Doing a slight time skip for Empire side, just to speed things along.
Break, Maim, Smash, Kill. Natsumi's mind was continuously assaulted by notions of violence and unrestrained carnage, she knew the Nine-tails inside of her was effecting her, but she did nothing to stop it. She needed the fox right now, otherwise she would be unable to fight. She let out a tired breath from her mouth, steam pouring out like a tea kettle past boiling point. The flames around her body were becoming hotter by the moment, as they mixed with the volatile chakra from Kurama she lost control over them. Her hair flared upwards in concert with the flames, the tips burning like the wick of a candle. She needed to finish this before she ended up as nothing more than a pile of ashes.

Focusing her eyes, she saw Kenta in the distance, he was trying to escape. She charged after him once more, as she did, she felt as if something important had slipped her mind, for now she ignored it. Something was in the way of her target, glancing at it for a split second she saw that it was Kaede. That was odd to her, as a medic she should be behind the main lines, what had she missed? Kenta looked ready to strike once more at Kaede, she couldn't let that happen. Leaping into the air, Natsumi used her flames to propel herself downwards. She needed to find a way to deal damage to Kenta, her last attack had been dodged too easily, a way to prevent an escape was necessary. Her jutsu needed more power, it was that simple. Right before she landed in front of Kenta the flames on her body and the Fox's chakra converged in her arms. Straining every muscle in her arms and hands she gripped her fans and slammed them down on the ground. Her wind and fire chakra mixed to create a deadly combination, the air pressure caved in around the point of impact, causing a vacuum effect for a second. After that second, the entire space in front of her erupted into a tsunami of fire. The ground became a killing floor, grass burning and the dirt turning black, the air was a sea of heat and red, a veritable space of death where nothing in front of her would be spared.

The flames soon vanished, and Natsumi fell to her knees, exhausted, the physical traits of the Nine-tails went away, as did it's chakra and her Righteous Immolation. Her Sharingan deactivated, and she looked down at her arms which were hanging limply by her sides like the arms of a puppet, they were burned horribly, so badly she couldn't even feel any pain. She looked back at Kaede with watery eyes, remembering what it was that had slipped her mind. She was trying to avoid killing Kenta.

"Kaede..." She wasn't sure if she should beg for forgiveness for her reckless behavior, or for her to heal her arms before she lost them.

As she walked back into her room, Shoko heard a light knock from the exiting door, opening it, she saw that her visitor was Namine. "Feeling better, Namine?" Shoko asked, stepping out of her room and closing the door behind her. "Walk with me." She said, tapping Namine on the shoulder and walking forward. "I am sure you are curious as to what has happened, though I am positive you already have an idea. You must have felt the conflict within Konoha, there was a revolt staged by the rebels, and unfortunately, they will no doubt be successful." Reaching into her large sleeves, Shoko pulled out a copy of the peace treaty and handed it to her. "I need to enact this treaty as soon as possible, and secure the remaining villages. With their loyalty the rest of the rebels should be forced to give up on their endeavors... I cannot let this fail now, not when I am so... close." The Empress's voice trailed off as she passed by the conference room. To say that it looked as if a twister had blown through would be a disservice to tornadoes. She walked into the entrance, making sure everyone inside had her attention.

"We are leaving soon, so prepare and come down to the main gate."
"The collection is going smoothly, I assume?" Shoko asked, standing in a rather dimly lit room. Countless wax candles adorned the walls and floor, the only space to walk was a path from the entrance to an altar in the back. Wispy, almost ethereal blue flames waved slowly from the wicks of the candles, giving the room an azure tint.

"As it always is, Empress." A clear, deep voice answered, it came from a man seated in the center of the room. This man almost appeared to be a pile of darkness in the dark room, He wore a dark robe, had long, obsidian hair, and eyes that seemed to drag in light like a black hole. His pale hands were held together, keeping a handsign stable as he manipulated a jutsu.

"They may have been cutthroat mercenaries, but you will give them a proper burial after you take a sample from them, understood?" Shoko said. The man let out a derisive scoff.

"But of course, you would not want their corpses to defile your land with their stench."

"Not exactly. Even though it was according to how I have foreseen, the death of so many is nothing I can take pride in. It was my campaign that drew rabble like them to become so desperate, after all." Shoko turned to leave, but the man called to her. "What is it, Honjo?" She asked, turning back to him.

"I heard the rebels have taken back Konoha, yet you will continue this plan? The villages may not welcome your peace treaty with such welcome arms." The man spoke in an indifferent tone, as if he hardly cared of the issue he spoke of, and only wished to see her reaction.

"The rebels have complicated the matter, but I will have them stand down. If not for their actions, this world would be but a step away from peace." Shoko said, turning and leaving, not choosing to entertain Honjo's shallow curiosity any longer.

Heading to her private quarters, Shoko opened the door to her room. Her room was oddly bland, containing only the bare essentials. The floor was stone, the windows covered by drab curtains. In a corner was her wardrobe, only a few feet away from her king sized bed. She walked to the back of the room, where another door was placed. Placing her hand upon it, the iron door shimmered with a ripple of light before sliding open, walking inside, it closed behind her. What she had entered was another room, this one in stark contrast to her own bedroom. The walls were painted a vibrant blue, and soft carpeting hugged the floor. There was no window, yet light radiated from the ceiling via a chandler made of glowing crystals. A bookshelf in the back of the room covered nearly the entire wall, it was full of books of all kinds, from children's coloring books to medical texts explaining human biology. A large canopy bed with silken sheets and pillows sat at the back of the wall. Next to the bed was a desk, where a young girl was sitting, reading a thick book detailing alchemy. The young girl was around fourteen years old, she had long pale hair and red eyes very much similar to Shoko's. Her legs didn't quite reach the floor from her elevated seat, so she swung them back and forth as she hummed a cheery tune to herself. "Yukiko." Shoko called out to the girl. She turned her head to see the Empress, and smiled.

"M-mother!" She put the book down, and hurried to Shoko. A gentle hand was placed on the girl's head.

"How are you feeling, dear?" Shoko asked. Yukiko's eyes wandered, appearing anxious and contemplative. She cupped her small chin with her hands.

"Um, my chakra system is stable at the moment, however, every now and then I can feel disruptions..." Yukiko said, biting the nail of her thumb as she thought. Yukiko was a young girl that had hardly seen the outside world, yet she knew more than most adults did. Shoko had made sure that her time spent in isolation would not go to waste, and began teaching her as much as possible. As a result, it was fair to say the girl possessed a genius intellect. Her social skills however, suffered as a result of her only speaking to a few people in her life. The room she lived in had cost a great sum of money, and took great effort to seal. It was nearly impervious to all forms of sight and sound, no sense or jutsu could penetrate it. Her daughter's existence was a secret known only by a select sparse few. She could not let the world know about her, lest she become endangered.

Shoko patted her daughter's head, snapping her out of her thoughts. "Do not worry dear, I will find a way to heal you, and soon, the world will be a peaceful enough place for you to leave this room in safety." She said. Yukiko nodded her head in understanding, but was silent for a moment. Yukiko didn't look like it, but she was suffering from a strange illness that caused her chakra system to flux in odd ways, causing various negative effects to her health. Shoko had studied every similar case she could, but found nothing like it, if she were to heal her daughter, she needed something extraordinary.

"Departing already?" She asked, looking up at her mother with worried eyes. The girl was awfully sharp.

"Yes, be strong while I'm away, alright?"

Yes, mother." Yukiko's head turned down as if a weight had been placed on it. She tried to hide her disappointment, but acting was not something she was good at. Shoko leaned down, and embraced her in a tight hug.

"I will be back, I promise."

"Don't say that, the characters in books that say that always die." Yukiko didn't want to let her mother go, every time she left she feared that she might not return. But she could not hold on to her forever, she had to let her go, she had to watch her leave her room and head into the world once more...

Contrary to the suggestions of the medic-nin that had tended to her, Nikuya was up and about, walking through the castle. She had found a change of clothes, and her hair was back to it's ankle long length. Her new scars ached, but she was hardly bothered by them. The thought that she had let Kenji wound her so gravely did not bother her much either. She could hardly blame him for being so upset, more than half a year ago she had helped defeat him in Konoha alongside the Empress. It was a petty reason for revenge in her eyes.

Nikuya walked by the conference hall, and heard a commotion. Opening the door she stared blankly at the sight before her. Wet paper balls had been thrown all across the room, and Yakoul was standing on the center table, acting like.... a Yakoul. It seemed to be bored, that was the easiest explanation as to why it was teasing Izari and throwing spit balls everywhere. Nikuya walked up to Yakoul. "Yakoul, if you wanna party so bad you can just come get wasted with me, you don't have to threaten to sexually assault your comrades." Nikuya reached into a pocket and tossed a jug of sake to Yakoul. Getting the creature drunk was probably a bad idea, but frankly Nikuya was simply curious to see the results.
I don't mind explicit language, I'd just prefer the RP not turn into a sext thread.

I'll post soon, when my brain stops... vibrating.
Natsumi gritted her teeth in frustration. "He just can't help being a teacher, can he?" She grumbled to herself. Kenta had no intention of winning this battle, from the start he had decided to die. He was holding back, but so was she. Of course she could have intercepted him in the air, she could hit a shogi piece square in it's center at this range. She was capable of it, but she didn't have it in her to attack him knowing she could actually kill him. Unwanted memories kept barging into her mindscape, reminding her that who she was fighting was a friend. The tight grip on her fans lessened, wobbling in her shaking hands until she relinquished them to the ground. She didn't want to do this, she didn't want to be here. Natsumi wanted things to go back to normal, for her to enjoy having tea with Kaede and her cousin Makoto. Her legs buckled, and she fell to her knees and closed her eyes in shame. She was unable to move, the will was gone.

"Pathetic. Once again, you've shown me how pathetic you are." A deep voice that shook her soul snarled at her. Natsumi's body quaked, she felt helpless, she knew she was pathetic. "If you want to fight, all you need to do is give me control. Let go, Natsumi Uchiha." The nine-tailed fox tempted her, giving her a way out of this dreadful situation. All she had to do was let go, just a little. Letting go for just a moment couldn't be worse than this, it just couldn't.

Natsumi said nothing, but for a split moment, she thought that it wouldn't be so bad to give herself up to the power of the demon fox. A moment was all it took. A minute trace of demonic red chakra poured from her body, the feeling was both terrifying and euphoric. Her body swelled with power that was unfamiliar yet intoxicating. Sharp fangs protruded from her mouth, her nails sharpened into grotesque claws, and her eyes morphed into an abomination of tomoe and fierce feline pupils. Now, she could fight, it was the only thing on her mind.

Her eyes scanned the battlefield, taking in information to make up for her inattentiveness. A rocky dome, a crumbling wall. Structures that had not been there before, useless information, that wasn't what she was looking for. Her eyes scrolled over towards Kenta, and locked in place on him. He appeared to have just finished attacking someone, she didn't bother looking to see who it was, all she saw was an opening. Natsumi quickly grabbed her fans from the ground, and charged towards her target. Her feet were moving too slow, she had to arrive faster, faster or the opening would be wasted. Her body lit aflame with Righteous Immolation, it's fire swirling like a crazed storm as it mixed with the fox's chakra. Her right foot slammed into the ground, shattering it like glass and launching her forward. Her body spun in the air once, giving her just the right momentum to slice into Kenta with her fans as she arrived at his location. Searing hot wind blasted from her fans, making them dangerous to attempt to block.
Why does Katsu hate trees?
Sketcher, you stated in a prior post that four kunai that missed hit trees, while the other two were flying towards Kenta. So he didn't miss 2 out of 4 kunai, he missed 4 out of 6 that were thrown. And I didn't see anything done with the ones that missed, they're just stuck in the trees, not flying towards Kenta. So I don't know what he was supposed to be planning.

Also, Natsumi didn't fire a fireball at him. I didn't say that. Why is he dodging a fireball that was not even hinted to be flying towards him?
Waiting for the rest of her loyal subjects to arrive, Shoko sat peacefully at the table, her hands interlocked and her eyes closed. There was something unsettling her, and she wasn't the sort to be unsettled without good reason. Forming hand signs, she created multiple shadow clones of herself, and sent them out to retrieve the rest of her ninja, dragging them back if need be.

With everyone in attendance, Shoko stood from her seat to address them all. "With the threat of mercenary bands now gone, I believe it is time to enact some changes in the world. Over the course of my conquest I have tied down the many great villages, my intent to let them learn what life without freedom is. It's hard, of course, after all, freedom is something people are born believing they are entitled to. They are wrong, freedom must be earned, lest it be taken for granted and abused. Ever since I have been in power the global economy has been balanced, and crime has been nearly stamped out. Yet, There are those who are not content with the way things are, as expected." Shoko knew those in her company knew who she was referring to, the Rebels were the last hurdle in her vision of a truly peaceful world, one where war and famine were things of the past. It pained her to fight war with war, and so she tried her best to avoid conflict whenever possible, and never waged war in populated areas. But war was war, no matter how she tried to lessen it's effects, and as such the Rebels were a group keen on seeing her and the Empire burn to the ground.

Shoko reached into her left sleeve, and pulled out a scroll with her white and red emblem emblazoned upon it. "This is a peace treaty, a week ago I sent an envoy to each of the great villages, and today is the day that the treaty will be shown to them." She sat the scroll down on the table, allowing the ninja gathered to read it's contents if they so wished. "I will be personally visiting each of the villages to discuss the conditions of the treaty, if things do not go as planned I may need to alter the arrangements. You all will be my escort." She had not spoken much in this meeting, but her point was clear. She did not want to waste any time in fulfilling her last objective. "Rest today, for tomorrow we will travel to Suna. Dismissed." Shoko said.

Before anyone had the chance to leave, the large wooden doors to the room swung open violently. Standing at the door's entrance was a bloodied and bruised Nikuya. Her signature long hair had been torched by the Hokage's fire jutsu, leaving her with a rather rough tomboyish haircut. Her clothes almost looked like charcoal ready to be thrown into a furnace. "Oh... The summoning jutsu worked..." Nikuya spoke between ragged breaths, her eyes glazed over as if she wasn't fully conscious. Shoko ran to the battered ninja, and caught her as she fell forwards. "Empress.... You shouldn't... I'm getting my blood all over you..." Nikuya grinned, actually happy to see a friendly face. Shoko gently laid her down upon the ground, her eyes slumped in worry. "I don't look that bad do I? You haven't looked at me like that since the first time we met."

"You almost look like a corpse Nikuya, you have a shuriken stuck in your shoulder for heaven's sake. Who did this to you?" Shoko asked. Nikuya's eyes averted from the Empress, she hated to be the one saying this.

"Kenji fucking Uchiha, the Hokage. The Rebels decided to stage a revolt, one that's gonna be successful given their numbers... I'm sorry, at such a crucial time I've failed you, why did it have to be... Today." Nikuya's demon like eyes were glassy, She had one job, one very important job, and she failed it, in turn failing the one woman she respected. Shoko placed a hand on her forehead, her visage remaining the same.

"Do not worry, Nikuya, We have not failed. This is a set back, but it does not change things." Nikuya barely heard Shoko's words, but they were enough to let her slip out of consciousness with a content smile.

Medic-nin carried Nikuya to the infirmary. Shoko stood silent for a moment, her back to the ninja behind her. "...No rest. We leave for Suna in two hours."

Natsumi's eye's narrowed as Kenta spoke to her. She did not retort. Her throat was anxious and painful, as if she were keeping down a bad meal of razors. Hearing him complement her of all things only reminded her that he was still the kind man that looked out for her as a child. She didn't want to do this, she never wanted to do this. Her hands tightened around the grips of her fans until her knuckles turned white, why didn't he just give up?

Her eyes shifted as she noticed movement behind Kenta, a placid presence on a battlefield like this could only be one person, Kaede. For a moment her body tensed as she saw the line of Empire soldiers in her way, at a moments notice a battle could break out, however, Kenta simply let Kaede through. The enemy cautiously backed away from her, allowing her to pass and stand near her and Takeo. Kaede confronted Kenta, asking him why he had decided to betray his village. Natsumi lowered her head, it didn't matter what Kenta had to say, she had heard every excuse already anyway. There was no justification for the laws that had been forced upon them, none at all.

"Huh?" The mention of a scroll propped her head upwards, and her attention was turned towards her grandfather. Takeo produced the scroll in question, it bared the mark of the Empress. He explained it's contents, they were the conditions for a peace treaty. the tension in her body dispersed, as she ran through her mind just what this meant. The War would end, and no one would be oppressed any longer. If they accepted the treaty then no one else would need to die, they could live in peace and she wouldn't have to do something as painful as brandishing her weapons at a friend. But it seemed her thoughts were not shared with Takeo and Kaede. Why? What did they want? Takeo wanted the Empress to surrender, which would no doubt result in her death. People wanted revenge, of course. Not only that, but they wanted their power back, the right to decide things for themselves. Justification for their lives, feelings of pride and overcoming adversity, they wanted that back, Natsumi understood that.

Kenta was not making his case to anyone here, it simply was not going to happen.

“This isn’t how I wanted things to be.”

Natsumi noticed a change in Kenta, as if he had decided something grave. Takeo left her and Kaede with cryptic words. "W-what we must do? Wait where are you going!?" Natsumi cried out as her grandfather left. She was confused, she didn't know why Takeo had left, and she didn't know what Kenta was planning on doing. Kaede tried to plead with him to stop one final time, but Kenta's mind was made up. She saw him take a green pill out, and her heart skipped a beat. He planned to die here. "Kenta, please no!" Natsumi screamed at the top of her lungs, but her words could not stop him. A strong aura of chakra burst forth from his body, and he wasted no time in attacking Kaede.

For a split moment Natsumi was stunned, she couldn't believe this was happening, it was as if she were in a nightmare. Her body's instincts kicked in, and she was forced to take part in this battle. Two others had acted before her, first, a boy threw two shuriken at Kenta, she registered that they were not much of a threat. However, the boy then launched explosive kunai at Kenta. Her eye's gauged their path through the air, and she saw that some would miss, and two would hit Kenta. At the same time, a female ninja had rocketed towards Kaede, intending to knock her out of the way of Kenta's attack. All the while, Natsumi's hands had formed the signs needed to preform a jutsu. Her cheeks puffed up, and she blew out a stream of wind from her mouth. The wind was strong enough to pick the female ninja off her feet and out of harms way, as well as knock the explosive tags out of the way. Natsumi gritted her teeth in anger. "Who said you could do that!?" She screamed in frustration. "Those explosives could have hit Kaede, four hit trees, do you even know what you're doing!?" It wasn't like her to lash out at people, but her emotions were getting the better of her in this situation. "Kenta!" She yelled, her voice a cocktail of anger and tears. "I'm not going to let you die, don't just think you can do whatever you want!" Her hands moved once more, cupping her mouth with a single hand she blew a large fireball directly towards him.
