Current My roleplay is all tabletop these days, and the part of the guild I used to hang out in doesn't exist anymore. To my friends from this site, I will think of you, and maybe I'll see you again someday.

To my friends from chat: I guess I'll see you around, since I'm still not using discord.

I don't actively RP on the site these days, but I might be convinced to come back if there's a cool fantasy or sci-fi group RP that can capture my interest. Catch me on Second Life, Wildstar, or Chat.

My life has gotten really chaotic. I'll be back to RPing when I can.

I need a good generic fantasy RP, but I can't find one.

Well take a look at GURPS then. The name is an acronym for "Generic Universal Role Playing System", and I'm not joking when I say that it can literally handle anything you can think of. It's a bit complex, but it gives a balanced way of having / building absolutely any type of world or character.
Is there a particular reason you're choosing to not use an established ruleset for this? I mean, if it's flexibility you're worried about, just play GURPS, it can handle literally anything you can think of, and it has the advantage of already having been playtested and balanced and the like. Alternatively, tons of people know D&D / Pathfinder, use that ruleset and you'd have an easy time finding folks.

Just a thought.
Wait, we're doing this over skype? I'm out.
Wait, so we ARE rolling for stats? 4d6 drop lowest or what?
I'm interested! Are Centaurs allowed?
I suppose I'm unclear as to how you wouldn't have a choice to simply not play in live sessions, but instead over forum posts when people would have an easier time fitting responses into their schedule.
Well, the other option is to find a way to do it over a forum format instead of during live sessions. I imagine that many of us who use this site do so because it allows us to RP when we have available time, those of us who are able to set aside a dedicated block of time for regular tabletop RPG sessions usually have such things going on with people they know and can meet IRL.

Just saying, if you're trying to do something with a live format over here, you may struggle with getting it off the ground.
Fair warning, the Tabletop board isn't very active to start with, and if you're putting in a requirement for actually chatting over skype and having a set block of time, you're almost ensuring that you won't find enough people to play, especially since you've basically excluded anybody who has school or a job thanks to the time slot you've chosen.
1) What's the starting level? This would influence what races are available. I'm interested in playing a Centaur, but with 4 racial hit dice and a +2 level adjustment, we'd need to be starting at pretty high level for me to start with any class levels.

2) How are ability scores being generated? I'm hoping for some form of point buy, since it's vastly more fair and it also stops people from cheating on their rolls.

3) Are characters required to be good, or simply required to not be evil?

4) What can you tell us about the world? Any major factions we should know about? A quick overview of the major religions might also be helpful for those interested in playing a cleric, paladin, or other divine caster.
Is there any reason why the topic would refuse to create? Every bloody time I fill out the page for creating a new RP thread in Casual and hit Create Topic, it just seems to reset the page and not create anything. Been trying periodically since about fifteen hours ago.
