For the most part that is true. Games like Titanfall also anthropomophize their mechs more than mech warriors will. Yes in MW the mechs are often humanoid in shape but it is still a machine. It's a glorified suit of power armour that is slow, stompy and more of a battlefield asset like a tank would be. Or an artillery piece.

Titanfall is more like a human piloting a larger human that happens to be made of metal. Those mechs are even capable of finer dexterity, even acrobatics to a degree.

They are very much a different interpretation of the 'mech' and you don't tend to see both variations mixed often because they don't tend to mix smoothly. Also because it doesn't make sense to have both styles in place because they are all different. Any setting you look at picks one or the other. Big and stompy or borderline human in its abilities.
The vibe is more mech warrior than Titanfall for this
Looking for a partner to discuss the third idea. "Strength through unity."

If anyone is interested please pm me.

Personality:

Background: David was born the second son of a cousin of the head of the Terryn Family of knightly nobility within the Barony. As such, he realized very quickly that his prospects in life were rather limited. In the grand scheme of things he was a minor noble who would not rise through inheritance of land or title. Such honours would go to his more fortunate cousins. Nor could he be seen debasing himself with too menial and lowborn of a career.

He could he rely too heavily on nepotism to grant him a decent appointment, as he would have little to offer politically in return. Like many children born into the gentile poverty of ‘lesser’ nobility David’s best bet in life if he remained home was to have a junior officers commission purchased for him in the Augustine military, and being a pawn in a, excruciating political marriage. Or, option two was to strike out on his own as an errant. A fortuneless scion of the nobility who took to the stars of their own as mercenaries, merchant princes and bastards. Either making their own name and fortune in the stars and returning home in triumph and laurels or dying a likely violent death and/or written out of the family history and quietly forgotten.

David chose the latter path, as at the very least it promised more excitement and variance than the former option. Ten years ago he made the declaration to his father of his decision and he has not looked back since.

David was also lucky that his family was able to afford purchasing him mech, and providing him with a small but stretchable stipend for his continued travels.

Motivation(s): Admittedly few beyond the simple desire for a more interesting life than what he would have had back home. Fame and fortune (and woman) wouldn’t hurt and any honourable gains he makes only reflect well on his family in return, though he mostly pays them little mind these days. Having long since made peace with his decision to ‘go rogue’
ya, I am going to back out of this game.
This seems pretty cool
I am more than aware of what the strength score does in this game and what it affects.

And fine, whatever. I'll change the word around.
Worst techpriest ever.....

@AdvancedJ3lly Also I am including her much higher than oeverage toughness stat, which in this game is usually combined with strength to give an indication of a persons physical ability and overall health/constitution.

its not my fault strength increases are mostly pointless on heavy troopers, aside from carrying capacity. If you want to split hairs on this I can change it to say 'toughest'
That may well be your opinion on the matter and it may at times be true. But I also feel you are being impatient, and probably don't have too much on your plate as far as day to day activities, doing things after work, etc. I don't mean that as an insult, merely an observation based on what I am reading.

And just because something is slower paced for you doesn't mean that it feels that way for everyone. personally I find 4 days is the most reasonable window of time to grant that ends up suiting most people. Which, in the end is the purpose of establishing a schedule. It needs to work for the most people. not just the ones who want to get going the quickest.

I agree a strict initiative order would be a bad thing, And I am more than willing to give the GM's idea a go and I think it would work. But you need to give other people time.
And I find that forcing a breakneck pace is also bad for an rp because it forces some people out immediately, and causes burnout far quicker, potentially driving more people away and not necessarily offering encouragement to new joiners.

This is the main disadvantage of the forum rp. Unlike meeting at a house where everyone sets aside one night a week. This is subject to peoples daily lives. I'm happy that you are able to post every single day if required. But not everyone can.

I would say 3-4 days myself. But ultimately this is the GM's decision.
