Alyson decided they could take at least an hour to load in her ship. This, so they could be comfortable for the next few days. She had missed several things the past few days: warm clothes, a toothbrush, a private bathroom and clean blankets. The ones Flynn had were fine but they had this odd, manly smell to them, making Alyson feel dirty every time she sniffed them.
Flynn had landed inside a huge cornfield, right at the edge of her yard. Alyson jumped onto the pebbled path that led towards the entrance of the old cottage. It seemed slightly abandoned and old, and the windows clearly needed a sweep. “Don’t say it. It’s been more than a year since I’ve been here. And I never really stayed long.” She shrugged, and with the huge backpack on her back she walked over to the door. It looked like a very ordinary door, made out of thick wood with a layer of varnish making it shiny. She leaned in slightly, making an eye scanner pop out of the wall. It was an odd sight, seeing such a piece of equipment together with a house like that. “I figured if I had to run, I wouldn’t have time to grab the key. So I kept it simple.” She explained, bending forward to scan her retina. The door unlocked, revealing the inside of her living room. It was small, but very cosy. Unlike outside, the inside was very modern with a hint of old furniture. It even had a fireplace, powered by electricity, but it still gave the whole place a homey feel.
“Welcome.” A rug filled the whole 1st floor, giving them a soft step anywhere where they went. She placed the backpack on the floor and pointed over to a large, wooden book frame. “If you would like to side that one to the right, we can load up my ship first. I decided to keep the hangar hidden in the basement, so the old fashioned garden wouldn’t get ruined.” Alyson smiled wide as she talked, clearly proud of her little hide-out.
Meanwhile, Alyson started to raid her closet upstairs, picking up several beauty items she had missed. She even took her make-up with her, wanting to surprise Flynn when they had time to.. Play around again. Even a set of sexy lingerie was not to be forgotten. With a grin, she closed the trunk she had packed and walked downstairs to check how far Flynn had gotten with her ship. Unlike her basement on Aeros, this place was much less secure so he could walk in and out from everywhere if he wanted to. She figured it wouldn’t be needed, as this was her holiday house whom nobody knew off. Alright, she had several neighbours a few miles away, but they never really came to say hello.
David, Sarah, Alice and Grunt were already on their way towards the coordinates. After picking up some armour and guns, David felt like they were ready for a battle. 16 more hours to go.
