Should sheets be posted here for review before adding them to the sheet thread?

Would be preferred, but I won't bite anyone's head off.
'Want to make an ex-royalty character? Go right ahead!'

There are some limitations there. You have to earn higher levels of integration into this story via impressing me. I put a lot of effort into this, so I expect anyone who wants something a little special to reciprocate that. Or strip for me. I accept either as a form of currency.
The story was what tipped the scales and made me join

What about the story, then? To me, I didn't alter the story as much as I did the elements that made the show. Just curious about the different perspective.
This RP blew up far larger than I thought it would lol What brought all of you here, specifically?
Well, fuck, Aristo just won the "most distracting siggy" award.

Also, I have a Gundam in orbit.
They would have killed any guard who found out that the Avatar was dead, right

Depends on the situation, but you could word it like that. If he was just a Police Force grunt, sure. Depends on their history and level of trust.
I find it odd this picked up THIS much interest. Is this what happens when you join the mainstream? lol
Of course! :D
My own 2-cents. 17 and he's lieutenant, sounds too good to be true. I'd understand if he was prince, but he's only Irohs adoptive kid. And being adopted in strict monarchies, he wouldn't usually be treated on equal standards as those of the bloodline.

Edit, you already addressed the lineage issue, but to be a lieutenant at 17 is still out there. In my own opinion though. Whatever Prince deems fine is his business

I'm already working with him on points. Before I even addressed being a lieutenant. Llieutenant is actually the lowest ranking officer. There are only two noted lieutenants, one later being made Captain. Wiki defines them as "having more power than regular soldiers, but not by much" - excluding Zhao, the one made captain and trained under Jeong Jeong. I'm actually not terribly opposed to him being a Lieutenant in the Police Force, as the Police Force is a lot less strict than the actual Fire Nation Army. I went to great lengths to explain the difference between the Phoenix Kingdom Police Force and the Fire Nation Army.

Granted, Zuko was trained with his sword under Piandao, albeit I'm not for sure where this took place as its never explicitly stated. If we just wrote it off as Piandao trained a small class of elites, such as Krane, Zuko, Kazuki and leave that open to later interpretation. Zuko himself was only so good due to his training under Piandao, whom is fucking badass. Lu Ten could also be part of this class, Azula could think it's silly for "potential bending masters to be wielding pointless weapons", etc. This could bind a few important characters together. I would admit that being a lieutenant so quickly seems odd given the only two ever shown are older, while most of the younger soldiers are just police force, privates or guards.
There is room for anything.
Hold on, in this AU Lu Ten didn't die? But then Iroh would have been made the Fire Lord, not Ozai. The only reason Ozai overtook his older brother was through manipulation following his son's death.

Fantastic point! I'm glad someone finally caught on and called that out. I won't reveal much, but I will tell you that Iroh stands to be one of my favorite characters, so I put an immense amount of effort into his rewrite. You see, without the death of Lu Ten, I had to fabricate a whole new plotline and series of events to make Ozai the Phoenix King and Iroh the Fire Lord regent instead of the Fire Lord himself.

I won't reveal too much, but rest assured that Iroh will play a very similar role in this AU as he did in the canon and he hasn't changed too much at the core. That said, fantastic observation. I came along that flaw during the original conception and I could not bare to make Iroh another power-hungry Fire Lord/Former General.

It would be fair to note that Ozai and Ursa essentially assassinated Azulon and used the cover of Iroh's failure to conquer Ba Sing Se after 600 days (due to the death of Lu Ten), so it wasn't just outright manipulation. Shit was straight deceitful. Ozai is a dick.
