An option for Leola would be to go with the story that her mother died...but have it be in a very narrow timeline. If you said that her mother died AFTER her name was Reaped for the 75th games, but BEFORE attending training, then that would probably make the most sense for why they decided to pass the torch on to Leola. Because if her mother had died after the games, logically speaking, there would still be enough Victors in District 1 to have a pool to choose from. District 1 takes their training very seriously, and have won several times if I recall correctly.

Not at all. Even they take the Hunger Games as something to go for and be proud of to take part, if we look at the known victors list then there are only 2 knows victors from District 1 - Gloss, who won 63rd games, and his sister Cashmere, who won 64th games. They died tho in the 75th but it doesn't work as we are here to play the 75th. And honestly I just asked to not go over the real story with the victors and the known years but for such things like this, why was she chosen to be in the games in her mothers place it not so important. What the puppet master will tell us will do.
Well done True Self. I'm also new to the Hunger Games as I haven't read any of the books, just seen the movies but it do not stop you from doing a little bit of a research on your own to prepare yourself and help yourself. All the things I know now is just because of my research so there always is an option. Even if you want, just saying, you can say that your mother won back then but she died, let's say, soon after the games from the injury she got in the final battle and as her only child you have to fill in her shoes this time. In such way you can choose an older hunger games where your characters mother was the victor.
True Self, if none of the years available are good for you then I guess you can be just tribute for the district and include the fact that there are no victors alive from your district but every district has to be participating and in your case there was just a normal tribute draw but ,for example, to those who have reached age of 15. We all know that there have never been 2 victors in Hunger Games, only in 74th it happened.
Let's not forget about this and try to move on asap ;). While some are still working on their CS, could you hive make like a summary of what do we have now and how things will work in relation to fights, deaths, loot and the rest. Just to be sure that we all are on the same page as many ideas in short time of period could be confusing.
At the moment looking at the characters it looks like my character will have just another day out in the woods tracking little animals that hides in the holes and caves :D. Nah, just kidding, but there are a lot of "weak", "small" characters that like to hide. Yeey, we will not have Hunger Games but Hide and Seek :D :D!
So I just went through all the finished and unfinished character sheets and I am happy that more people are joining in and more are revealing their characters. The only thing I would like to ask from everyone is to try not to interrupt with the actual hunger games as in years of victors. Here you can find all the known victors and their years of winning - Known victors and their years - so please choose the years that are not listed in that list. I for example took 66th hunger games, although I was going for 65th but as you can see there already is known victor in that year. So look at the available years, change your CV's and let's do this :).

Oh another thing I loved was to read the character sheets and already see some of the possible ways of putting yourself in a situation. For example Mach2 unnamed character is depending on others pity and her innocence and the bio/background part already is doing the pity part as it says that she feels bad for her victory and that it's a destiny for her to be back and die this time etc.
And for Alex part where he points out that he had a duel with a District 7 tribute and that the tribute was begging for mercy but he had no emotions towards it and he just brutally sliced the tribute in half. This part could make me to have special vendetta towards Alex as I am from District 7 and I might be interested in shaming him for his actions.

Overall I think this will be fun and if everything with the 20dice will go well then it will give the turning point for this RP and bring it to a whole new level of fun. :) Keep up the good work!
Mach2 feel free to join, we still have some spots left to fill :). And yeah I wanted to mention that this will soon look like a D&D, even I've never played it before, but I guess that's what we need as this RP will involve some random stuff that cannot be played out fairly with just RPing.
Yeah I was thinking about this but this is hunger game. Those who will decide to go for the middle for the loot should be under the roll of a number to decide who will survive and who won't and there should be an option of not dying but just getting injured. Maybe in a case if there's a duel and another character jumps in he let's the GM know is he aiming for both to kill or to save someone and in that case if aimed for 2 kills, then 2 out of 3 dies but if aimed to save someone then there might be posibility of not getting killed but injured if the dice would say that he has to die. Another thing is to decide what will be the loot in the crates as that part should be up to the GM. Also we need to think about how the Arena sections will work as we know that each section has it's own trap.

And thank you Lady Squee, I love him too! When I was reading all the district descriptions and saw the lumber for district 7 I knew I want it as for some reason I like all the wilderness lumberjack power idea....and then I remembered the scene from the movie "Bullet to the Head" when Jason had the fight with Silvester and it was awesome so I knew I will go for it.
When I wrote about sponsors I meant like for example we have 12 tributes so 12*3=36. Each picks 3 random numbers from 1-36, no repeated numbers. So when the sponsor move comes you roll the same random.org generator but not from 1-12 like it is for deaths but from 1-36 and the one whose number is generated gets the gift.

Talking about having to return to middle, in that case the winner should receive OOC PM cuz otherwise it sounds and by idea will be the same as the feast...

And the Token thing is not the sponsors gift it like a talisman, you know, lucky charm object...

Here is my character:

Name: Nash

Age: 24

Sex:
Male

Family:
Orphan

District:

Appearance:

Strength:
Great huntsman, tracker and overall survivor in the wilderness.

Weakness:
Almost fully deaf with left ear and half deaf with right ear, can't detect the directions where the sound comes from.

Weapon of choice:
Axe and spear

Bio/Background:
There was a rumour that a noble family's wife from The Capitol had an affair with one of the Hunger Games tribute and got pregnant. After the baby was born the husband, to not bring shame on his name, decided to send the baby away to the District 7 where the baby's uncle was living as the tribute that the wife had affair with died in the games. Others were gossiping that the baby was found in a cave in the woods and was left there because he had demons in him. Truth be told no one actually knew where Nash came from but one thing was clear - he was orphan and he grew up in the small forest shack of a lonely lumberjack who became his father, real or not. He was given a name Nash that means Ash Tree as his father believed that Ash Tree has a power to kill supernatural.

Unfortunately at age of 8 Nash again became an orphan as his father died in an accident when a falling tree fell right on him. His old man already was a loner and people from District 7 were talking a lot of things about him, like people used to talk about witches. Some said that he's a werewolf and that's the reason he lives alone, deep in the forest. Some said that he's a vampire that drinks only animal blood, so after he died no one wanted to take Nash and raise him. Nash was all alone at age of 8, in a small shack, deep in the woods, left to die. The beginning was awfully hard and it felt almost like it would be easier to die here and now but it started to get better as his skills for hunting, weapon mastery and survival skills started to grow. By age of 10 Nash was already able to single-handedly chop down big trees in. Hunting had became an easy task, tracking was almost the same as to breath. His body was much more developed at age of 12 than for some at age of 18.

The age of 12, that was the year when Nash was old enough to be added to the reaping ceremony but that's not what happened. As no one knew where Nash came from and based on the fact that he was living with his father deep in the woods, no one mentioned him to the authorities. So when his father died and he was left alone in the woods, everyone totally forgot about him and therefore no one added his name for the reaping as he was like a ghost in the District 7. But that was the first year when Nash heard about Hunger Games and went to secretly observe the reaping ceremony. A boy and a girl was chosen and as always everyone was sad about this event but not Nash, no, he saw an opportunity to bring his and his fathers name in the light, to make his father proud of him, so he began an intense training, even it was against the rules of the games to do that. Two years later, the 66th Hunger Games, the reaping ceremony, the girls name has just been announced and it's time for the boy to be picked. The card is picked and already unfolded and the name is announced "Joshua Rondale" when right after the name is called Nash walks from the crowd and shouts "I volunteer as a tribute for District 7!". The whole crowed just stared at him like they would see a ghost and it wasn't far from truth as for the last 6 years he had no contact with anyone but the forest. That was also the year when he became a victor of Hunger Games.

Token:
A silver ring with a weave in the middle that represents the never ending forests.

The year won:
66th Hunger Games

So, I am assuming we can play as any age, as we will all be past victors?

By the rules of Hunger Games the ones that have reached age of 12 are being put into the reaping so even you would be a victor from 74th Hunger Games and aged 12 at previous games then the minimum age you can be is 13.

Also for the Character Sheet we can add - Token, as everyone is allowed to have one to remind about the district, home but cannot be used as a weapon. And another thing that came into my mind is that besides everyone getting a random number or ID for the death decision, we should also receive like 3-4 more random numbers that would be used for the Sponsors thingy. Basically what I mean is to decide how many times in the game would be given a Sponsors gift, I suggest 2-3, and do it in the same way as for the death with random number. That's also the reason why for the Sponsors everyone should receive 3-4 numbers so that the chance of getting the sponsors support would be smaller.
