Current Today I reached the conclusion that, if presented with an exact duplicate of herself, one of my characters would DEFINITELY hit that.

They're not LONG chapters; but the fact I've managed to right 2 meh and 4 half decent ones in 4 days makes me very happy with myself.

"Elemental, stop attacking. Ditch the holy water." The Djinn swallowed his cigarette, closing the distance to the protective barrier, "If I know your kind, and I do, be ready to heal the suspect as soon as he's contained." Argus ordered, sprinting forward and vaulting over the wall of blood. As soon as he was past it, he flicked the handcuffs open l, preparing to grapple Mason and lock the enchanted shackles around his wrists "The fight is over Mason. Just let me put these on to keep the shadow from coming back and I'll have the elemental stitch you back together."
@Blueflame@LightningMaiden

Argus stepped away from the wall, dropping the second cigarette in Richard's lap, "Listen to the elemental, Mason. We don't WANT to hurt you, but you put a lot of innocent people in danger tonight." Argus affirmed calmly, "We can help you learn to control this thing, but first you need to hold it back long enough for us to contain it." he took a step forward, pulling out a set of silver handcuffs engraved with runes from his belt.

"I'm probably the last person you want to be talking to after our little brawl, but believe me when I say that we don't want you to die, and we don't like having to hurt you. Hell, A couple years ago I was just like you. Lost, wandering, fighting and struggling just to survive" Argus took another step closer, lifting up the handcuffs into clear view, "And yeah, a few innocent people got hurt because of me, but the agency helped me find a way to put my powers to good use." the Djinn admitted, measuring his voice carefully to avoid showing any signs of hostility, "Let me put these handcuffs on you and they'll suppress your powers long enough for us to get you somewhere safe so you can recover."
@Blueflame You kinda set a tough spot for yourself on that one, standing on the line between treating them as a singular entity or two different characters sharing a body. I'm sure you can work something out, though.

Although if you're having trouble I'd be willing to help you sort it out via PM.

As for how they'd react: Argus likes punching the shit out of things so he'll take any excuse to let loose without getting in trouble. Finding out they're 100% the same being just lets him justify the stabbing and slashing with his claws.
@Blueflame When I'm having trouble figuring out what to write I usually ask myself a few questions.

Examples: How much has the ongoing assault weakened Shadow? How much influence can Mason exert over Shadow at the current power level? How smart is Shadow, and would he consider tactical options and long term plans over continuing to fight what is for now a losing battle?
@Blueflame Ah, Supernatural style demon NOT Biblical demon. I tend to default to assuming things are the latter, though these days more and more people are going with the "humans can become demons" angle.
@Blueflame Wait... He, as a demon, has inherent powers, which create a super evil alternate personality? I don't quite follow the logic on that one.
@Blueflame He's pretty much got the gist of it. Figures it's some form of demonic possession.

Argus stared blankly at Richard, apparently lost in thought, "Is this really what my life has come to? Banished from my homeland, arrested, put on working probation, and now people are calling me sir? How the fuck did I get here..." the Djinn pondered briefly before shaking his head to snap himself out of it. "Rich, when we're done here, you and I are going to do some training back at base. Can't have you burning out like this in the field." he advised, watching as Amaya's strikes cut effortlessly through the shadow demon's hardened ink. "And the name is Argus, none of this Sir bullshit." he sighed.

"Wash away the demonic essence, don't cut it. We want to disable this thing, not dismember it." the agent instructed Amaya, pulling a pack of cigarettes from his jacket as he watched the elemental's movements. Argus lit a smoke with a small flame at the tip of his finger before putting the pack away, holding a second cigarette between two fingers and offering it to Richard. "Demon, submit yourself to my custody and I call off the elemental. Otherwise, she keeps swinging and I take whatever's left of you back to base in a ziploc bag."
Probably the second most senior agent around now that I think about it...

But yeah once the whole deal with Shadow is sorted, he's going to be having a word with the other agents and asking them to just call him Argus. Not the biggest fan of formality even if he's pretty good at playing the professional agent.
@Searat Every time you call Argus sir it makes him question his life choices, that he of all people would end up in a position of authority and seniority over ANYONE.
