Current Today I reached the conclusion that, if presented with an exact duplicate of herself, one of my characters would DEFINITELY hit that.

They're not LONG chapters; but the fact I've managed to right 2 meh and 4 half decent ones in 4 days makes me very happy with myself.

Hey man, are you gonna be able to post any time soon? All the other active investigations are almost finished.
@KatherinWinter

Me and Searat are getting close to the end of it, we're doing a collab post to wrap things up.
@Searat

"Alright Bradley. We're gonna take you back to back to our HQ. We've got the resources there to find James, and I think we can do something to help your memory too." The djinn explained calmly, standing up and offering a hand to help the old man, "That's why we do what we do, make sure everyone is safe; nobody gets hurt." The Djinn prepares to lead the elderly wizard to the car, pausing briefly, "You clean up here Richard, I'll get the old man settled into the car. Don't forget to kill the ward; leave the totems though, we might need to set up a field here again."
@Searat

"Bradley, we can help you, but you need to stay with me. Think about this rationally." the Djinn explained, keeping his voice as calm as possible, "The year is 2018, and that letter is dated for 1976. Your grandson James is all grown up now, but you can still meet him. He might even have kids of his own now, wouldn't you still like to meet them?" Argus crouched down in front of Bradley, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder, "We work for an agency specialized in helping people like you, people with magical abilities. We can track down James and his family and take you to them; but you need to calm down first, and come with us." The senior agent glanced over at Richard briefly, "There are several zombies in this area animated by your magic, and you being stressed out is agitating them. We need you to calm down so they don't hurt anyone, okay?" he asked, lowering his voice to a whisper, "You don't want them to hurt anyone, do you Bradley?"
@Searat

"Excuse us a moment, Bradley." Argues noted as he stepped aside with Richard so they could talk out the plan, "I can smell mental deterioration a mile away. He's not evil, just senile; maybe Alzheimers setting in. Feel bad for the poor guy honestly," the Djinn sighed, shaking his head "He seems so excited to meet his new baby grandson and he's gonna turn up to a grown adult." the agent's usual demeanor briefly failing, "Here's what we do. I tell him he's too late, you mention we've got friends who can help him find the kid if he's willing to come with us. He seems to trust us so he shouldn't put up too much fight. We explain the situation, get him registered." he glanced over at Bradley briefly to ensure the wizard hadn't wandered off, "Once he's been registered and cleared I can pull a few strings and we make sure he gets where he's going safely. If we get lucky the family kept up the magic act and we can talk them into taking care of him. If not, we find somewhere safe for him to stay."

He waited to hear Richard's response before returning to Bradley,

"What were we talking about?" he asked, snapping his fingers, "Right, you're a wizard. I smelled the magic from across the cemetery. You could say I've got a nose for the stuff." the Djinn tapped his nose and smiled, "Of course, I'm more of a lizard than A wizard; but I digress." he leaned forward to take a closer look at the letter and confirm the date, "I hate to be the bearer of bad news Bradley, but that letter is dated over 40 years ago. It might be too late to meet the new grandbaby."
@Searat
"I didn't realize the US had been involved with Galliopli, then again history never has been my strong suit. We served with second infantry in Afghanistan; been back for... maybe five years now?" the djinn waited patiently as Bradley attempted to figure out his age, "Over three centuries? That can't be right, unless you're not as human as you look. I don't have much room to talk, though; considering I'm pushing two and a half." The red haired agent simply smiled and nodded, allowing the elderly man to go on about his family, "Does your family know that you're... still alive?" Argus spoke calmly and slowly, attempting not to alarm Bradley with his inquiry. This was the point of no return for their investigation - ideally the aging necromancer would let himself be taken in peacefully. "Would you excuse us a moment? I need to have a word with Richard."
Ended up in the ER with a migraine last night, may take me a day or two to post as my brain is still somewhat fried.
@Searat
"Ah, a fellow military man. What branch?" Argus returned the salute and the smile, "Couldn't agree more. I always go for a walk in the morning - preferably to the liquor store." the Djinn joked, cracking a grin, "That's a lot of greats. Exactly how old are you, if you don't mind my asking?", he observed carefully as Bradley shook 'George' -clearly a friendly gesture- and kept his eyes on the undead, waiting for any sign of aggression from the surrounding zombies, "I must ask, what is George's condition? He's looking a bit worse for wear." the red haired agent inquired further. Bradley was unusually talkative and seemed entirely harmless -nit was just a matter of figuring out how aware he was of his actions and determining an appropriate course of action
@Searat
Argus stood back, allowing Richard to make the first move towards the necromancer and watching the elderly man's reactions; attempting to gauge the old man's stability. As soon as Bradley called him out on eavesdropping, the senior agent joined his partner, pausing briefly to whisper to Richard "Play along. And relax, he's not gonna hurt us. The Zs are reacting to your holy aura." before sitting down on the edge of the fountain's barrier, "We're partners, actually. Served in the same squad." he offered, "I'm Argus, Argus Grau. You'll have to excuse my partner's nerves; We've just come back from the war, you see." he explained, hoping to bait some information out of the suspect. If they could piece together just where -or rather when- Bradley believed he was, it would be easier to detain him peacefully. "It's nice to meet you Bradley, and George as well. he glanced at Richard before continuing, "Out for a morning walk, I suspect?"
@Searat
"I'm lucky the Director didn't fire me on the spot after that incident; got off with an extended sentence because we had no way of knowing it was gonna happen." Argus concluded with a shrug as they approached the source of the laughter. As the agents grew closer the smell in the air began to grow in intensity, reaching its peak as they set eyes on the fountain - and with it, the cluster of undead. The Djinn relaxed when he caught sight of the old man, "Hey Richard, I don't think this guy is a threat. I smell something familiar on him." he mentioned, taking a seat on one of the benches with a clear view of the elderly gentleman and gesturing for Richard to take a seat, "We should approach him gently, stay casual, try to get him talking. Do not try to purify those zombies until I give you the all clear." the red haired agent instructed, "He's in a fragile state, disrupting his illusion would be dangerous to everyone involved." he glanced over at the old man who was still laughing, "Non-violent containment only from this point forward. That man is sick, not a criminal."
