*reconsideration occurs* Actually, it would probably be best if I played one of my other generic characters for this kind of roleplay: the guide. That said, we should get one more person.

Sorry to disappoint you.
KA-BUMP
And now that we have all six, everyone post your request. GO! (With gender please)
0-0 Wow. Lots of people in the first twelve hours! Great!

@Emuxe: We'll see about that reservation, but I had very different intentions powerwise and personalitywise for the Mage and Necromancer. While the Mage would be able to cast, say, elemental spells like fireballs, freezing spells, and large winds (possibly only one depending on their personality), the Necromancer would only summon vast (depending on power) and fairly disposable armies of the undead. He'd only be able to do this a few times a week, though, and be pretty tired afterwards. I wanted to keep all of the classes combat-oriented, and I figured having two different types of magic would be better than just having two different types of swords. Bards aren't exactly combatants, and I don't want to change anyone's species, so Druid is out. Thanks for the input, though.

@Zombehs: Great! Glad to have you!

@Whirlwind: *tears well up* I feel your pain. Great to have someone I can trust for sure!

@Scotsman: THANK YOU for following the rules set in the last paragraph of the OP!! Actually, looking back at this, we have all six people so you can state which class you'd like and if no one else wants it, you're welcome to it! If someone else does want it, I'll ask for character gender and personality (sort of a "before-form") and choose based on that. I don't want to be unfair, but if your character had a personality different from the generic one for that class, that would boost my confidence.

@Dharc: Again, we'll see about your request, and it would be more combative. Knives, daggers, traps, such things like that. And thank you for that self-esteem booster. ^-^
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Aw heck. If I do Pink I could either do a terrifying yandere girl or a punk dude. I'll go with Pink. (For the first time in my life, I voluntarily choose this color.)
Nnngshohsfsdf, can't post now, will have to wait until tomorrow. Sorry, it's just that if I don't get off now I will be killed.
Oh yes, and I want to have an even amount of guys and girls. It doesn't have to be half-and-half, I just want at least 3 guys. (Since girls are so popular in roleplays lately, I figured I should mention this.) Take it as a challenge if you normally play a girl to try a guy instead.
All right then. Hey there, I'm phantori, relatively new to this site. I've been browsing roleplays and interest checks for about two weeks straight and have only found a couple that seemed interesting to me, and of those only one has actually gone into the IC stage. So I'm just going to try for my own.

GMing isn't normally my thing; I've only ever had one successful thread and I'm not even sure you can call it that since most of the people who joined left immediately after posting their character forms, but the real problem was those who showed up, contributed to the plot, interacted with characters, and THEN left. It screwed things up for all of us, wasted posts, and required basically rewinding time to get the plot back on track.

That being said, I'm looking for roleplayers who will stick around until the end, no matter what (though being busy due to school is fine). And, like the actual definition for the Casual Roleplays category says, good grammar and spelling is REQUIRED. I don't care if you're the most creative and interesting person on the planet if I can't read what you're trying to say. I know I sound like a jerk, but it really is a pain to try to figure out where you end your paragraphs if you don't use periods, or to understand the character's dialogue when every other word has a missing letter.

As for plot, I have millions. But only a few that are suitable for actual multi-person writing. (Most are more like short stories.) For this thread, though, I'd like to suggest one I reuse fairly often (in my head anyway): a group of teenagers is sent to an alternate dimension where they find out they are destined to have supernatural powers and to save that world. This one is set in a medieval kingdom, but where the rich have access to almost unlimited technology. They hold it back from the peasants, since technology means power. There is one royal who has been amassing wealth and recently created a robotic army. It has been raiding villages, killing thousands and ruining the lives of more, and someone needs to put a stop to it.

The interesting thing is that magic does exist in this world.

There will only be six teenagers, having powers corresponding to the following generic RPG classes:

  • Mage

  • Knight

  • Paladin

  • Rogue

  • Necromancer

  • Archer

  • I will not allow reservations until I have at least six people, at which point I will approve reservations depending on what personality you want your character to have and which I judge would suit you best. (Also, if I just leave it as "first come, first served" the Mage and Knight are pretty much guaranteed to be taken immediately, regardless of talent. I want some control at least.) However, if no one else is interested in the character you want and all six people are present to give the approval, you're welcome to it.

I hope some people will be interested in this; I'd hate to make yet another thread that goes dead immediately. I'll have character forms up once all the parts are distributed.
"Challenge accepted. But, you know, if the invention of nukes didn't happened, who knows what else could've changed. For all we know, we potentially could have never been born here. So maybe we should find something more....productive..." When she pulled up in front of creepy house, got out, and immediately started talking to someone who looked exactly like her, I bit my lip. "Well, that seemed a little too easy."

Gwar dude was talking to me. "Muskets? And horses? I'm actually impressed you have those on whatever planet you're from, since I seriously doubt horses could have evolved there, much less that an entirely different civilization could come up with muskets identical to Earth weapons. I guess I should give your race some credit."

Your powers are great, though. These are the ones that we could probably use here.
