Imagine liking your enemies more than your allies. Lana can relate.
@jakeb1993 Would it be okay if I wanted to change Lana's powers? I'm still only considering it, but thought I would ask if it's okay before I give it too much thought.

I was looking into magic for another character, but realized I probably wouldn't be able to meet the commitment of playing both of them, but I saw some interesting powers I would like to try. I'm still on the fence though, because I like Lana the way she is, and I'm not sure if I can be bothered making all the changes I would have to make. xD
@Cerces22 Can you just imagine the two of them being partnered up for a mission or something? The chaos that would unfold...
@Cerces22 I can just imagine how much fun their interactions would be. Fun for Circe at least.
@Cerces22 I noticed you added Lana to Circe's relationships section, so I went ahead and added in Circe to Lana's. Hope you don't mind.
@jakeb1993 Even though Aloysius is a villain, I actually feel bad for him. He's going to have to put up with someone who has mood swings worse than a teething infant.
Yay first post done. I hope it is as good as it is long.
Lana Arlene Ryder

Lana is anything but a morning person, so when her alarm started blaring at five in the morning, it was no surprise that she got annoyed and practically threw the blasted thing against the wall. It was a good thing those things were cheap, because that was the third one she had broken in the span of a week. It was beyond her as to why the store she worked at opened at six in the morning, but she couldn't complain. They were the only store out of the three that she had applied to that would accept her, and she had to pay the bills and her rent somehow. A supermarket clerk's wage was nothing to admire, and couldn't afford anything more than a shabby little apartment, where all the rooms were crammed into one, save the bathroom and a wardrobe. That wasn't so bad for someone living on their own though, like she was. It also managed to keep the food on the table, the lights on, the water clean and hot, and a roof over her head, so it was more than enough as far as she was concerned.

Once the room had fallen quiet again, the green haired female was given the opportunity to lay in bed for a moment and gather her thoughts. Her head was pounding and her mind was fuzzy, no doubt from how much she had drunk the night before. She didn't recall much, if anything, of what happened, but she knew it had to have been fun. Still, a hangover wasn't very pleasant to have to deal with, especially when she had work in less than an hour. That was her own fault though, and just like every other time it happened, she would have to push through it. Lana would allow herself another few minutes to lay in bed, before she finally decided to get up.

One of the convenient things of living in such a cozy apartment was the fact that her bathroom was only a few steps away from her bed. After a nice how shower, and a cup of coffee, as well as a fresh new change of clothes, Lana was ready to go. Before she headed out the door, she went through the list she had in her head of items she needed that day. Phone? Check. Keys? Check. Wallet? Check. Earphones? Check. With everything accounted for, all she needed to do was slip on her shoes and she was on her way. Obviously, making sure to lock her door as she left.

Having no money to afford a vehicle of her own, Lana was forced to take the subway to work, which is where her phone and earphones came in handy. The music blasting through her ears offered her some solace from the strangers around her, as well of warding off anyone looking to make small talk. It was either that or the semi-permanent scowl she wore on her face. Either way, she avoided it, and that made her happy.

Thankfully the store she worked at wasn't far from her apartment, only about twenty minutes between them, so she wouldn't have to stay on the over crowded subway for long. As soon as she got to her stop, she slipped her way through the crowds of people coming and going in all directions, and walked at a brisk pace towards her destination.

She arrived at 6:00 am on the dot, which was usual for her, because she was always punctual. Unfortunately her manager, and the one with the keys to the store, was always late. She could of course unlock the door herself, but that would only serve to raise suspicion, so she was forced to wait out in the cold instead. It was rather frustrating to have to work with someone so incompetent. But aside from quitting, there wasn't much she could do, and since she needed the job, she had no choice to put up with it. At least the cool morning air was refreshing, which helped to ease her headache a little.

By the time her manager had arrived, a whole quarter of an hour had passed. A couple more employees had shown up in that time, and were quietly talking amongst themselves in a small group off to the side. Though they had tried several times to converse with her, she had shown them she wasn'tinterested, so they no longer bothered aside from an occasional greeting. Lana wasn't one for pleasentries, but considering she had to work a whole eight hour shift with these people, she figured it would do her some good to keep things at least civil between them, so she would make sure to return their greetings with one of her own.

Once she was inside, she was able to relax a little. It was warmer indoors, fortunately, though the air wasn't nearly as refreshing. After taking a moment to adjust, Lana would head straight for the staff room so she could change into her uniform, before getting into her work stocking the shelves. She didn't have the patience to work the register, or the door, so she avoided those tasks as much as possible.

-Small time skip to a few hours later-

A few hours passed, and Lana was in the middle of a break when she got a notification from her phone. She didn't talk to very many people, so she already had an idea of who it would be from, but that didn't help to stop the sigh or the frown that came from seeing his name next to the message which read: "The plan is in motion. Meet at Base Tomorrow Night for full meeting. Don't be late or miss it if you value your life."

"Charming." Lana scoffed after she was done reading what Aloysius had sent to the Dark Shadow group chat. She would then lock her phone and slip it back into the pocket of her jeans from which she had received it. By that time her break was over, and she would -reluctantly- return to work.

"I wouldn't change who I am or what I can do for anything."

Name: Lana Arlene Ryder
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Alignment: Dark Shadow
Rank within Organisation: Former Captain, promoted to Second in Command.

Birthmark Shape:

Location of Birthmark: Her birthmark sits at the back of her neck just below her hairline, and is approximately 57mm long, and 44.5mm in diameter through the widest part.
Magical Abilities: Telekinesis - The ability to move/manipulate/control objects and matter, and create physical constructs of telekinetic energy, to an advanced degree.

Place of Birth: Forks, Washington
Currently Residing: New York City
Personality: Lana has always been a lose cannon when it comes to her emotions, even as a child, but it became notably worse after the loss of her twin bother. She is prone to unpredictable mood swings, the worst of which being her anger. While her mood swings are usually unprovoked, she is known to be exceptionally sensitive to any mention of her "condition" or her brother, either of which will often have her temper flaring. Otherwise, Lana is a reasonably laid back person, with a somewhat cynical outlook on life and a sarcastic sense of humor.
History/Bio: Lana was born in Forks, Washington as the youngest of a set of twins, to two loving parents. Her family didn't live in the lap of luxury, but her and her brother had everything they could possibly need. Unlike her, her brother Liam wasn't born with a birthmark, and as such he possessed no magical powers. It wasn't until she turned twelve that her powers would manifest themselves, though.

Her parents had always worried about her ability to handle being around other people, especially in a school environment, due to her unstable emotional condition, but she seemed to cope quite well as long as her brother was around. So when she turned eight they finally allowed her to attend public school. For the first few years, everything had been going well. Lana had been known to get into a few fights, and cause a bit of trouble, but it wasn't anything serious. Then, along came Bryan Mathers. Day after day Bryan would harass and torment Lana for the unsightly birthmark she had on her neck. Her brother did his best to stand up for her, but he was no match for the other boy.

Having to watch her brother get beaten just for trying to defend her, as well as trying to keep a lid on her explosive temper, would soon prove to be too much for the young girl. One day, not long after her twelfth birthday, Lana was sitting down to lunch with her brother and only friend. The two of them had opted for sitting out in the field, under a tree near the back of the school, to eat their lunch and avoid the other kids. It had worked for awhile, until Bryan -who seemed to be obsessed with the two of them- tracked them down one day. As usual he began to torment Lana, until her brother got up to defend her. He was no match for him though, and soon Bryan had her brother on the ground and was wailing into him. It didn't take long before the poor girl finally lost it and sent him flying across the field and into another tree that was nearby. She hadn't meant for it to happen, she just wanted him to stop hurting her brother.

Bryan hit the tree with a loud thud. The impact was enough to kill him instantly with blunt force trauma to the back of the head, as well as a broken spine. Although everyone assumed the boy had died from falling out of the tree, Lana, her brother, and her parents knew the real story. Her parents decided it would be best if they moved out of state, and decided to settle down in New York. After that incident, both Lana and Liam were forbidden from being out in public alone, and were both home schooled, so as to avoid another incident like that happening again. Their parents also managed to track down an experienced magic user to help Lana develop control over her powers.

When she turned eighteen, it was suggested from her tutor that she be allowed to socialize again. The woman claimed that learning to control her powers would only solve half of the problem. It took a lot of convincing, but her parents eventually gave in. She wouldn't be attending school, or working, but she would be allowed to go out every now and then, but only when she was accompanied by her brother. As fate would have it, this only opened them up for more tragedy. One night when the twins were out at their local convenience store, a group of young thugs were looking for some fun and decided to make some money. They took the store by gunpoint and robbed it for all the money it had. The guns were only meant to be for show, to make sure no one tried anything stupid, but when one man tried to be a hero, chaos soon ensued, and Liam -as well as the man who tried to play hero- ended up getting shot and killed.

By the time the cops had arrived, the only two left at the scene were a dead Liam, and a distraught Lana, holding her brother in her arms. The case was investigated for a few months, but no leads were found and it was soon dropped. Lana wouldn't accept that though, and started an investigation of her own. It took the remaining half of that year before she found the men responsible for her brother's death, but when she did, she made sure they suffered a long and painful death. Much like the investigation on the robbery, no lead into the five mysterious murders were found. Thanks to her powers, Lana was able to deal with those men without leaving a single trace behind. Just in case, she still went into hiding, though. Eventually she would stumble across the organization known as "Dark Shadow". After three years of being in their service, Lana would eventually work her way up to be a Captain, and then later be promoted to Second in Command.
