"Boy, dont you know when you take on something too big for your own skills? If anything at least have a way to escape if it comes down to that, if you don't death is a possibility." Edward said behind the boy as he looked at the beast and sighed before using both of his hands and placed them on the ground and a circle of magic appeared before earthen columns flew up crashing into the beast's belly with it probably being it weak point. The size of the beast was nothing to be underestimated as his eye went back to check the condition of the boy. He was badly injured and this fight would ended more or less with both of them down.
With the earthen columns distracting the beast momentarily, before he slugged some mediocre sized fireballs at the beast and snapped his fingered before a breeze went down into the alley. The fire and wind seemed to mix and then combustion happened causing three big explosion that almost consumed the beast. His magic was so boring, he was lucky his use of science and magic allowed him to combine his versatile amount of magic to create effects powerful than what these could do individually. It was still a shame if he could practice on these powers more, he could actually be good enough to fight by himself with other mages of his level. Edward soon snapped out of his though as his hands waved through the air grew cold, the heat leaving and the moisture gathering before soon the beast's legs and partial part of its body was frozen by the ice. A manipulation of fire to remove the heat, wind to cool it down even more and ice to gather water and freeze. To Damien it was all about combinations and how he could use them with his limited set of powers. It was seriously depressing for him as he then looked back at Justin.
The beast for the most part would of been weakened enough to at least not break out of this ice for the mean time, hopefully as he looked at the younger boy. He sighed healing magic was not his favorite area of spells despite its usefulness, but he simply lacked the aptitude for using that branch except for the most simplest that could heal paper cuts and similar. So he snapped his fingers before the blood and dirt that was caked on the younger man began to rise off his skin and dropped to the ground. With the exception of whatever was in the wounds, Edward didn't want to mess with that as he would leave that to the trained.
"Hey kid, do you want to kill this thing first or go patch up? I can only do so much which sucks, but yeah. If your going to stay behind I'll go to the guild, if you even know where that is of course." Edward said looking at the man, who despite his best efforts still looked messed up and mauled but not as bad as before.
