Shortly.

Just a regular university student, majoring in hospitality and tourism. Also a history and trivial knowledge nerd, aircraft aficionado, occasional trekker and a D&D player.

Well, I am interested.
Jean turned towards Izkry and said to him "I understand. Sniper's work is often lonely, but she'll have to bite the bullet, for now at least. We will not have any chance of making out of here alive or to kill any Germans if we don't cooperate."

Jean paused for a second. He heard a sound, something he hadn't heard in quite a while. The sound came from a nearby small road, and it was the sound of German boots. They made a certain noise Jean recognized. Perhaps a squad or so, Jean thought.

"Scatter and lay low!" Jean hissed at others, instinctively giving them a sharp order, although he knew he wasn't in charge. Jean readied his rifle and tried to peer into the darkness. The Germans were talking and seemed wary, but they hadn't yet spotted them. Just a patrol, it seems. Perhaps they saw the parachutes.

Jean crawled towards Maria and spoke softly to her. "Your call, ma'am. A German patrol on that road. We still have the surprise for an ambush, but we can also sneak into the darkness, if you decide so."
@MegaOscarPwn Come on, don't be shy.
Yo, this be dead.
Gonna play Attila Total War.
Nevermind I'm tired of it.

Anyhow, Jean has been trying to encourage Oscar for past two weeks. It seems the Spaniard likes to take his time to respond.
I am indeed interested. A question, however, what is your stance on the inclusion of period-accurate handcannons or other such pre-musket gunpowder weapons?

They could be included, if used with accuracy (pun intended). So, in very limited numbers. The RP's period is roughly comparable with the High Middle Ages of Europe, so gunpowder weapons are still at their infancy. Bows are still the main projectile weapons of the day.
1294: On the Northern Front – The RP

"It was the best times, it was the worst of the times, a time of the fire and the axe, a time of heroes and villains, a time of war and tragedy. After the Rivanians used the Black Cauldron, the nature of this particular war changed. Only rarely there has been such devices to enter the field of battle, but as always, the hotter the fire, the burn will be worse.

Nathaniel Harkmont of the Ravenholm University, 1479 AC (Author of On the Northern Front)

Midsummer, Northern Kaledan, year 1294 After the Crowning. For the past decade, the Kingdoms of Bretaine and Rivania have been locked in a bitter struggle. Both nations have fought and thousands of young men and women have died for their lords and countries. Even though there has been temporary truces, the hostilities have started again, as one side or the other has broken it. But many lord and ladies believe that this is the last year of the war.

King Arthur III of Bretaine is assembling a mighty host of soldiers, both grizzly veterans and green recruits, and King Carolus IV of Rivania has been on the defensive for the past six months, holding onto the few garrisons and captured castles in the southern province of Steyrland. The Rivanians have been fortifying their positions and preparing for King Duncan's counter-offensive. The king is certain that the offensive will drive the remaining Rivanian army back into their homeland for good. But the Rivanians still have a few tricks in their sleeve. It is rumoured that King Carolus has a wizard by his side, but there are also rumoure of a nine-tailed cat and two-headed calf having been born.

The Introduction:

This RP will be centered on the military campaign of King Duncan against the Rivanians, and you, the players will play as the lords, ladies and the regular soldiers of the army. The RP will, hopefully, culminate in an epic battle between the Bretainian and the Rivanian army. In the meantime, we will need to get there, one siege, battle and skirmish at a time. There will be need for pikemen, bowmen, knights, engineers, mercenaries, officers, commanders and other roles. Remember, not everyone was a noble in the Middle Ages. Try to make a character that interests you.

I've taken elements from my former Brythunnian RPs, but that was mostly because I am lazy to invent the wheel again. But feedback and comments are always welcome.

Shortly on the history and structure of the nations

It was starting to rain, it appeared, and Belasý was already making friends by punching Oscar and scowling with her face. Well, Belasý surely is a people person, Jean thought. If they started bickering this early, they would never stand together in a firefight or anywhere else. A year ago, Jean remembered, he had served with good friends and comrades. Now, he felt that they had a long road ahead.

"There's really no need for violence among friends, Fräulein." Trying to sound encouraging, he said to Oscar "With that accent, my Spanish friend, perhaps you should stay spicing up your vocabulary with Spanish, just in case".
@Jbcool I am definantly interested.
Jean heard Ying-mei's whisper and said calmly to her in French "That's good to hear, but your French still needs a little polishing." He peered at the group. Half of them were together, but the rest were still unaccounted for.

"It seems they are still either in the air or jumped a bit later than us. Our priority should be finding them before they are found by the Germans, if they've landed safely" Jean continued. "Anyhow, let's keep our eyes open. I don't like to get surprised."

Jean turned towards Maria. "Of course, you'll have the final say in this."
@MegaOscarPwn@Oak7ree No one expects Belasy, full stop. =P

I think maybe Mongol hoards should be added to this list, only clearly someone /did/ expect them -- after all, they built a giant wall.

Well, as the saying goes, never start a land war in Asia or attack Russia during a winter, unless you're the Mongols.
