The Prince just jammin' out in his corner patiently until his characters are of use...
Yan is acceptable, although notably he is not technically a master. He, admittedly, is the closest or tied-for-the-closest within the list of RPC's now. I would note that I would like to you much change that fucking unicorn Avatar. I have no idea, but I'm filled with a few drops of rage ever time I see them.

Or this.. At times, more like this. Sometimes, I like to listen to sad rock ballads, like so.

Sometimes, I go a back in time, to a different era. At times, even further back.
Your best bet to attain Air Mastery tattoos and be a viable part of this roleplay is to be a former master that strayed from the path of enlightenment, and here's why:

There is a select group of people whom attain the tattoos, and they are very few in number as well as very powerful in terms of raw skill. They are masters. They preserved an art that only a few thousand still know. They give up their life, a lot of the times sacrificing romances and personal tethers, to achieve that level of mastery. Now, I'm not saying that an Air Master couldn't have a significant other or anything, but I'm saying they would likely be less inclined to. They would be less inclined to care about of a lot of Earthly things.

So, if the entire point of this roleplay is focusing on bringing DOWN the Phoenix Kingdom that right now is doing a lot of good things for the Air Nomads, the Air Bending Masters aren't going to feel real obligated to help out the cause. Your best bet would be to be something like a disgruntled 38 year old Airbending Master that has become fed up with the bastardization of the Airbenders in the Fire Nation and the Phoenix Kingdom that is diluting culture and spiritual value. That, you can do.

What you cannot do is fit the Air Master archetype into a rebel because it doesn't make a lot of sense.
Aang, the only exception ever, made a new technique and had already mastered 35 tiers. They let him skip one. Making a brand new technique, although notable, The statement, officially, is "and/or" because it was never clarified if the creation of a technique is a sure-fire skip to Airbending Master. In any case, it's not going to alter the situation too much here.

Almost every character I see tries to take on the title of master, and not one has actually deserved it. The title is meant to inspire reverence for a reason. I'm not going to hand it out to any of any bending class easily.
Jun is approved. :)
Yan Tao isn't a bad concept, but I want him fleshed out a bit more. I feel like parts of his history, personality and traits are just webbing to put a few parts together you want in a character. I don't get a strong sense of identity from him, and I really do want one from each character. Also, 24 is still somewhat young for him to be a complete Airbending Master as well as have researched so many topics, especially spiritual knowledge. In this field, I would like you to tone back the Spiritualistic part, but you're free to highlight his academic talents. There are also Dai Li agents in this roleplay, specifically another PC, that aren't master-level, just close, but are still older with intense training. Mastering all thirty-six tiers is a sacred accomplishment, and I want to keep it such.

Jun is actually very similar to my Krane, albeit I see that you focus on his swordsmanship over bending. I can understand this, but what I dislike is the application of firebending onto metal. If lavabending, making molten rock, is a form of earthbending, it stands to reason that metalbending would unlock bending steel, including its heat. Bending itself is the manipulation of chi in unique ways that abide by a set of restrictions that are bending. I don't see firebending making a sword super-heated to the degree it could slice through more. Much like Krane using a sword-style, it uses the blade as an extension of the body and chi. Whether its firebending or airbending, it would result in the same effects. Now, there are ways I could imagine creating a similar effect, but I'm not allowing the direct superheating of metal. Aside from that, Jun is perfect. I read him and seen him as the older brother Krane could have had.

Sidenote: Change those damn unicorn Avatars.
Bump. :D
You can have one. lol You just don't 'need' one. >.>
