Name: Ser Erwyn Rivers, a landless knight and a master-at-arms of Fairmarket

Gender: Male

Age: 32

Appearance: Ser Erwyn is about six feet tall, broad-shouldered man. He has long and thick arms. His hair is coloured dark brown. He has green eyes, and he would be noted as a handsome man, if he hadn't scars in his face, torso and arms. Erwyn also looks older than his years.

Personality: Ser Erwyn has seen what men can do to each other. He took part in the campaign against the Kingswood Brotherhood as a squire for a knight and fought in the Robert's Rebellion. He has a slightly cynical view on the world, and can be seen both as a sarcastic and an honest man. He is not without a sense of honor. Although he might not show it, he cares for the soldiers and squires who he trains and fights with. He doesn't crave or care for power, but wants to be a warrior to whatever end.

Pros and cons: Ser Erwyn isn't the friendliest man around, but spends some time gambling and drinking with a few friends he has. He is also ambidextrous and literate.

Biography: Born in 266 into the House Mallister as a bastard to Lord Jason's brother, Erwyn's prospects didn't look good, and he wasn't treated very warmly. His father didn't really care for him, and Erwyn mostly spent his time sparring in the training yard. He was given a better education than most, but not much else. At the age seven, he was assigned to Ser Gawain Hawkwood, a household knight as a page. During his early teen age, Ser Gawain and Erwyn moved to the King's Landing to find to a new master after Ser Gawain was released from Mallister service after they an argument over Erwyn's training. Erwyn often thinks that Gawain was a much better father than his real father.

At King's Landing, Ser Gawain entered the service of the Hand of the King, Lord Tywin Lannister and was sent to root out the Kingswood Brotherhood alongside many renowned knights and soldiers. Ser Gawain died after a bandit loosed an arrow at him, but Erwyn survived the campaign. He started to serve Lord Tywin, even though the man had a ruthless reputation. Erwyn followed Tywin to the Casterly Rock after his resignation as the Hand of the King. At Casterly Rock, Erwyn spent a few quiet years before the Robert's Rebellion started, squiring for a knight and rose to the rank of a knight.

When the Robert's Rebellion started in 284, Lord Tywin waited and finally made his move after the Battle of the Trident. He entered King's Landing as a friend and sacked the city. Ser Erwyn took part in the battle, taking a few nobles and knights as prisoners and ransoming them after the battle. After the war, Erwyn was dismissed from Tywin's service, and he traveled back to the Riverlands, finding himself in the service of Lord of Fairmarket. In 289, Erwyn took part in the Greyjoy Rebellion, fighting alongside Thoros of Myr. Ever since, he has spent a quiet life as the master-at-arms at Fairmarket, waiting for the next war.

Equipment: A set of steel armour bought from King's Landing and a boiled leather armour from Fairmarket, a fine-quality bastard sword, an oaken shield, travelling clothes and other garb.

Once upon a time, Jean took a jump into Nazi-occupied France in the Westminster League of Extraordinary Individuals. Currently he is organizing a resitance movement "the Cambronnetists" in Why We Fight? RP.

Height: 184 CM

Weight: 75 kilograms

Appearance: Jean is a lean man with an athletic build, and tall for a Frenchman. He has strong, coal black hair and green eyes, and a plain face. He has grown a black stubble.

Other Appearance: Jean has small scars all over his body from different accidents and military training.

Superpowers: Camouflage.

Jean has the ability to camouflage himself, his clothes and equipment to suit his surroundings. It doesn't make him invisible, but a much harder target to detect. Jean is like a human chameleon. He also seems to have keen senses, especially eyesight, but not extraordinarily high. Continous camouflage can leave Jean exhausted, and he eats more than a regular man, as his metabolism works more efficiently.

Skills: Jean has been trained by the British to act as a commando during his stay on the British Isles. He also served in the French Army during the Invasion, and thus has a wide knowledge on explosives, different weapons and tactics. He can speak French, German and English fluently thanks to his upbringing.

Jean has good knowledge of history, especially European history.

Personality: An easy going man and a gambler by an outside observer, but a thoughtful and serious man inside. He might joke when stressed, but also often focuses on the mission at hand.

Jean has been educated in many good schools, and as such can appear to be quite smart and appreciative of information. He is curious and perceptive. Thanks to his sniper training, he is a calm person and cool nerved when laying an ambush.

History: Born into a upper-class French family on June 6th, 1918, Jean was given the best education available at the time. Jean's father served as a junior infantry officer on the Western Front, and continued his work as a businessman. Jean had unremarkable childhood, but during his teens, Jean started to find himself able to camouflage himself. At first it wasn't very practical ability, but as the time went on and he got older, the ability grew stronger. He was using the skill to pull pranks on his friends. He has lived most of his life in Paris.

During his late teens, Jean became romantically involved with a Parisian singer named Emma d'Anjou - the surname being her stage name, but they shared many an afternoon in the Parisian cafes nonetheless. Emma and her family were secular Jews, and her parents were humble barkeepers. She often sang in the family's bar and in a couple other establishments. Emma was a pretty brunette with blue eyes, who dreamed of travelling one day to America, to start acting and singing in New York, but as her family wasn't very wealthy, she continued singing in Paris, hoping that some manager or agent might someday pick her for a musical or something similar. The couple broke up after an argument over Emma's dream to become a famous actress.

Some days, Jean passed his time playing cards with his friends, becoming good in a few card games and mastering a couple magic tricks. He also gained a taste for Calvados in his youth.

Before the war, Jean became a Corporal in the French Army, serving as a sniper. He could use his camouflage skill to blend with the environment and sneak upon his fellow soldiers. The officers were amazed by the skill of Jean, who didn't share his secret ability. Jean left the army in 1938 after his two-year service period. Jean attended university, studying history and archaeology for a year before the war broke out, and he was called back to the army. He took part in several battles and skirmishes, often working alone behind the enemy lines and evading capture multiple times. As France was invaded by the Germans, Jean managed to escape France by boat from Dunkirk as the BEF (British Expeditionary Force) was evacuated. He was able to capture a Parabellum pistol, but had to leave his French sniper rifle behind.

After arriving the British Isles, Jean revealed his power to an intelligence officer, and was ear marked for a special unit that was on the talks on highest levels of the government - the Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, better known as the Special Operations Executive. He was trained in sabotage, explosives, radio transmission and other fields of ungentlemanly warfare. In 1941, Jean was transferred to the Westminster League.

Henrik Karl Adler was a character ready to be used in the Warband: A Warhammer Fantasy RP. May Sigmar smile on his memory.

Age: 24

Appearance/Physical description:

Henrik is a young and muscular man with several years of officer training and campaigning under his belt. His face is a bit square and plain, and he has black hair and deep blue eyes. Henrik's body is marked with a load of scars, and his nose is bent, thanks to a nose injury suffered as a young man. Henrik's hair is cut short on the sides, and he has a stubble most of the time, as he sees himself free from the army regulations.

Practical Items:

- A steel bastard sword and a long steel dagger.
- A shield.
- A cavalry officer's plate armour.
- A plumed helmet with one long red feather.
- A leather backpack and a waterskin.
- Food supplies.
- Two flintlock pistols, black powder, holsters and ammunition.

- A few shirts and trousers, a wool shirt and half a dozen pairs of woolen socks.

Biography:

Henrik is a former imperial cavalry officer, who has changed his career path into an adventurer and a mercenary, seeking to avenge his company's destruction and redeem his failures. Henrik was born into a wealthy bourgeoisie family in Altdorf, and had ambitions in his childhood to become a famous general, but thanks to his common birth and family line, he was barred from entering higher ranks than Captain. Henrik entered the army at the age of sixteen.

In his youth Henrik was tutored to become a cavalry officer of the Empire's army. He was was taught how to effectively command a company-sized force, and excelled at it, granting him several honors from his superiors. He eventually was granted a company of light cavalry to act as a harassing and scouting element for a larger army. He was also given a knighthood and the title "Ritter von Altdorf" - the Knight from Altdorf.

Few months before going to the City of the Damned, Henrik's company was massacred and utterly destroyed by a Greenskin horde in the World's Edge Mountains, as an Imperial army was marching near the mountains. Henrik barely survived, and tried to reach the army before the horde could swarm it. He failed, as he was half-starved and very sick from his wounds, and the army suffered massive casualties thanks to a successful ambush. Henrik was reprimanded and court-martialed, and later relieved from duty, as imperial officials wanted to have a scapegoat for a massive defeat.

After the court martial was done, the comet had fell down on Mordheim, and the city had become an open warzone. Henrik, without many options, left for the City of the Damned to earn some money and a possible redemption for the deaths of his men as a member of a warband.

Personality:

Formerly a man of positive outlooks and attitude, Henrik has become more dark, grim and thoughtful person and a more cautious leader after the loss of his company. He lost most of his comrades and friends, and carries some survivor's guilt over their deaths. Henrik might appear as a man of few words, but he weighs them all. A perceptive and bright young man. A skilled tactician and swordsman, Henrik knows how to give orders and receive them. He also knows how to use flintlock pistols. Never really a religious person, Henrik still carries an amulet of Sigmar, a miniature warhammer in a metal chain, around his neck as a childhood habit.

I watched this series about two years ago, when it was aired on a local channel, and I liked it. Has anyone else the Fleming series, by any chance?

And for quite some time, I've been reading a book named "The Secret War: Spies, Codes and Guerrillas 1939-1945" by Max Hastings. It mostly details the intelligence work done by the Allies and the Axis, such as the cracking the Enigma signals by the Bletchly Park and other such examples.

Jean had found a seat and taken it, and now he was sitting very uncomfortably, and went through his training and other things in his mind. He was casually filling his few spare magazines, and Jean's eyes were looking slightly downwards, paying not too much attention at anything. I have fifty rounds of ammunition. Cartridge is 7.62 millimeters wide and 39 millimeters long. Suited for hunting the most dangerous prey in Europe at the ranges up to four hundred meters. But I can't be all business, can I?.

Jean took again a glance around him. The others had started to talk about their powers and histories, but Jean hadn't told them a thing about his. Perhaps it's time.

Jean rose to stand, thinking a second on his words and started to speak to the group. "I don't know if you have been wondering on what is my ability, but here it is."

He started to adapt to the texture of the flight compartment. It took a while, but little by little, his skin, uniform and other equipment were very similar to the walls, the floor and the ceiling of the compartment. Jean felt a slight tingling all around his body, and the air slightly vibrated around his figure. Jean started to walk in the compartment, continuing to speak.

"As you might see, I am a chameleon in human form. During the invasion, I made a habit for myself of sneaking behind the German lines and sniping officers and other important people, and they never saw it coming. Once even had a chance to take at the famed General Rommel, but he got lucky that time.

"About a year ago, I left France when the Brits bailed out of Dunkirk. For the past year, I've been training for this day. And from now on, I'll go by the name of Louis Cambronne."

Jean started to shift back into his normal, more visible self. He walked back to his seat, feeling a bit tired, as always after using his ability.

Another movie popped into my mind: The Eagle has Landed. In the movie, a German commando unit (led by no one other than Michael Caine) parachutes into England, disguised as Poles, and kills Winston Churchill, after they had a firefight with American troops. Has anyone seen it?

Edit: I realised that I haven't seen most of the classic WWII movies, like the Great Escape or Bridge Too Far.
