Name: Olive Bishop

Age: 24

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Straight

Job: Music Teacher at Brookfield Elementary

Appearance:

Olive's most obvious features are either her strange gaze which never quite makes eye contact (she's fairly obviously blind) or her out of style, mismatched clothes (which are another clue if you didn't pick up on her disability right away). Olive is also on the short side and a little frail looking, though in reality she's hardly helpless.

Personality: Five words to describe Olive would be: Naive, Kind, Frugal, Gullible and Impulsive. Despite being born blind, Olive's always been a country girl at heart, having grown up on a farm and spent most summers camping with her dad and brother. Getting messy or living on a tight budget are all things she can deal with. The only times she really gets uncomfortable are when she's alone or in situations out of her social and economical boundaries. The former comes from being lost in the woods for a couple days on her own when she was 8, and the latter is simply from not knowing what to do around classy and elegant people. Being lost is right up there in fears along with drowning and accidentally falling off a cliff, but the last two are probably unlikely. In her free time when she isn't teaching, Olive loves to cook (which she's terrible at) or read trashy mystery novels (in braille of course). The mystery novels have been fueling her overactive imagination lately.

Background: Olive's mother left when she was 5. It was obvious that trying to take care of a blind child was more than she had signed up for. One day she took a few things while they were all asleep and never came back. That abandonment is Olive's biggest regret, often making her hate the thing about herself she can never change. Though, things weren't so bad after that. Olive was always very close to her father and brother and they took great care of her, encouraging her to pursue her passion of music and to go to school, even learning to live on her own. No matter what happened, Olive felt confident that if she tried her best, she would either succeed or at the very least still have her family supporting her, so there was never much fear in her life. This changed two weeks ago when her father passed away from a stroke. It rocked her world and all she wanted was to get away from day-to-day life. Her brother suggested they go camping like they used to when they were little, so Jason packed up his jeep and they took off for Deer Mountain State Park.

Accommodations:

Quirks: Blind with a lack of social boundaries pretty much sums up Olive. Maybe it's that she gets away with more since no one seems to want to scold her, but regardless, Olive speaks her mind and is a bit too friendly with complete strangers. She's a bit like a stray dog starved for affection who will try to befriend anyone and everyone she comes across.

Theme: ? (not sure what this means)
