Name: Joseph Adam Lowe
Age: 5 (Locked at 21)
Gender: Male
Breed/Species/Type/Lineage: Golem
Physical Description:Standing at a height of 6 feet, 7 inches and with a body comparable of a strongman or a powerlifter, Joseph is definitely an imposing figure and not one to be trifled with. Joseph, being a golem, doesn’t have a normal human complexion. Instead, he has skin and flesh analogous to hardened clay. His skin is home to many signs of weathering, with chips and scrapes covering his large body. He doesn’t have any hair; in its place, he has the Hebrew word “emeth” meaning “truth” inscribed on his forehead. He doesn’t have any irises in in his eyes, only the whites of his eyes, radiating an unsettling mystique about him. In terms of facial features, Joseph’s are rather brutish, with a squarish head, a wide forehead with an equally wide nose, a chiseled jaw, and a prominent chin.
In terms of clothing, while typically an admirer of fine suits, his fashion sense could be described as “Business Casual”. A “loose” fit button up, a black pinstripe vest, a leather belt, some light sienna slacks, and grey boat shoes is his usual everyday wear.
Talents:Supernatural Talents: Because he’s technically not alive, he’s effectively immortal. (The only way to “kill” a golem is by scratching off the first letter of “emeth”, making it “meth” meaning “dead” in Hebrew.) Additionally, due to his brick-like body as well as being enchanted, he is very sturdy and immensely dense, anointing him with superhuman strength.
Other Talents: Joseph has become a capable self-taught boxer, with a style similar to Jake “The Bronx Bull” LaMotta.
Being a supernatural aficionado, he has some decent amount of other-worldly knowledge under his belt.
History:Joseph was “born” in Queens, New York City, NY, to a humble rabbi by the name of Grigori Avi Lowe who had gotten too old to have a son of his own. Grigori was something of a hermit, so keeping Joseph a secret was relatively easy… for a while. Trying to keep a six-foot-seven, 400 pound abomination hidden from society is understandably difficult. Only a few other rabbinical elders even knew of his existence and those that did were appalled that Grigori would stoop to such low levels of magic. It wasn’t long before the elders gave Grigori an ultimatum; destroy his creation or leave and have someone else have to destroy it. It wasn’t an especially hard choice.
Grigori figured it would have been pretty simple. He wouldn’t have been expecting it; just a quick blow to the head with a hammer and it would have been over. Little did Grigori know that Joseph was sturdier than your average clay brick; a whack to the head only added a scuff and a massive sense of betrayal. This betrayal sent Joseph into a blind rage, at which point, Grigori’s skull was snugly fit in-between Joseph’s enormous hands until there was no head left.
That was three years ago. That was the last time Joseph was home.
Psychological Profile:A being that typically doesn’t express his true feelings about anything, much about Joseph is shrouded in mystery. He doesn’t engage in extended conversations and is usually relegated to one or two sentences. In spite of this, Joseph has shown some levels of humanity and compassion, albeit briefly. Above all else, he dreams to be human someday, so mortal beings hold a special in place in his consciousness. He is a devout believer of Judaism, which he believes is the first step to being more human (believing in a religion). Overall, a rather genuine person in spite not actually being a person.
Possessions:Joseph doesn’t have many personal effects, although he usually carries a pocket Torah and Grigori’s old yarmulke (he’s doesn’t know why he still carries this thing) on his person. As for other odd and ends, he has an assortment of various religious paraphernalia, not just Judaism, but also Christianity, Eastern Orthodox, Sikh, and Islamic.
Yes, and:Joseph for the longest time had been a vagrant on the streets of New Camden, with no particular direction; he had a goal but no solution to said goal. Recently, he has become an assistant to a young wizard by the name of Alfric Waldheim. While still a relative novice magic user, Joseph believes in Alfric enough that he is willing to wager that he will be his ticket to humanity. Also, considering that Alfric is not especially strong and is rather diminutive, he acts as an impromptu bodyguard of sorts. In spite of only knowing Alfric for about a month and a half, he hopes that there friendship will be a lasting one.
