Mai'lo shrugged. "Well enough I suppose. Hooked up with the world walkers that same day, actually. Del and his brother are a little weird but they're good people. And they're sure efficient." He shrugged again, one shoulder lifting slightly before dropping back down.

He stood, pushing his chair back with a loud rattling noise as the feet scrapped across the wooden floor. "I'm gonna head out and see what kind of trouble I can scare up," he said. "I'll probably be seeing you around a lot more. Del castle tends to get the group together as often as possible to farm experience and loot. We should be heading out looking for some ore or something in the next day or two as I understand it."

Normally not really. He came down with a highly contagious but pretty common respiratory infection. By itself, no big deal. Antibiotics and rest and you're good. BUT, since this kid seems to live by 'go big or go home', he also had the very beginnings of a case of bacterial pneumonia, and he has a very mild case of asthma. Add it all together and they had him on a 24 hour drip of antibiotics, asthma treatments every three hours, and he had that oxygen hose on his nose for two out of the three and a half days cause he just couldn't pull enough in on his own.

So yes and no. It could have been serious but they had it under control, just took some time to get him recovered enough that he could go home.

Day 16 midday. Level 12

Mai'lo glanced at Emperor as the others left the table and grunted quietly before draining the last of his tankard. "Yeah. We met back on day one, just outside town here, remember? I was part of the group that had just lost a member in a battle with some bears."

He leaned back in his seat and laced his thick fingers together behind his head. "How've you been keeping yourself the last couple of weeks?"

"Uh... wah? Citadel?" Rhys babbled incoherently for s moment before he managed an intelligible word. "W-w-What citadel? I just logged in this morning, I've never played this game before."

He shook his head roughly for a second and closed his eyes, taking a deep, calming breath. It didn't do much but when he looked at her again he straightened up, squaring his shoulders and looked her over quickly, hoping it didn't come off like he was checking her out.

She was equipped with armor and weaponry indicative of an experienced player. She at least had to be a higher level player than he was. The armor hid her figure well, but it was obvious she was a beautiful woman with dark skin and hard, determined eyes.

"I'm Rhys," he said, finally. "Rhys Devereux. Like I said I'm new to the game, and I know we just met, but do you think I could tag along with you for a bit? At least until I can level up some? There's something wrong with my health bar and I'm not sure how well I'll survive on my own in here." He winced mentally at how desperate he sounded but it couldn't be helped. She seemed nice enough and if they could help each other out, mores the better.

sorry for the delay. My youngest spent four days this past week in the hospital so I've been understandably distracted. I'll try to get on a post by tomorrow as I'm starting a new graveyard post with work tonight. He's home now and doing better so things are looking up.
