Boom! Got it done, hope it's okay.
Pokémon Species: Pachirisu (Appearance Image)
Nickname: Apricoatl, though does get identified by her species as well. Some annoyed folks may simply refer to her as a 'Rodent'.
Type(s): Electric
Desired Rank: Elite
Personality: As sly as they come, Apricoatl's the type to be quite a sassy individual when she pleases. Playful and lacking in aggression, it makes it extremely difficult to tell if she takes anything in her guild work seriously. She often comes off as aloof, head assumingly empty at times despite the knowledge she has crammed up there. This is mostly a farce in attempt to mess with others in specific situations, though occasionally moments of actual absent-mindedness can leak through.
Often around others she can come off as a bit teasing, and somewhat of a flirt in a playful way. Beneath it is a genuinely caring nature, though sometimes frantic in the middle of work. She loves seeing the reaction she can spur out of others, and has a tendency to fast-talk people obstructing her job or just saying nonsense while in her way. It's not abnormal for her to dismiss someone if she's busy, though depending on her mood she can throw things down and chat if she ends up liking an individual.
Though she tends to not express how seriously she regards her job, she can occasionally put on a sterner face to those dealing with peril, as to not disregard their concerns on more serious matters, such as lost loved ones in need of saving, or they themselves being in peril. To younger Pokemon she tends to play mother hen, often having a weak spot for kids and showing more maturity, at least in some manner.
Often completely losing herself in research and a true nerd of past and present, Any chance she has to make a discovery she jumps at it, and tends to be seen taking notes on anything of interest she encounters. Occasionally this obsession can grow too strong and lead her into bad decisions, not taking regard with her own life if it means losing information she'd never get to document again. This can make her occasionally seem reckless, or perhaps stupider than she leads herself to be, and despite the heat of the moment she'd probably agree with someone about it.
Reckless in the face of knowledge doesn't mean all the time, however. Priding herself on her knowledge, she shows high competence in the field, having an assortment of talents that exceed her battling capabilities. Slick and quick-witted is the name of the game, and despite her less than serious demeanor she has no issues approaching a job and putting effort into it. Fully devote to the idea of a rescuer and researcher, she'll fight tooth and nail to make progress, even if things seem dire. This means she, of course, doesn't always come out on top. But nobody became great without a few failures under their belt, right? Even if those failures can perhaps haunt you, as she may unfortunately discover.
History: Before the Guild, Apricoatl was already a traveler. Her family was always on the move, her curiosity being sparked from her parents as they'd taught her just how much old world knowledge could be valued. Eventually when her folks got old, they settled into a town while she still ventured, though in her life she made a few pitstops along the way to pick up a few skills. Learning basic medicine from a group of medical Audino, and picking up abilities and tips from other adventurers like herself to deal with the stronger opponents that existed out in the world. She'd found a love of studying and documenting, and took great pride in how much knowledge she could retain. History and general world knowledge became a fond avenue for her, documenting countless Pokemon and learning about her world in anyway she could manage.
For Apricoatl, traveling just eventually became too dangerous. Pokemon grew more aggressive, and while she had some honed skills, she hadn't the capability to just traverse wherever she pleased without having issues anymore. As the world became more filled with strife, it forced her to find her place in society, which upon some heavy thinking just so happened to be guild work. Explorers were an old daydream of hers, and still in fair youth she hadn't hesitated to jump at the opportunity to study further out with guild funds, and rescue folks where she could along the way as the world descended into more danger by the passing day.
Although at first things were a bit rocky, she managed to overcome and secure herself a place in the guild through hard work and grit. She showed competency with others, and it was easy to appreciate someone who would patch you up after a battle mid-dungeon, so she climbed her way up from her beginner roots and has reached a respectable middle ground at Elite rank.
At this point, she runs a Swap Shop inside of the Guild to help fellow members, and to score a little extra cash. She's not among the best of the best in solo-capability, but she's fairly proud of her work nonetheless. Though she's yet to sink her teeth into a real juicy exploration, she hopes once the time arrives she proves capable enough to be brought along once an expedition for the Guild occurs.
Strengths: Apricoatl's a charmer, tending to use her cutesy appearance to her advantage whenever she can, socially or in the midst of battle. Being a living book essentially, she's highly competent in multiple regards, keeping everyone informed and trying her best to provide an offensive, though mostly supportive role to any team she takes an adventure with. She excels on gathering information, a favor trader and investigator, she's just as comfortable working outside of dungeons as she is inside of them.
Using her knowledge, she can easily identify Pokemon and typings, having extensive knowledge on type matchups as well as identify Lookalike Items to try and keep her team safe. When it fails and they take damage however, her doctoring capabilities come into play. An item handler, she can patch up her companions sustained damage or statuses mid-dungeon or aide them once they return from a successful, or even failed, mission.
While out in the field, Apricoatl relies on her wit, speed, and item usage to excel in combat. Taking advantage of a situation by using her surroundings and applying status effects are her game, often carrying items that can inflict statuses on other Pokemon, or simply using her own moves to do so. A crippled enemy is much easier to defeat, and she's far from the type to play fair in any regard, especially against criminals.
As mentioned before, she also runs the local Swap Shop, which allows for her fellow Guild members to trade out some obscure loot they don't need, and potentially get something useful back. This comes at a fee of 150 Poké for the service, of course. And not every item is promised to be what you dreamed of. She's a trader, not a miracle worker. When she's out on adventures, other Guild members can make a print tag at her station with provided paper and ink, then leave their items and nickname for her to sort through once she is home via a rather large deposit box.
Weaknesses: Small and frail, there's a reason Apricoatl isn't the frontal force of a fight: Without her agility and knowledge, she's easy to just beat down and leave in the dust. Due to this, she has issues with larger Pokemon, and their physical capabilities. Mostly due to her not having a lot of stopping power, and their own power being able to stomp her flat if they desired. Notable threats are physical-oriented Fighting or Rock types, things that can knock you out quick if you can't withstand much. Her small body can also easily be blown away by shockwaves, or large generated wind gusts.
And obviously, as an Electric Type, she is weak against Ground Type moves. Due to her own fragility, a super-effective move can usually be a large hinderance, even a minor Mudslap can cause a lot of damage depending on the strength of the user. It doesn't help that her typing is also absolutely negated by Ground Types, making her signature attacks that much harder to make use of against them.
If she is for some reason unable to apply statuses to enemies, she has a much harder time facing them. Physical attacking fire types being immune to burns cause her great strife, speedy electric types that can't be paralyzed, or steel and poison types avoiding painful toxins. She tries her best to mix and match statuses, but occasionally immunities leave her at a rather worrisome disadvantage. Especially if her item bag starts declining.
As mentioned before, her recklessness regarding knowledge can lead her into some terrible situations. When a piece of history is at stake, she'll fling herself at it unless she's physically stopped, though can pull away from this dangerous act when someone else's life is at stake. However it opens an entirely different can of worms, showing her valiant side as she'll still rush into a dangerous situation to assist someone else. It's one of the few situations that can send her head-on towards larger Pokemon, despite her obvious disadvantages.
Outside of battling, she's notably bad at physical labor, mostly due to her stature. Her nonchalant nature can also sometimes upset a client, even if she gets the job done with all conditions met. Sometimes angering them, though in her opinion it's not a loss if she accomplished the goal at the end of the day.
Greatest Fear: As she's taken a historian lifestyle over the years, one of her greatest fears is falling into irrelevancy. Given there's so much work being done at a more effective rate than her own, she fears that she'll never truly amount to anything substantial. She's yet to make a big breakthrough in any regard, making her question her own worth as a researcher, and easily becomes discouraged when it's brought up against her. Especially if it's by someone else in the same field, leaving her pride injured to a great degree. A desire for self-worth is a large part of why she put so much effort into learning, and having that prove in some situations to be worth nothing to individuals can be disheartening and painful. Doubly so if her information proves to be wrong and ends up getting someone hurt; Nobody's perfect, after all. And the last thing she wants is for someone to suffer due to her own failure to get facts straight.
