful insight into the two-legs language, as the one she's been taught was very... outdated. This town was lively, but not much different from the other towns she's seen.
The very word "town" was confusing and hard to pronounce though, there was no equivalent for it in the Markavian language and because of this Nya had to use the two-legs word even when thinking, it meant something like "A place where a lot of people live" and the closest thing to it would be a Group. Two-legs Groups however, for some reason. didn't move.
There were quite a lot more strange things about two-legs, she was confused why they grew plants around their cities until she realized they can eat such things, They also burn their food before eating it, a thing they called "cooking", there were a lot more oddities about two-legged creatures, but there were too many to mention.
In any case Nya headed down the dock, getting a fish or two from the fishermen who mistook her for one of their pet animals, she gratefully ate the fish, of course, it would be rude to do otherwise. She quickly made her way into the actual town, as usual it was bustling with activity, however the two-legs left her alone so long as she didn't try to communicate with them. She knew very well where she was headed, a two-legs, a member the species that call themselves Humans, taught her a lot about their culture and told her, amongst other things, that if one wants to learn about a town, its people or general happenings, he should head to a tavern.
Of course Nya couldn't quite read the Human language yet, the letters were far too rigid and separated, so she usually used a different strategy to find taverns, follow her nose. Soon enough she did indeed find one, taverns weren't really the cleanest establishments, in fact, no Human building could compare to a Markavian Ice lair, partially because there is only ice on Austrina.
The tavern smelled somehow sour, it was a weird and unknown smell, but Nya has met with so many new smells in the past few weeks that it was hard to believe, the cat-like creature jumped onto the window board, and then inside, running over to the counter and jumping on one of the tall chairs. She then put her paws on the counter and asked the bartender.
"Herrrrrrro~ Human. do you serrrrve the drrrink you call milk herrre?"
The waiter was quite surprised to the fact a cat just spoke in front of him, but business was business.
"... Its not on the menu, but sure, if you have the money."
Money was another of the terms Nya had to grasp when she arrived in the two-leg lands, they rarely shared anything and always required something in return for food or services, usually favors, goods or... money.
Nya did in fact have some of the local currency, however due to a lack of pockets she usually kept it shrunk to minimal size somewhere within her fur, she now retrieved one of these hidden coins, returning it to natural size in the process, and put it on the table.
The bartender picked up the coin, looked at it for some time, but then shrugged and put it together with the rest of his earnings. He then went into the back room, which Nya presumed was a kitchen., and returned with milk.
Milk was a delicacy in Austrina, it was incredibly hard to milk a seal, however here it was ridiculously common, Nya yet had to find out how or why, since she didn't see any seals.
The cat jumped on the counter, causing the bartender to give her a sour look, Humans didn't like pets jumping on their desks, and started drinking the milk out of the provided cup. She also took time to examine the people in the tavern, they were mostly ordinary folk, but she could see few of those people with weird scents, adventurers, two-legs called them, people who travel around the world, searching for riches or maybe something else.
How similar to what she is doing now...

You've already established that, at the very least, you character "tends" to catch small animals. For example, a Fairy tantalizingly fluttering before her face. I have a kitten, I know how a cat would react to something like that, especially if it tried to play with it.

A fairy is clearly not an animal. It's an intelligent being, the Markava can control their basic impulses more then good enough not to kill something that is obviously intelligent.
And looks so cute.
Tatsua Aiisen said
It's more that Cats quite literally preyed on innocent Fairies, and they responded with deadly, organized force.

Too bad Markavians are not cats. They eat Fish, and in 99.9% of cases fish.

As a cat that is 670 years old, there is almost literally no way she could not have been in some way effected by the Fairy/Feline war. Also if you don't mind me saying, people should probably at least spellcheck their sheets.

As I said, if the Faries attacked the Markavian, it was not a war, but a slaughter, the Markavian couldn't nor would try to mount an effective resistance, messages take months to arrive between groups. Plus their magic has very little combat applications.
So yeah, are Fairies genocidal?
Also the only mistake in the text there was is now fixed for your convenience.
Tatsua Aiisen said
Unfortunately for them, Fairies don't like to obey laws like distance or logic.

They would stare at the fairies for a few seconds, wave them hi, and then move on with their business, utterly ignoring them.
Except for those few curious ones, they would try to establish contact and all.

EDIT:
KITTEH INCOMING!

Name: Nyaa'fhr
Age: 670
Race: Markavian
Country of Birth: N/A (Markavian)
Country of Origin: N/A (Markavian)

Appearance:

Bio:Nyaa'fhr (Nya for convenience) was born on the top of the peninsula known as Crescent Moon. The Crescent Moon Markava specialized in ice magic, even more so then the rest of their species, however Nya showed disinterest in ice magic since young age, only bothering to learn the basics.Because of this her group sent her to another group, the Subterranean Hope. The Subterranean Hope lived in an active volcano, dwelling in empty lava tunnels, the group specialized in unorthodox types of magic such as fire, lightning, erbae(Plant), and necromancy. But also many more. Nya enjoyed her time in the Subterranean Hope and she quickly learned as much as she can. When she was taught all they could teach her, they pointed her to an island called Crystal Outpost.
Crystal Outpost was an island about 50 kilometers north from Austrina, and including the trip from Subterranean Hope and her slow moving speed it took her several months to reach it. Crystal Outpost was the only place where a Markavian could meet a His'Fhr, two-legs, Humans.
There Nya was taught some new imported types of magic, such as healing, wind and light magic, along with the language of the His'Fhr, she also learned of engineering, the skill His'Fhr used to supplement the lack of their magical abilities. This skill intrigued her, and she decided to learn more of it. For this purpose she decided to swim over the great Ocean, of course not from Crystal Outpost but from Crescent Moon, which was the most pointy part of Austrina. From there Nya swam north (It might have even taken years, no biggie, Markava have time), until she finally saw lights on the horizon one night, she finally reached her goal.

Personality: Nya is eternally curious, and quirky, her interests shift faster then the wind besides for her eternal obsession with Human engineering. As every cat she tends to sleep a lot and everywhere. She also tends to catch small animals.

Also, more Cats, Shooting Star is going to have a field day. By the way, Noct, we should probably discuss the fact that as a sentient race of cats, your people were probably involved in the war between cats and fairies in ancient times.

They didn't see or know noting, they didn't even know the rest of the world existed until 50-100 years ago. Nothing lives on Antarctica besides them, foxes, seals and fish.
Plus, they are pacifists.
I just introduced a race of sentient cats.

This is totally partying.

Name: Markava (Felysian, Arctic cat)
(Markava is used strictly amongst two Markava, Felysian is used when introducing oneself to a two-legs and Arctic cat is how Humans who trade with the Crystal Outpost Markava call them, if there is any mention of their species in the rest of the world it would probably be by the name Arctic cat.)

Homeland: Austrina (Antarctica FTW!)

Country(s): N/A

Common Physical Features: The Markava look like your ordinary house cat, with the exception of small fingers they usually keep in a "fist" making their paws appear as ordinary as of any cat, they usually have white fur, but they are capable of changing its color over a period of an hour or two, the other difference between Markava and house cat is their tail, which is slightly longer then that of ordinary cats.

Common Physiological Features: The Markava have to eat very rarely, once every two or three months a Markava will eat two to three kilos of fish and move on, they are also very resistant to cold, being able of both surviving -70 degrees on the air and the subzero waters around the continent, a Markava can drink salt water without any problem.
The Markava also possess superior stamina, capable of running for days without rest, however this increases their food consumption and the Markava would have to eat more often. Despite living mostly an isolated and nomadic life, the Markava are far from stupid, each Markava usually has at least one hobby that could be considered intellectual, and the race has managed to develop both a spoken and written language without any influence from the outside world. The Markava are very few in numbers, on the entire continent there is no more then 500 thousand Markava, this is because they live for a very long time and have very few offspring over their lives.
The disadvantages of being a Markava are however obvious, no matter how talented, resistant or smart, a cat is still a cat, it is not uncommon for a Markava to become prey to the slightly larger Austrina foxes, an unintelligent species sharing their homeland. The Markava have no more strength then any ordinary cat.

Common Magical Features: All Markava naturally inherit Ice magic, in fact every Markava can use basic forms of it, this magic is used to create their traditional homes, someting like underground Igloos with several rooms. Besides this natural magic, Markava are capable of learning almost all kinds of magic, and if it werent to this compatibility the Markava would probably still be unaware of what fire is. Markava commonly use more then one type of magic, even though advanced Ice magic is the most wide spread type.

Other:
- The Markava have no country, simple, where they live there is no competition, food is plentiful and there is no resources, a need for a country never arose.
- A Markava is capable of living completely on the sea.
- The Markava have occasionally built ships out of pure ice.
Notes:
- Markavian names are usually combinations of sounds cats can produce, and they have no surname.
- Markavian groups (settlements) always consist of the same format: (adjective) (term), for example: Crescent Peninsula, Subterranean Hope, Crystal Outpost, Plentiful Lake, Splendorous Austrina (The traditional meeting place for the Markavian groups), Final Ending.
- Markavian settlements move over time, with few exceptions such as the Splendorous Austrina and Subterranean Hope

I on the other hand have a massive anti-tank gun, that might result in a rather bloody scene if she scores a headshot.
