Would like to ask around if there are people interested to join a RP in the Cold War where special forces units are tasked to investigate a conspiracy group trying to start a world war (again) after the end of the Second World War.

Unlike Black Lagoon, this one's set in the modern times.

Basically, we're recently recruited people working for a private military/security company in a (Fictional) Southeast Asian country where their operations (legal/whatnot) are in the Southeast Asian area, although their ops could extend to other theaters (eg maybe East Asia), depending on the context.

Feel free to reach out to me.

I'll break the ice:

* Name: Kevin Tan

* Age: 25

* Appearance: Around 5'8 to 5'9 in height. Chinese descent. Has short black hair done in a crew cut.

* Nationality: Singaporean

* Speciality: Infantry (mostly with a mix of special forces training), recon

* Skills: Languages (English [Singaporean-based], Malaysian, Mandarin, some Singaporean Hokkien), small arms, unarmed and close quarters combat

* Bio: Born in Singapore in 1946, one year after British-led Allied forces liberated it from Japanese occupation. He was adopted by his paternal uncle and aunt after his biological parents were killed in 1948 as casualties in a bombing attack attributed to the Malayan National Liberation Army (MNLA). Kevin studied in Singapore and finished up to secondary education at the Raffles Institution before he enlisted in early 1964 to the 2nd Battalion, Singapore Infantry Regiment after he turned 18 as a Lance Corporal. Kevin saw action in fighting against Indonesian troops and pro-Commmunist Malaysians infiltrating into Malaysia during Konfrontasi immediately. He was lightly injured during his deployment, but he was able to return back to duty a few months later and was promoted to Sergeant for saving his fellow soldiers from an ambush. In an after action report, Kevin mentions about mysterious foreign-looking soldiers who were seen assisting said saboteurs during some of the gunfights he was involved in. In early 1965, Kevin was placed in Operation Claret and he was given special forces-level training by the British SAS for his knowledge regarding the foreign forces he spotted early on, later identified to be with Fenrir. Kevin's deployment in Sarawak and Sabah to confront Indonesian forces was kept classified under the Official Secrets Act. Kevin returned back to Singapore after Operation Claret ended in 1966 and returned back to his unit. In 1969, Kevin was recruited under the Singaporean Army's Regular Battalion, which would be reformed as the Commandos in the later years. But in 1970, Kevin was seconded to Task Force 150 after the CIA learned of Fenrir's secret involvement in the events of Konfrontasi. Prior to his assigned to TF150, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant.

* Gear: Armed with a Fairbarn-Sykes combat knife for close quarters fighting. For small arms (unless mission parameters dictate), Kevin uses a L1A1 SLR battle rifle, owning to his proficiency and use in it during his Konfrontasi deployment with a Browning High-Power that can have a suppressor installed.

* Comments: I may get some things wrong in this profile, so let me know.

Haven't been back here for long. So like what title says, looking for peeps who'd want to go play and frolick in my RP since I got back recently.

In case peeps are asking how many people are needed, we can do small. Basically, I'd need characters who are soldiers or are intelligence agents.
1947.

The year when historians have considered it the starting point of the Cold War, a period of geopolitical tensions between the US and the USSR alongside their allies from the West and the East. From the ashes of the Second World War II comes suspicion from the former Allied countries after fascism was defeated.

The two sides came to intervene in Korea on both sides in 1950 after North Korea invaded the South, backed by Chinese and Soviet support. It lasted until 1953 when an armistice was signed.

In the midst of the war, reports from the field have suggested the presence of a mysterious paramilitary group taking advantage of the war by escalating tensions that nearly forced the US to consider using the atom bomb.

This group was also reported to be spotted in parts of South America, Africa, Europe and Asia, seemingly supporting pro-communist efforts. Although later intelligence briefings also suggested their presence in the East in order to conduct false flag ops and frame the West.

In response to this, the Central Intelligence Agency secretly made plans to establish a multinational unit that would conduct black ops against not only against Communist forces trying to penetrate against non-Communist countries, but also to investigate the activities of the mysterious group. In secret meetings conducted with countries friendly to the US (regardless if they're neutral or not), they recognize the threat the group has to international peace and order since Korea.

Task Force 150 was subsequently created with staff recruited from the various non-communist nations who are willing to bring the fight against Communism and investigate the shadowy group, which was given the codename of Fenrir after a few raids on said group's operations have seized evidence of an insignia of a howling wolf.

The tensions in Vietnam, which eventually led to the Vietnam War, has given Fenrir the opportunity to string both sides in the new battlefield after Washington DC led the charge to help Saigon prevent a pro-Communist insurgency from toppling it, but not without giving the task force severe headaches from what's happening in South Vietnamese politics. There are intelligence reports that Fenrir has plans to conduct psyops in the field.

At the same time, rumors have come to TF150 that Fenrir forces have attempted to conduct secret operations to seize nuclear assets from countries that have such assets in their possession.

The year is 1971. TF150 was tasked to oversee an operation in the DMZ with a report passed to the unit from a mole in the East that a high-ranking official or two may intend to defect with information on a supposed secret Soviet project. No details were made, except that the mole warned that it was serious to warrant the KGB's involvement.

Hello. Haven't been back here due to job hunting/COVID-19/Little interest from an RP idea from before and after the website got an overhaul that I decided to go back to TV Tropes and/write some of my fanfic that need to be finished up.

Wondering on a suggestion/idea that the site can have a button to click on somewhere on the website that once clicked, all forum threads will be marked (The ! icon removed) as read.
No worries.
Closest I can find is the NISA. It took over from the Siad-era NSS.
If any, I'll just take names from the actual Somali agencies out there.
