Ace reached out and caught his katana, cringing as his wounded arm pulsed with pain. The venom was spreading upwards, slowly crawling to his forearm and into his shoulder. "I'm just glad you showed up." He said between clenched teeth. His arm was starting to feel numb, which was bound to affect the speed of his attacks. He looked around, the Heartless were behaving strangely, going after Gavin one moment, and the rest of them the next. It was as if they were fighting their gluttonous instincts. Slicing his way through a few Shadows he ran to Lin's side. "We may need to kill these two... but you already know that, don't you?" There was something different about Lin, he wasn't sure what had caused it, but there was a look in her eyes that told him he could rely on her.

Ryoko frowned at her reddening hands, and glared at the pyromaniac with the stick. She couldn't decide if her heat or Gavin's ice was more of a nuisance. There was also something odd about the boy's blade, for some reason she felt resistance when she swung it. He didn't appear to have any control over the blade like the girl did her staff, otherwise he would have simply summoned it back to his hands when she took it from him. Ryoko scoffed and focused on the bigger issue at hand. She was outnumbered, the Heartless that were meant to give her an advantage weren't doing their job. Two of the girls had focused on crowd control, making sure minimal Heartless made it through to interfere.

Her eyes looked to Salforge in her peripheral vision, He had been fighting with the boy marked marked for death, and making quite a bit of noise while he was at it. "Just unplug the ice box would you?" She said, brushing flecks of ice from her shoulder.

Salforge created a minefield in the alley, a fairly surreal scene to the rebels. Ace picked up a stone and tossed it at one of the boxes, it did just what he thought it would and exploded.

"Whoa whoa!" Shizuka screamed as she was in the middle of suplexing a Neoshadow. "What the heck are we supposed to do about that!?" They backed away from the hazards, and in doing so surrounded themselves with more Heartless.

"Lin, can you ignite these mines?" Ace asked. "If you can get them out of the way, the rest of us could rush him and take the heart from him."
Kanoa glared at Jackson due to his outburst. She told him to try and contain himself, and he promised he would. Obviously promises didn't mean very much to him. She ignored him as he tried to explain himself, and turned to Mary. Mary's reaction to the interior of the house lit a match in her head, she forgot for a moment that not everyone was as nonchalant about the paranormal as she was. Apparently the burning vines in particular were fascinating to Mary, even getting a joyful squee out of her. She soon noticed that she was acting out of character, because she stood up and attempted to play off her whimsical persona by getting straight to business. "You want Jackson to guard the door? I don't see why not." She glanced over to the boy that looked as if he were cosplaying Rambo, who was quick to retort to her name calling.

He doth protest just a tad too much...

Kanoa tapped her chin as he asked why a Kitsune would kidnap a young boy. "There are a number of reasons, the main one being a source of life force. They can feed off of it, you see. Even still, the last known case of a hostile Kitsune was over fifty years ago, if I recall correctly." She said.

Danny meanwhile was busy trying to logically explain how any of this could work. Kanoa watched rather amused, wondering if she should tease him and say it was 'just magic.' There was an entire system of magic that explained how these things worked, but it would take a lecture to define all of it right now, and they had things to do.

"Up stairs huh." Kanoa glanced into the other room. "Don't worry about that, if there was anyone in here they would have made their presence known by now, if not from our spiritual aura, then from the noise we've made." As if on cue Orion began to fiddle with the guitar. Filling the cabin with notes that clouded her vision in colors. She blinked a few times, trying not to get a headache. "We probably shouldn't be going out of our way to make noise, however..." She walked up to him and took the guitar from his hands. "August, here." She handed the string instrument to the redhead, hoping she could sense anything from it.

Walking into the next room she was hit with a strong smell of grounded plants. The smell was familiar to her, as her family had a stock of various ingredients for use in casting spells. To her left she saw garden beds, where plants were growing straight out of the ground and kept in square plots by wood. In a corner of the room was a large black cast iron cauldron, the faint scent of what she assumed to be rabbit soup drifted from it. Near it was a table of living wood, on top of which were tools such as a mortar and pestle, as well as various solvents. In the other corner of the room were stone pots full of drinking water next to six wine barrels.

Kanoa walked up to the table and pinched a pile of powder between her fingers. "Odd... I don't know why a Kitsune would bother making potions, some of these ingredients are only good for magical purposes. A Kitsune should be able to use magic on their own..." Kanoa hummed in thought, and turned to the others. "Mary, could you take a look at some of these plants with me, I have a feeling you'd recognize them more easily than I would. August, Orion, Daniel, take a look around upstairs for anything noteworthy. Stay on your toes everyone, just in case this fox spirit does come back." She said to the group.
god I have no idea what I'm doing here but uhh... I tried to make a rather simple map of the house using a rpg software thing.

I made the layout of the other room, which hasn't been mentioned yet, so you guys can interact with it freely and gather clues. wine stolen from town, (lots of it) and an alchemy workstation for creating potions.

On floor 2 there is a stock of food and boxes of stolen clothing, mostly women's clothing. In the side room there's a bed where the missing student slept. A few strands of his black hair can be found on it, and those with sensory abilities will be able to sense feelings of dazed serenity.

I'll try to post later today, I think I'm coming down with something... :/
So uhh, gonna try something a little... different here. I'm gonna try and flesh out the layout of the tree house, spread clues and such around for you guys to see, so you aren't forced to follow my coat tails and all...
Oh god this is the second time Linkin Park has been brought up what is happening

pfft whatever, i-it's not like I liked Darcs's post or anything, idiot.

really though, I always appreciate character's being fleshed out.
Dammit Darcs don't spoil it
The tree house cabin thing appears as just a big tree to normal plebs. And trust me, I didn't start this with the intent of things being uber dark and edgy. (I have a slow running Kingdom Hearts RP for that ;-;) Subtly is the name of the game.

As for the student being there, that'd be too easy.
I think homosexuality has just gotten to that point where it's widely accepted enough that people don't react by either

becoming grossed out, calling everyone a fag, whining about how society is screwed

or

becoming offended at the mere mention of their sexuality being appropriated for something not serious and/or progressive.

well, Unless you're watching Fox news or browsing the bad side of tumblr that is.

On topic of le RP, let's have a bit of a vote... or a poll. Kidnapped student: dead, or alive?
Ace slid his right foot backwards, and evaded Gavin as he flew towards him. His eyes still on Salforge and Ryoko, he reached out and grabbed Gavin by the collar, stopping his momentum. He let him go, and placed a hand on the hilt of his sword. "Gavin." He said, looking ahead. "I don't care about how much darkness you have inside of you right now, I'll deal with it later. At the moment, I need you to work with us. If you don't, then I have little reason to keep putting the others at risk on your behalf. Got it?" Ace drew an inch of his katana from it's sheath and took a step forward, but stopped as the Empire mercenary summoned Heartless. Shizuka and Osa quickly ran to his side.

"Ace, we need to do something these Heartless, as long as that man has that heart he will never run out of soldiers." Osa said. Ace knew this, and been glaring at the heart in the man's hand.

"Maybe we could get it out of his hands?" Shizuka said. "He shouldn't be able to use it then, right?" Ryoko let out a laugh.

"Good luck with that, it will be damn near impossible as long as his immovable blocks surround it. You're only hope is to deal with the both of us fair. And. Square." She said. A Heartless lunged for Shizuka, she hardened her arm into steel and bashed it into the alley wall. Their numbers were growing exponentially, and they were quickly running out of space.

"Osa, Shizuka, handle these Heartless, Gavin, distract that guy with the heart, but don't do anything too risky. I'll try to take care of the woman. Leaving Shizuka and Osa to pummel Shadows, Ace dashed forward to engage Ryoko. Blades of blood formed from the wounds in her palms, each in the shape of a machete. Ace swung his sword at her side, but the blow was blocked by one of her black blades. "Huh?" He tried to pull his blade back, but it was stuck inside of her machete. She yanked on the katana, pulling Ace towards her. Her knee slammed into his gut, and as he tried to free his katana she swung at his free arm; she barley missed cutting his arm off, only leaving him with a shallow gash.

Ace let go of his blade and jumped back, he stumbled as a wave of pain shoot through his arm. "Feeling it already huh? My own brand of venom, homemade just for you." Ryoko said with pleasure. Her blood seeped back into her palms, and she took hold of Ace's katana. "Funny looking thing, never seen a katana with a chain attached to it. Oh well, I think I'll keep it anyway. I'm going to need that sheath, though, aren't I?"
I wonder what's going on in my thre- oh
