This is my first character application, and it's a character I've been RPing for a few years. However, it's a Warcraft character, and I'm not sure how well that would fit in here. I'm expecting this to need changes, as a result, which may simply be adding to how she ended up in this universe, or overhauling her into something that resembles a draenei in appearance, but is
totally not a draenei, cough cough. Let me know what you think, and I'll see what needs changed.
----------
Name: Miri
Height: 6'9"
Weight: 275 lbs, roughly
Age: 363 (young adult)
Race/Species: Draenei
Tier/Influence: 3 (
regional; a very skilled healer, but not capable of bringing back the dead or healing the critically injured without outside assistance.
Group(s): Unaffiliated
Appearance: The draenei are a strange race with blue skin, digitigrade legs ending in hooves, and long, curved horns sprouting from their heads. A tail swings behind their bodies, ending just above their ankles, and three tendrils decorste either side of their jawline. They're a pious people adept at magic, and tend to keep themselves fit.
...Except for this one. She's packed on quite a bit of weight, leading to a rounded stomach and wider stance, though most of the weight seems settled in her chest and, to a lesser extent, her rear and thighs. Each breast is larger than her own head by a large margin, and her legs are as thick as the average human's waist.
Body aside, she's got a soft, kind face and short, black hair atop her head. Like the rest of her kind, her eyes seem to be a solid, glowing white, making it occasionally difficult to te exactly where she's looking.
Her usual attire is a flowing robe that keeps her entire chest covered, while leaving her chubby midriff bare. The robe's lower half continues down to her ankles, as one would expect. The fabric is light, and made out of some silvery fabric with teal accents that sit well against her blue skin.
Picture reference.Personality: Miri is typically very kind and inviting, but don't abuse her kindness, as she knows when to withold her generosity. She adheres to the Three Virtues--Respect, Tenacity, and Compassion--which, according to her pseudo-religious philosophy, is what allows her to conjure forth the Holy Light to heal and smite.
She's also known to be incredibly prideful and vain, though she tries to reign this in whenever she goes overboard. Many creatures, such as demons and warmongers, are also quick to anger her. She's much colder and less forgiving to these types.
Abilities, Talents, Traits, Powers:>list][*]
( 3 ) Healing Magic -- Being a priestess, healing is her forté. She can knit flesh and bone together on anything up to and including a solid sword swing, but a deeper axe would be much more difficult. Alternatively, she can conjure a holy shield for an ally to deflect one attack, though stronger blows will outright shatter the shield, bypassing it. Common diseases and infections can be cured, as well, though rarer or more resilient diseases are difficult, or impossible, for her to cure. Poisons are by far something she struggles with, even simple food poisoning. Healing spells typically cost a low amount of mana, but more exertion will cost more mana.
- ( 3 ) Gift of the Naaru -- Slowly heals the caster over time. Lasts fifteen seconds, healing as much as Heal Wounds, but with no casting time. This is an innate ability all draenei possess.
- ( 2 ) Offensive Magic -- Miri can harness holy magic to attack the wicked, but her spells will not manifest if she knows what she's doing is wrong. She can launch a bolt of holy magic to damage foes, or charge a weapon with holy magic to make it deal holy damage. Holy magic, predictably, deals kore damage to demonic and undead entities. Offensive spells tend to be very mana-heavy, and will wear her out fast.
- ( 2 ) Support Magic -- Miri can utter a short prayer to increase the fortitude of her allies, allowing them to run and fight for longer before tiring out. In addition, she can make herself levitate to cross water or slow a fall, though this requires constant concentration.
- ( 1 ) Battle Knowledge -- Years of hiding from demons on Draenor, as well as a brief stint of training as a paladin has given her solid knowledge of how to fight, though her form may make actually utilizing it rather difficult.
Items: - ( 2 ) Mithril Spear -- A five-foot long spear from Miri's days as a paladin, made of mithril, stained a gold-bronze color. It has no magical properties, though mithril is known for being fantastic at sundering armor and weapons, while resisting being broken, itself. It has a simple, etched pattern in the head and hilt that may appear Nordic to those unfamiliar with Azeroth, and dwarven to those familiar with it.
History: (There's a lot to her backstory, and a lot of it requires knowledge of the draenei race as a whole, so I'll be trying my best to make it short, without going too in-depth about things that don't need explaining.)
Miri was born on the dimensional ship known as the Genedar, as the draenei
fled from their home world following the
invasion of the demonic Burning Legion. She was taught the ways of the Holy Light from her mother, before the Genedar finally landed on their
new home, which would be known as Draenor. Miri's father had always instructed Miri to
take good care of her body, and though he meant well and she kept a trim figure, Miri begun to feel
incredibly insecure about her body. She met a young warrior named
Ruuvin, and, as their friendship blossomed into
love, he slowly begun to help her feel more
confident about her appearance.
As Miri's father grew older, she took it upon herself to run her father's fruit stand, instilling a sense of
frugality and responsibility in her, which she would use much later in her life. Barely a few decades after, however, the native orcs, under demonic influence,
attacked the draenei, killing a large portion of the population. Ruuvin protected his beloved, but
Miri's parents were lost in the genocide.
For the next few years, Miri devoted herself to
becoming a priestess and helping people, feeling she
could have done more to save her parents. Her and Ruuvin hid away with another group of draenei, until finally
retaking the Tempest Keep, another dimensional ship, from the demonic forces and escaping. Unfortunarely, the ship was
sabotaged by the demon's elven servants, and the medical pod known as the Exodar broke off and fell to a small island on Azeroth, with Ruuvin
dying in the resulting crash.
Unable to help her lover despite her newfound healing abilities, Miri fell into a [bgreat depression[/b], and dropped all sense of self-control instilled in her for the past two hundred years. She fled the Exodar to the human capital of Stormwind to
escape the place of her lover's death and turned to
food for comfort. Years passed, and Miri slowly crawled out of her shell. She had piled on a
large amount of weight, making her already curvy figure even
curvier. While the sting of Ruuvin's death wasn't as prominent, she
turned to hedonism and exhibitionism to
distract herself from the loss. The formerly insecure priestess begun flaunting her figure, something most draenei would look down upon. She begun distancing herself more and more from her people, and
found comfort in the humans' less abstract view of the Light, in the form of the
Three Virtues: Respect, Tenacity, and Compassion.
For a time, Miri worked as a
healer-for-hire in the goblin lands, but as her
mask of hedonism slowly became less about feigned confidence and more
true confidence, she suddenly felt disgusted by the goblins' typical lecherous behaviors, and left for Stormwind again. She briefly dabbled in
working as a paladin, but felt she would
rather heal than fight, and quickly reverted to priesthood.
Soon after, she found her calling by
founding a mission in the far-off land of Pandaria to
teach her own brand of the Holy Light, thanks to her unique mix of draeneic and human views.
