Current I want to DM a 5e game. However, I've never done it online and have no clue what to do without paper, pencil, and DICE. I just don't trust digital rollers.

Your mother frets endlessly about this or that on your person, nagging in a tone you aren't quite tuned in to. You can hear her complain about how she "can't believe you would go out like this" and how "you should look like you're representing our family, not raising pigs!" and you scoff slightly. Personally, you find your particular choice of clothing to be quite eye-catching. However, your mother will not find it sufficient until she has straightened and meticulously arranged them herself. You'll allow it. Afterall, you won't see her very much during the entirety of the next 6 months, and possibly even later, should you find what you're being sent to find.

Perhaps this is your first year or your fifth year in the courts, but every wealthy family is expected to send their children to the capital of the kingdom to attend socialize and to find your lifetime mate. It is mostly a "we aren't rich enough, go make us richer" event, though the young bachelors and bachelorettes try to make the most of the time.

Your mother finally ceases her nitpicking and you can be on your way, the carriage waiting outside to cart you off towards the capital. A kiss is placed on each side of your face by each female family member as they see you off. The men all shake hands, and you board the carriage, waving out the window. There is still the slightest bit of frost on the ground this morning, as Spring is just now waking from it's long winter's slumber. Soon, the family manor is far behind you, and as the fields and forests pass, you have to wonder...

How will you spend this season?

So this is a reboot of a thing I did years and years ago. Before the Great Crash. It's based off of a choose your own adventure game, and so I've tweaked it, taken the magic out (mostly because it was irrelevant in the first installation and that's where this is rooted), and made it something for groups! This will be highly player driven rather than GM driven, though I'm not above making things happen. I'm hoping for this to be mid-high casual. A couple paragraphs but with not much of a cap on length. There will be quite a few slots open in this as well, so there are lots of nobility and non-nobility roles available and not too much of each. Anyone interested?
I'll take this because it looks like it's died
Softly places my interest here
Kichiro Hideyoshi

His nervousness was slowly dispelled as everyone began to speak, though he had quickly realized he was the least likely here to be a good host. Even that Jack fellow, though his rudeness would probably put off some of the customers. However, as everyone went around and described themselves, he realized that he was not the only one who was a little different. He was quickly drawn to the leader's competence and other things about the other members, and felt that he was in decent hands. Maybe Mikio was right, this would be good for him. He knew it would be, ultimately, but really, he felt it now.

As the circle finally came around to his turn, after Al, he cleared his throat and smiled. "M-my name is Kichiro Hideyoshi, and as everyone here could guess, I'm a nerdy type," he explained, the pushed his glasses up on his nose, as one would expect. He chewed on his cheek for a moment while he considered his favorite things. "I like comics, especially horror manga. My favorite animal is the koala, and I love chocolate chip cookies," he smiled, blushing slightly at the thought of his koala pencil case.

Rubbing the back of his head, he grinned awkwardly. "I'm really glad to meet you all," he laughed softly, then settled down into his seat calmly, ready to go right back into listening.
I'm game whether it's moms, or dads or whatever. Give me all the cute single parent dating shit.
I'm still hyped! And if you guys need a map, I would be more than happy to draw that up for you. I've done a warriors map before.
Kichiro Hideyoshi

Fear gripped Kichiro as his last class was released. He didn't know what to expect. He'd seen plenty of hosts in past years, and he never thought he would be one. But here he was, walking slowly from class, to his locker. He examined the inside of his locker, a picture of his mom and sisters pinned with a magnet hung at eye level. His books were neatly stacked according to class order, then separated into those who had homework and those who did not. He stuffed the appropriate books into his bag, then took a deep breath, leaning softly into his locker.

A slam on the locker beside him startled him out of his reluctant slumping.

"Kichi! What are you doing out here, huh?" A burly voice boomed as a pair of green eyes peeked over the door of Kichiro's locker. Mikio, one of Kichiro's first friends at the academy, was not someone who could easily be missed. Kichiro smiled up at his towering friend, rubbing the inside of his left forearm.

"I'm just uh... trying to prepare myself. I just... I dunno if can do this, Mikio," Kichiro admitted. A scoff escaped the larger boy, the Kichiro was pulled out of his locker by his blazer, and the locker was closed. A sausage of a finger was then poked firmly into Kichiro's sternum, causing a grimace to mix with his awkward smile.

"What kind of talk is that?! You're gonna go down this hallway, holding your head up, and enter that room and be the best damned host that you can be!" Mikio demanded, trying to pep up his friend, but really just scared the poor boy. Nevertheless, Kichiro nodded and cleared his throat. "Now, go! Charm some girls with your little nerdy self!"

"Gee, thanks. I'll uh... see you later then, Mikio," Kichiro mumbled, then turned around, starting down the hallway to Music Room 3. He entered the room, gripping his bag with white knuckles. Without really making eye contact with any of the other people in the room, he hurried himself to a seat. He didn't recognize anyone here right off the bat, but he wasn't the most social of creatures either.
Morning bump!

동계 올림픽 - 평창군, 대한민국 - 2018년
Winter Olympics - Pyeongchang, South Korea - 2018

"We're here in South Korea, preparing for the opening ceremony of the 23rd Olympic Winter Games!"
"That's right, Rick! We are just 12 hours away from the lighting of the torch, and I've got to say, I'm very excited for the upcoming events. We have got some really great athletes returning, but we have new faces that are going to prove to be very tough competitors to beat. And I've heard that the judges for this year's games are some of the hardest judges to please that we've ever had."
"Tammy, I would not be surprised if no one pulls over a 9 this year from any of the judges. But, we can't see the future, and these athletes have been working hard to perfect their routines. We're really looking forward to all of what's to come."

The broadcast was flickering softly on the wall of your hotel room. You pay half-attention to the scripted noise about excitement and hard judges that only varies slightly from the last Olympics script. You're polishing your skates, double checking the stitches, the sequins, and anything else that may have moved during travel. You've turned on the 24 hour coverage of the games while twenty billion thoughts cross your mind all at once. You can feel your heart beating out of your chest your ears are full of pressure.

Welcome to the Winter Olympics.

Okay, so to put it simply, this is Yuri on Ice without Yuri. But it was inspired by it, so I had to give it credit. I'd like to focus on drama and everything that comes with great big competitions. You could play as a coach, a skater, a judge, or a different type of athlete (like skiing or hockey or something). If you are a coach, you need a skater, but not all skaters need a coach. Questions? Interests? Overall excitements?
Interested and watching!!
