Current Today I reached the conclusion that, if presented with an exact duplicate of herself, one of my characters would DEFINITELY hit that.

They're not LONG chapters; but the fact I've managed to right 2 meh and 4 half decent ones in 4 days makes me very happy with myself.

"Now, Mason." Rost began, stowing away the stock of post-it runes, "I know our colleagues harmed you quite significantly during your containment, and I know you are afraid; you have good reason to be." he explained calmly, taking a cautious step forward, "You're not the first to be brought into custody in such violent conditions, nor will you be the last."

The tall mage crouched down to eye level with Mason, remaining a few feet away, "But you need to understand things from our point of view; We did not know what form of demon you were prior to your capture, and you refused to come peacefully. Several people had already been endangered by your other side beginning to awaken, and emergency measures had to be taken to contain you before anyone was seriously hurt. But that's over now, you are safe here; and we would like to make you an offer. Your fate rests entirely in the choice you make." he continued, maintaining a calm, reassuring tone. "Director, if you would be so kind as to explain to Mason what his options are?"

"I'd rather not do this, but looks like I don't have much choice." Rost sighed, releasing his grip on the gun inside his jacket and grabbing a stack of post-it notes. The scholarly agent peeled the top note from the stack and affixed it to the door. A glyph drawn on the paper began to glow and pale blue light filled the room; generating a weak suppression aura within the room to push Shadow back into a dormant state. "These spells have a cumulative effect, creating a sort of magical faraday cage on the inside of whatever room they are connected to; preventing the flow of magical energy within it. Each one I place makes it stronger. If I have to, I will continue reinforcing the spell until Mason, not the other half, agrees to talk to us." he warned calmly, peeling another note from the stack and holding it up between two fingers.
@KatherinWinter I'm just working off of what Blue gives me in RP.
@KatherinWinter@Blueflame Crap, took too long typing. Gotta rewrite my post now.

EDIT: finished re-working my post.

"We mean you no harm, Mason." Rost assured the prisoner, taking a step back when the shadows began to manifest, "You're a corrupted human, yes? Not a demon naturally, but one who has been turned, altered in some way?" he asked calmly, slipping one hand into his jacket and wrapping his fingers around the grip on his pistol "In cases such as this, where a human soul is twisted into a demonic one, it is not uncommon for their powers to fragment into a form of split personality. That would be the second voice we're hearing, Director." Rost explained as he hefted the grimoir in one hand, letting it fall opens to the marked page so Mason, Shadow, and the director could see. The page was illustrated with an alteration of the vitruvian man, with one set of arms and legs replaced by twisted, clawed appendages, "Given time, I can use magic to bind and repair the splintering taking place, to restore you to a single cohesive mind. Not Mason, not this other half, but a fusion of both."
@KatherinWinter Maybe Head of Arcane Research?
By the way, I would strongly recommend Mason not try to touch Rost's book, it's the grimoir he inherited from his father and the thing is warded to hell and back six times over to prevent anything that isn't human from trying to use it.
@KatherinWinter@Blueflame

Rost entered the room alongside the director, tucking his grimoir under one arm, "This is the director," he gestured towards his superior, "And I am Rost Smith, the Head of Arcane Research. Our organization specializes in the containment and, if possible, rehabilitation of magical entities such as yourself." the scribe offered in a somewhat cheerful tone, attempting to ease Mason's fears "As the director said, we would like to help you if we can; but I can only give you my aid if you are willing to allow it."
@KatherinWinter

What do you think Rost's official job title would be? He's a very formal kind of guy, so he'd introduce himself by his occupation.

Rost

A tall, blonde man in a blue jacket and carrying a large and very old leather-bound book appeared behind the director shortly after the agency's leader reached Mason's cell . The scholarly man was thumbing through the velum pages of the tome, seemingly searching for a particular passage "Thank you for calling on me, Director." he announced politely as his employer opened the cell door. "I've been preparing to greet this... particular creature, since the first field reports were issued" Rost explained quickly, halting his search through the pages of the book when he found the correct item within, "I suspected you might request my expertise in making sure this Mason fellow could be managed properly." he noted, sliding a printed metal card into his book to mark the page before slamming it shut. "Just give me the word and I'll get to work."
