Shiro shrugged half-heartedly, feeling it to early to pass judgement on anybody. He seemed... yes, maybe 'nice' was the word. "I was joking about it becoming septic," she chuckled, cracking a smile for the first time in what felt like ages. "But it's just what would happen."
"Or they'll become septic, and he'll die of infection," Shiro pointed out in a matter-of-fact way. She wasn't too worried about Shinji if she was truthful, it was just one of many side-effects that happens to magic weilders. It was just the fact Shinji had risked himself just to make sure she, Shiro, got to the bus in time. It was a risk that far outweighed the task. Still, she was honoured in some, small way. "Dunno, I guess he's just a bit thick. Ryu, isn't it?" she asked, shuffling up so Ryu had room to sit down.
Headstrong moron! Was she so incapable that only magic spells could help her? And risky spells at that! Shinji was going to get creamed at the end of the year. Reaching over the seat, Shiro grabbed Shinji firmly by the shoulders and helped Ryu haul him back into his seat. Holding him there, she nodded to Ryu to let him know he could let go now. "Would've came sooner if I hadn't zoned out," she explained to Ryu bluntly.
Sounds good! Great! Amazing! *jumps up and down, ready to explode* I CAN'T WAIT!!!
After darting through however many groups of people on her way outside, tripping over chairs and spilling tea all over the librarian as she took a shortcut through the library, Shiro was running helter-skelter towards the bus when, all of a sudden.... she wasn't. She was... floating? No, invisible hands were grabbing her. Holding her, as everything passed by too fast to comprehend. Then, as quick as everything sped it up, it stopped quite suddenly, sending her brain reeling.
"Welcome Shiro!" A voice chirruped from beside her. She looked down, the beaming face of Shinji assaulting her vision. With a single, drawn out glance around the room - which she then confirmed as a bus - she slid into the seat directly behind him. She stared at Shinji for a few more seconds, trying to figure out from his tone of voice whether she was being mocked or not. "Hel... Hello S-Shinji?" she questioned, still not quite undestanding what was happening.
Ooooooh, senpai!
Shiro sat stupidly for a moment or two, the conversations that had transpired around her seemingly leaving her in a stupor. She frowned. 'Familiars' and the quest to become the best mage sounded so... outlandish and childish to her ears, but the fire-cat that had suddenly appeared and the determination of Shinji could not easily be dismissed as fairy tales.
She looked around after attempting to digest the information that had assailed her thinking, only to find the room empty. Nobody was around, not even the teacher, and there was no sound at all emenating from the corridor outside. Snapping herself upright she grabbed her bag, the sudden change in height causing black and red spots to float in front of her vision. As Shiro made her way to the door, her eyes fell to the window just in time to see a big, red bus appear in front of her classmates. Who were outside and beginning to board it. Without her. Now was the time of reckoning - did she really want to join a group that was full of eletists? Cursing, she ran to the classroom door, yanked it open and sprinted down the hallway, praying she'd make it in time.

Balthazar: I didn't mean make him younger XD How can he be in charge of aerial training if he's not only a lanky teenager, but doesn't even have a rideable dragon yet?
