s k i l l s- Skill in question - Description of skill
- Archetype: Knight Of Hamfast
- Chivalric Training - Knights Of Hamfast are trained in something called, “The Chivalry Of Man,” which emphasizes the abilities that Humans possess that Fae and Dwarves lack. It is martial, teaching the greatbow, the use of plate armor, and the use of the longsword, shortsword, and shield, and skills based teaching horsemanship, animal husbandry, and basic survival skills.
- Longsword Favor - Most Knights Of Hamfast take the longsword as their favored weapon. Their style is fluid, and makes careful use of every part of a blade explicitly to maximize the death one can deal with it. He is a particularly excellent duelist.
- Might Of Man - Those from the lands under the control of the Hamfast family make great displays of strength their goal, as it shows the strength of humanity. One such feat of strength is called the Trial Of Man. In two stages, one must first defeat two unarmed Dwarves at once while similarly unarmed, then pry open their chest cavity and consume their liver and heart. This is done again with a pair of Fae. Walter Matthews succeeded.
- ’Neath A Dog’s Sigil - The Knight Order Of Hamfast trains with hounds, for the explicit purpose of hunting Fae and Dwarves. The animals they train follow orders well, and swiftly. Many Fae and Dwarves familiar with the various Human lineages may know well the sigil of the three gold stacked harriers on a field of green.
- Bone Breaker - Out of leisure, rather than out of any particular chivalric duty, Walter Matthews learned unarmed melee fighting. His preference has developed into a skill, and he is now a troubling foe. His grapples, locks, and even punches are all built to allow him to transition into bone breakages upon successful strikes.
- Hated Race: Fae - Throughout his life, Walter Matthews has developed a deep hatred of the Fae, and has made a point of killing many and collecting their scalps as a threat against the folk. He has even made a study of their anatomy for the explicit purposes of gutting them when he encounters them. He has had to suppress his urges since his exile from home...

a r m o r- Head
- A steel hounskull helmet. The forger’s initials, LG, are printed on the inside. The phrase, “My work is done only when your skull is in pieces, good Hound Of Hamfast,” is printed against the lower back edge of the piece. An aventail is attached. He wears a coif beneath the piece.
- Chest
- A brown combat jupon that stops at the upper middle arm. It has several replacement patches where heraldry would have gone. It has taken some damage but has been repaired professionally lately.
- A black brigandine. It appears to have seen some use, but is otherwise in a state of good function. It fits well, and is comfortable to wear independent of additional support.
- A beige gambeson. It is well maintained, and has patches and various points of repair along it. The original craftsman’s tag has been removed. It still has the Hamfast heraldry patched over the breast.
- He wears a rich-looking tunic, that looks to be woven of a very fine, flaxen material. Not many pieces like it exist. It is, in fact, woven from the hair of many Fae. It glistens in the light, is soft, and has many shades of white and gold.
- He carries a leather satchel, which is padded and hangs over his left shoulder and falls to rest above his belt. The leather is tanned Dwarf hide, and is very thick and reliable. The name, “Nori,” stamped into it. A cruel indicator of the skin’s previous owner?
- Arms
- Steel pauldrons and vambraces.
- Legs
- He wears simple brown hose, and dog leather boots.
- Chain chausses covering the whole legs.

a p p e a r a n c eThose of Walter Matthews's bloodline are of a tall pale sort, with narrow features and squinted blue or brown eyes. His messy brown hair is jaw length, and he wears a thick unkempt beard since his banishment by his father. Most of his height is in his legs, and he is fit by necessity of his military work and training.
p e r s o n a l i t yLike most from the Hamfast region, his personality has developed from a hatred of Fae and Dwarves. From a young age he was taught the superiority of the Human species, and he developed as a person filled with hate and rage that cooled into a knowledgeable distaste in his current age. In Hamfast he sought to improve community infrastructure and works. The easiest way, he figures, to improve any one community is to kill the Fae and Dwarves. Fae breed too much due to their longevity, Dwarves are too stocky to be useful on the hunt or in an effective mining community. Central to these hatreds is his appreciation of a Great Central Spirit, which is said by the people of Hamfast to have originated all Humans. Humans, by virtue of being originated by this central spirit, were greater. His personal worship of the two Repentant Spirits that created the Fae and Dwarves in a fit of anger with the Central Spirit marks his general view of the world and interactions with others: Apologize, and learn from your mistakes. The Rat demon demands the tongues of Dwarves, while the Dog demon demands the ears of the Fae. The rest is, by the demands of the central spirit, all utility in the same way that animal parts are for utility.
l i k e sHunting, and the slaying of animals, Fae, and Dwarves. He enjoys tending to the after-hunt chores most of all. Horses and horse riding are particular joys of his. Stemming from his enjoyment of hunting, is his enjoyment of cooking and meat. Of his more wholesome enjoyments is his appreciation of grass, the smell of rain, and thunder storms. He appreciates particularly the hard work of his father, and he has a secret love of rats. Especially as pets.
d i s l i k e sFae and Dwarves are inferior beings, as are those that cannot make decisions well enough. His noble status has driven him to find outrage with others holding expectations of him, and he shirks polite order often as a result. This has lead to a dislike of self reflective behavior. Quietly he believes that traders and the Sunrunners both are charlatans, and that his father is a challenge granted to him by the Rat demon. The intention, of course, is for him to develop into a man of similar grandeur to the challenge that is his father. Those of his caste often dislike peasants and dirty folk, as well as taxes that demand his income. As a curiosity though he sees himself as something of an anarchist, disliking social hierarchy as a whole.
