A little of both, really. Leviathan's can get all body horrory but that's a specific skill you gotta invest points into. All of them can turn into big monsters though, it's just a matter of power and how much of yourself you're willing to let go for it.
@Grec
Unfortunately that can't work, or at least for very long. The Wake forces humans to fear and worship a Leviathan in equal measures, and while it isn't as strong with other supernatural beings as humans it'll still mess with them on a level that cannot be ignored. I was planning on making a separate pirate crew that are occasional allies of the Devils, I'll explain in more detail in the CS.

Lots of stuff I gotta put down for the spawn of ancient, primordial horrors.
@Grec
So there's a lot of fluff and mechanics that I'm going to have to stuff into this CS for any of the Leviathan stuff to make sense, just as a heads up.

Here is a WIP, I just need to hammer out the last couple of details of his history and then write up a zeroth post. Lemme know if anything won't fit with your story.

I guess my last question before I settle is going to be how old are we supposed to be? Would we remember the pre-sundering world?
@Winterwake
Thanks, I'm going for a theme of knightly dignity mixed with berserker drug use, all wrapped up in an optimistic nihilist. Good times all around.
@Winterwake
The name change is inconsequential, I just liked the sound of it.

What's your stance on magic potions? Stuff that enhances the body or cures diseases, I know we have mages but I don't want to jump the gun with magic strength potions if there aren't any.
@Winterwake
Alright, then I guess the rivalry came later then. My idea so far is that this "Order of the Black Sun" was around pre-unification war under the banner of the Blackguard of Morr, an old god of Death and Dreams. They fought hard but eventually their patron kingdom decided it was better to give in to Queen Avelier rather than being slowly ground into dust, so the Blackguard was ordered to stand down and surrender. When the Queen outlawed religion there was a minor conflict with the blackguard but they eventually gave in and rebranded themselves as the Order of the Black Sun after an eclipse happened over one of their battles.

However the inner circle, "The Black Ones", still worship Morr behind closed doors.

Functionally they do what the Silver Shields do but cheaper and offer their services for pennies when guarding gravesites.
@Winterwake
Were the Silver Shields around during Queen Avelier's unification wars?
