As soon as the two are seated Rei swiftly makes his way over to the bushes behind the bench, his keen eyes staring through the foliage, his body still as a stone. His magic trickles out a little more, getting a firmer look at those seated before him, and he allows himself to relax ever so slightly. 'I feel no real threat from her' His focus instead shifts to the prince, watching the expression on his face, the motions of his body. Almost every little thing seems to scream 'false!', but despite Rei knowing this he can tell the young man is quite convincing. Despite the boring nature of the conversation Rei's focus never wavers. He even notes the exact moment the girl in the window vanishes subconsciously and as the two of them once more rise to move on Rei's path is less secretive, being able to move more openly now that the couple are no longer being watched from above. He pauses just within earshot as the woman turns, his own body spinning casually out of sight before she can spot him. His sense of danger rises at the thought of going back out into town, on horses no less. 'Keeping him safe on horse back is not easy as it is, but having a third part along. . .It is not me job to question however, just to do. . .' He nods to himself, a part of him glad that he won't have to try and hide the fact that he's following them while riding a horse. He's good but he's not quite sure how to pull that off. At the next part however he pauses, his eyes slowly lowering to look himself over. 'A girl?' Shrugging it off for now his head tilts. That joke about him being peculiar sounded almost honest and for an instant Rei wonder why that, of all things, sounded different to how he's sounded for the past hour. As soon as they slip out of sight he is less than a handful of paces behind them, his presence masked by both his skill and the steady stream of servants sill catering to those inside. He looks about, noting the decrease in the numbers wandering the main hall and keeping carefully out of sight of the prince's father. Soon enough they are on the move again and to many sideways glances tossed his way by the servants he slinks along looking both out of place and completely innocuous. The stables are not too far from the front door so he pauses there, flagging down a servant. The middle aged man approaches him a little nervously and he does his best to look harmless as he requests his riding gear from earlier in the day. 'I may as well look “respectable” for this. Perhaps even less like a girl. . .Although I am not sure what that has to do with anything. Female assassins are just as good as male ones, though I suppose the reputation of men making better warriors has not yet died out around here. . . .' About the time the princess begins checking her horse over the servant returns with his official looking gear and quickly he slips into it, smoothing it down quickly before stepping out. He knows the prince didn't ask for it, but as long as the young man is pretending to be the perfect prince, Rei may as well at least try and pretend to be a respectable bodyguard. Other than his clothes however he doesn't change the way he is. His walk is still more of a glide and his hand rests constantly on his dagger. He smiles as he hears Alessandro mention that he should be right along, the smile coming just in time for the lady to glance his want and catch it. She stills, staring openly at the strange little man approaching, however other than a nod Rei pays her no mind, his smile falling moments later. Looking instead to the prince he offers another nod before moving over to mount Silver. Murmuring to her silently in his own fae way the two of time come to the consensus that the girl now mounting her own horse is not the most pleasant person.
The Mysterious Fae Child Name: Zevri Torrnic, Riverwalk Clan Age: 11 Personality: Curious and determined, he seems to have an agenda all his own. He seems to look beyond such things that drive most of his clan to reject Rei's presence, seeing something else in the man. He does not seem to follow along with what most people think, very independent and determined to make his own choices in life.
The Assassin Name: Rei Torrnic, Riverwalk Clan Race: Fae Age: 24 Height: 5' 1” Weight: 110lbs Hair: Blond Jareth mullet with faint purple streaks. Eyes: Icy blue, no pupils Skin: Pale, but naturally colored above the eyes and over the eyelids with a faint purple color that matches the hair. Build: Gymnast build, with wiry but powerful muscles. Clothes: Skin tight one piece that goes to the wrist, ankles, and up the neck. The wrists come to a point over the back of the hand, and the legs have a part that runs under the middle of the foot like a strap to keep it in place. The whole thing is dark blue in color with white designs on the chest in a 'V' pattern that resembles white caps of waves that is mirrored in a slightly smaller section on the back. Along the legs and lower arms are very fine seaweed embroideries that look sorta like ivy vines and leaves. When not working he wears a simple loincloth with similar patterns. Accessories: A woven rope belt, silver and gold in color, used to hold his knife sheath of simple brown leather. Powers/Skills(If Applicable): Rei is a precision killer, and uses a relatively small blade. It's 6 ½ inches long, and resembles a small rapier. He has memorized the vital areas of several races, including the animals he hunts for food on occasion. He has excellent bare handed climbing skills, finding even minute hand and footholds too small for others. He has lightning quick reflexes, and has amazing control over his breathing and heartbeat. As part of the Riverwalk clan he can be underwater for very long periods of time without needing to come up for air. General Personality: Rei is very cold and distant from everyone. The only times he seems to be anything else is when he alone in the wild talking to nature, and right before each kill. When alone in the wild he seems to be very lonely and troubled. Before each kill, he seems to have a flicker of sympathy. Other than that, he is very unapproachable and a bit unnerving. Background: Rei grew up far away from his clan, having been kidnapped as a small child. The group that took him were ordered to kill his family, but one of the raiding party saw no point in killing a baby, so he took him in and began training him. Rei learned quickly, his race's natural abilities aiding in his learning, and by the time he reached age nine, he was getting his own assassination jobs. After his fifth job his mentor told his about how he came to live with the human, and said that if he one day wanted revenge, he was free to try. It took six years for Rei to take out the other men and woman in the raiding party. By then he was fifteen. Only his mentor was left, and the man encouraged him to complete the job. It became almost a running game for Rei and his mentor. Rei still took missions, but for two years he had his own mission to work on. He came close several time until one day he succeeded. His mentor died in Rei's lap, his last words being ones of pride to have raised such a fine, talented young man. Rei then returned to his clan, his parent's family and friends providing him a small home to live in. Having always been on the move, he accepted the hut, but tended to stay either out on the woods or out under the stars on the open plains. A few of the elders know what he does for a living, and when he began learning about his heritage and the innate abilities his clan and race have, a couple tried to object. However, the grand elder decided that learning such things could be the thing to turn him away from a life of killing for profit. The Riverwalk clan takes no issue with killing for what's right, such as fighting to defend people and the like, and indeed they have aided the humans to the south from time to time in their wars. Rei had never learned to read, so when he began trying to learn more about their history, one of the people who were in charge of the upkeep of the village's library took him under her wing and taught him. He learned quickly, and soon he was reading everything he could get his hands on, both in the village and when he was on assignment. To this day, he still seeks out new books every time he has a spare moment in any given town or city.
I will add in my bit once I have my head in the right place. Good job on all that. Dead prince was hot :P ANd the bookstore kid is adorable!
At his side the stranger snaps to attention. A part of him deep inside wonders if he too could sense the human's presence in the distance however he dismisses this thought quickly. 'How could he know, he just another human. He doesn't have senses like mine. . . .' His breathing continues to quicken and he knows if he does not calm down, and soon, he may actually become ill. However he can not stop the images. All the horrors running through his head of what could happen to him. Travelers would often tell stories, and with his interest in places other than his little village Viltez would always listen. Unfortunately that had also given him the fuel he needed for all his nightmares. They would speak at length of some beast man or another coming into town and stealing food or something and go on to say how the people reacted. He'd even heard a few tales of half-breeds like himself who had tried to hide among humans. 'Humans feel so betrayed to find that their neighbor is not what they thought they were. I've heard of whole families burned in their homes in some of the smaller towns. The people here, in my own village, snorting with disgust over beings like me doing such things' The strangers words about how accepting people can be were not completely lost on him, but even his confidence is not enough to shake Viltez's belief that revealing himself would be the worst thing he could possibly do. He feels a small wave of shame as he hears Aryx trying to comfort him. 'Here I am suppose to be the host, but he's spent more time caring for me than I for him. . .He is such a sweet man. . .I wish the world were populated by men like him. . .' The sudden touch surprises him and he jerks slightly but he settles an instant later and looks to Aryx with wide, frightened eyes. His tongue feels like lead as he drags a reply out of his throat. “I-I know, they are far away, the forest is dense, they couldn't have seen me, not at this distance, I just. . .” His gaze drops to the ground. “I've never felt so foolish for being afraid. It's always been just my natural state. I'm always afraid, but now I. . .” He lets out a soft sigh, his tail coming up to wrap around the wrist of the hand on his neck. It squeezes tight before letting the other go and sliding over Viltez' shoulder on the other side, the blade pressing gently to his cheek. It takes a moment for the young man to realize that his tail is back out and when he does notice he looks at it with a frown. “How come you're out already?” He says softly. Then flushes as he realizes he talking to his own body part. The blade presses more firmly to his cheek before simply resting against his chest, dangling playfully from his shoulder. 'Seems my mood is improving. . .' he muses before a very small smile finds it's way to his lips and he looks back to his guest. “Sorry, I overreact sometimes. . .” His hand comes up to touch the back of Aryx's hand with his fingertips. “Thank you. . .” he murmurs softly, his eyes earnest.
Oh look it's back Craw!
I'm still loving this RP. I have no problem with continuing. I hate consigning my characters to never fulfilling their destinies *Smile*
Clicking his tongue lightly Akito has a kind of conversation with his pet while they wait. Until of course suddenly his betrothed drops all the attention on to him. His body freezes and his eyes go a little wide against his will. Luckily he has a few extra seconds to compose himself as the emperor takes interest in their sleeping arrangement. That exchange however brings about whole new levels of tenseness in his middle but he's able to push it down and smile back at the empress when she once more compliments Hoko. “He's a rather healthy example of his kind.” he murmurs, the faint movements of his lips causing the rodent to paw at his mouth with his large paws. Akito to blows on them to make him pull them back and the Empress giggles at the exchange. With a faint cough, his heart racing and his cheeks flushing lightly he looks to the food now being placed before he as he begins responding. “The tour was thorough and informative. There are a lot of wonderful things here in the palace I would like more time to look at, but his highness was very efficient in showing me most everything on the premises.” He clicks his tongue and motions to the second place, letting Hoko know he can start eating. 'So far so good I thin' he thinks to himself, licking his lips. Looking up at the empress he notices a faintly curious look on her face but as she does not speak up right away he decides to continue. He doesn't even notice he's sitting rather stiffly, just as he would when delivering a report to the general. That is not what has her curious however, but he will find that out soon enough. He goes on to praise the gardens and the murals, the king having a few offhanded comments on how old most of the artwork in the palace is, until at last the empress asks the questions that just won't leave her mind. “Aki dear, what do you mean by 'most everything'?” The emperor looks a little surprised then thoughtful. After a moment he smiles at his wife, proud of her attention to detail. For his part, Akito looks a little uncomfortable. Well, a little more uncomfortable. 'Why is she asking? Does she think that I think that some things are being hidden from me and that I'm suspicious? Did I see something I wasn't suppose to? Why. . . .' He lets out a faint breath. “I just meant, we did not go down every hall, and we skipped the servant areas altogether.” he says softly. He can feel his body tensing even further as both the rulers look at him with great confusion. 'Why would he want to see the servant areas? He's going to be a royal. Those areas are of no consequence' the empress thinks, tilting her head to the side. Her husband's thought mirror hers. When he'd come to this palace he'd been nervous for sure, and curious, but it never even crossed his mind to wonder about the servants and how they go about their day, save for getting done what needs to be done of course. Hoko senses how tense he is and begins looking around for danger, his lips pulling back to expose his needle sharp teeth. Not really knowing what to do now, Akito remains silent, staring at his hands.
*Rolls eyes* I was checking for a pulse every month or so, but I guess you're the opposite of me and check your PMs over your subscription page :P I've been sitting around waiting for you to get done whatever you needed to IRL before you were ready to do this RP, since after all it's your job to get up first post. I do my best not to pester, and since last I'd heard sleep was the only thing that stopped you, I figured you'd get one up sooner or later. Turns out to be later I suppose :P I'm a very patient person, as my one-a-few-months partner can attest, and this one is still one of my favorite ideas I'd like to see through. So, to sum up all the babble, yes, I would like to do this RP *Smile* It's still your turn, and now I know I can pester you :P P.S. I am in love with your Snape flash. *Fanboy grin*
