That is some serious genjutsu. I wouldn't want to be caught in that. I'd rather get strapped to a cross and stabbed by Itachi for 72 hours... *awesome face**ahem* Halvtand and I have discussed this (a lot) and got sidetraked a bit (a lot (bewbs were mentioned)), so sorry it took us so long. We're thinking that this technique is like a mini version of opening a Gate, except the drawback is not quite as high next to the effect. So... *sigh* we agreed that perhaps instead of making it a custom technique, you should just make it opening a gate. He might not know that that is what he is doing (since the Eight Gates are forbidden techniques and all that), but it seems more plausible that way.(Haruka lost her chakra enhanced strength to Halvtand's logic, as well... She's opening a gate, too)Umm... I'm not sure what to say, here. You say that he's only mastered the wind element by 10% and is still at the leaf cutting stage, yet he is almost halfway at training a technique that uterlizes the element of wind. How can he train a technique that he cannot perform? How can he perform a technique that he has not even mastered the element for, yet? It doesn't add up. Until he has mastered the element of wind, he cannot train the technique.

I'll edit it to opening a gate. And I think there is some confusion. There are numerous times in the Naruto Manga where it is indicated and shown shinobi can use jutsu from an element they haven't mastered. Mastering an element only allows for enhanced power/ease of use in those Jutsu. In Ryuu's case, because he has not yet mastered Wind; wind jutsus require more chakra and are less powerful, but he is still capable of using them.

Example:
-Sasuke using the Fireball Jutsu when he was not even a genin. He had yet to train or undergone any devoted specialization to the Fire element. This can hold true for many Uchiha.

Also from Naruto Wiki: "This affinity makes it easier to learn how to create and control the nature in question, although even with an affinity this process will usually take any number of years. Shinobi are not limited to the nature they have an affinity to, though."

I'm here to give feedback and fuck bitches. And I'm all out of bitches... So...

First of all, thanks so much for the advice and clarification for some things! I've gone through and edited some stuff. For easy access, here is what I have added/changed:

Except I have Charleston readily defended... Especially with Fort SumterBesides, if you take Charleston and kill off my national government, expect the Tyranny of Robert E. Lee

Which actually wouldn't be that bad. Lee was probably the most amazing/honorable Leader in the Americas during this time period. And Yes I am including Lincoln among those.
THE HAMMER OF EDWARD! Haha. Britain still has a ton of troops in India from the Opium wars. They can crack down and enforce order in India.
No colonies are being given away. The Hammer of Edward is about to fall and Britain will hopefully return to stability.
Alright. Edited out all the other jutsu. Here is the more indepth version of Element Blade.

Name: Element Blade, Yoso Burēdo no Jutsu
Rank: B
Summary: Ryuu uses his elemental chakra to run fire or wind along his blade. This has a low chakra cost, but requires immense control or it will lash out violently and potentially harm Ryuu. Also a lack of control would result in his chakra being drained to near exhaustion. The elemental chakra coats the blade for enhanced attacking power and offers extended reach; the blade is even more detrimental against wind or lightning styles depending upon whether Ryuu is using fire or wind respectively. Ryuu is currently working on learning how to combine Fire and Wind so that he can send both natures down the sword at once. This would upgrade the technique to A-rank.

I think of this technique as very similar to Asuma's trench knives, but along the whole blade. Which then also requires more control.

Edit: Also just to add, that while I know this character seems powerful...I don't write Gary-stus. This is a character on the verge of becoming Jounin-level, but he is still quite young and I would not even put him on the same level as characters like Asuma or Kurenai as of yet. He's more akin to Anko or Hayate's level currently.

I'm not the gm or anything so I'll probably get the hammer of doom, but I think as chunin that are starting out the characters shouldn't have mastered anything D:

I would agree in the case of newly minted Chuunin. However if someone has been a Chuunin for awhile I can see them having mastered some skills. The problem with a lot of it is that Kishimoto kinda screwed with the power scale to make a more interesting story. Technically nearly every genin we see in the Rookie 9 at the beginning is almost or already Chuunin level compared to what was originally described.

Ugh, how I destest .Now, with that out of my system (since I can't do anything about it anyways), lets get to work *cracks knuckles*First of all, I'm gonna start with the last point on the list; the jutsu. Your character is a master of ninjutsu, taijutsu (since kenjutsu is technically taijutsu) genjutsu. These three kinds of jutsu require three different sets of "skills" to master. Ninjutsu takes lots of chakra and/or chakra control (to short it down), taijutsu takes physcial stamina, strenght and or speed (again, to short it down) and genjutsu takes chakra control, concentration and, well, intelligence/creativity.What I am trying to say is... well...Another thing about your jutsu is the fact that he already uses two elements (fire and earth), as well as him training a third element (lightning). Now, Uchiha have a natural affinity towards fire, we all know that, so that is no surprise and Sasuke had a natural affinity for lightning, as well. However, it is rare for a shinobi to have dual natural affinity (affinity to two different elements) and even more for them to so easily master (and I say "so easily" because he is only seventeen). This, coupled with the fact that he is an "expert swordsman" and a genjutsu user, really makes my "Gary Stu" sirens go off.Well, actually, I'm just gonna start off with that and wait for your reply. No matter what, I am going to have to wait for my voice of reason (AKA, Halvtand) before I make any real decisions.I did, actually.

First of all, no worries!!! I am definitely willing to work through some things on the character. I have been doing WIP on it before you replied, so that might be why there is some confusion? I got rid of the earth element in my WIP because I agree that it was OP. Like, any shinobi is capable of using any element; but mastery is another thing entirely. When I state that Wind is Ryuu's secondary, I do not mean that he has mastered that. Rather it is what he is currently working on to move on to Jounin level. He is not a ninjutsu master. He has just copied a lot of them. He knows 'how' to perform them. But he is not a master of these techniques. Nor does he really use them in combat. The only 'ninjutsu' he uses is the custom Element Blade. The other ninjutsu is just what he has copied and is capable of haphazardly using. He's not Kakashi.

So I apologize if there is some confusion there because of the sheet. If you want me to only post the jutsu he actually has mastered and uses I will put that down. In regards to elements, he has only mastered Fire. Slowly working on Wind, but it is taking awhile. He is a skilled swordsman and uses his advanced chakra control to enhance his speed. He has a decent understanding of genjutsu and can integrate it into his attacks with his sword.

If you would prefer some changes just let me know!
I think some of the best parts of the Original Series were the relationships between the Crew Members. They were part of what made the storyline so memorable. Also..just the general otherworldly feel of these places they visited. Its the sense of something being completely alien. Yet at the same time, some of my favorite episodes were the ones that did a philosophical examination of the Human State. So I guess my top two preferences for focus would be relationships and a sense of wonder in the worlds we visit.

Also strategy. Even the little bit I know about Picard in comparison to Kirk is enough to know that while there is plenty of action, Strategy is how the Enterprise typically won. So just my opinions!

I'm in a similar situation except I watch New Generation (and a bit of Voyager) instead of the Original Series. Interested.

I get the feeling that since this is so far in the future, only a moderate amount of knowledge regarding the Universe is required as opposed to being a full on Trekkie and able to speak Klingon. Haha. So I'm hoping we should be fine.
