Long time no RP, Pyro. I'll be working on a pair of CSes. (If two characters is okay)

Normally I'm against it, but I know you can handle it, so I'll allow it for you.
OOC will be up in roughly one hour.

Dark days are ahead of us. The fires of Hell lick at our heels, and grow closer with each passing day. The Dark Goddess of Fire, Taloran, has grown ambitious in her attempts to bring the mortal world under her control. Fire Cults and demonic entities have sprung up in the forests of Aeribis and Ezdenah, and even the frozen wastes of Arlejj, wildfires burn through the snowy forests, one of the infamous Ember Witches at its heart. And as she sows sorrow and rage through the lands, the Servants of Chaos become more aggressive. Once a nuisance, they have begun to rise in threat, attacking nobles and even normal civilians in the streets. People, who no one would ever think to be one of their kind have shown their true colors, even if they are cut down quickly. Fear and discontent rise in every nation, and yet none will put aside their differences to work against this threat.

High Lord Shah of Arlejj, the most level-headed of them all, has ignored us. Unrest grows in the north, and our agents fear that a civil war between the tribes and the raiders will erupt, and Shah will be unable to control it. The people of Ezdenah hide in their trees and pray to their lost god, and do nothing to contain the demons that roam in their forests. Veretta believes containing its own mages is more important than aiding the mainland, and has all but closed its borders. Even Ramses of Conjuska, who has always supported us, has become like stone to our warnings. The only one who has decided to aid us is Queen Eline of Aeribis, who already rests upon a precarious throne. But, even with the threat of rebellion against her crown, she has lent us troops, and even given us use of her personal guard, to combat the demonic threat within her nation. And once we are done here, we will take the fight elsewhere. Even if they do not want us.

Welcome, to the Fires of Chaos!

Magic

Magic in Tenint is a fickle art, and has only been completely refined by the ferral sages of Ezdenah, who are loath to give out their secrets to any outside of their apprentices, even to their close elven allies. Magic drains energy from the mage, who, in compensation, often has plenty of additional energy, more so than the average man. Many mages work around this by drawing energy from their surroundings, however this is done at the cost of possibly killing the living things around them, and so is not promoted, especially among the forest-loving ferral or the Inquisitorial-controlled mages of Veretta. Even riskier is the capture and binding of souls, often enemies or demons, into items for the mage to draw energy off of. The latter is the most dangerous, as it is the most likely to backfire on the mage and kill them, as demons are creatures that do not take well to being controlled.

Gods of Tenint
Zehrn, the Dragon God of Creation, patron god of Ezdenah.
Tiej, the God of Light, patron god of the Paladin Order.
Sanguine, the God of Darkness, patron god of all things evil.
Taloran, the Goddess of Fire, patron goddess of anger and hate.
Jun, the God of the Sky, patron god of flight.
Tyr, the God of the Earth, patron god of strength.
Rhea, the Goddess of the Seas, patron goddess of sailors.
Nasi, the God of the Desert, patron god of Conjuska.
Sol, the God of the Sun, patron god of life and love.
Lun, the Goddess of the Moon, patron goddess of justice and vengeance.
Nyx, the Goddess of the Night, patron goddess of thieves.
Carim, the God of War, patron god of soldiers.
Harron, the God of Disease, patron god of doctors.
Vena, the God of Famine, patron god of the poor.
Seren, the Goddess of Death, who favors none.
The Spirits of Veretta, patrons of the fenrir.

I'm interested in any game boasting character death, though I echo Dawnstar's sentiments in wondering what role the factions will play. Are the differences between them mostly cultural? Or do they represent different abilities, equipment and/or training, etc?

I'll go ahead and address this real quick. Most of the differences are culturally. Ideologies will differ in each of the factions. However, the Inquisition is mostly trained in stealth operations, aka espionage and assassinations, while the Dark Sun Cult are more heavily equipped, though are trained in a more versatile array of weaponry; The Lunar Watch is the most versatile in both equipment and training, but all would be more experienced in hunting and fighting witches.

The Lunar Watch believe in vengeance and justice above all. Consider them Chaotic Good. Even if the law restricts it, they'll go through whatever means they have to to make sure true justice prevails. The only exception to this rule is using any sort of demonic ritual, which forces you to lose any favor with Lun and causes banishment from the Lunar Watch. Generally, they would lack charisma, but would be exceptionally good at what they do.

The Dark Suns worship Sol, God of the Sun, Life, and Love. After witnessing the first Solar Eclipse, a sect of the Solaris broke off and formed the Dark Suns, a group of anarchists who strive to break up the barriers of government and bring the whole world under one banner. While they normally don't see eye-to-eye with the Lunar Watch, the Dark Suns have come to their aid where the Solaris have not, as they know that the threat of demons is more important than their own agendas. Most are very charismatic, since they must preach their ways to the people of the world, and bring in more followers to the Dark Sol.

The Aeribissian Inquisition is, by far, the most secretive of the factions. They are fanatically loyal to both Aeribis and Queen Eline I, and would do anything to keep both her and Aeribis safe. They are trained as spies and assassins to act on the Queen's call, and act as the secret police of Aeribis. When someone disappears from the streets, or a noble turns up dead, you will hear whispers of "Eline's Hounds" in the streets. Elite units capable of devastating damage and amazing acrobatic feats.

The Lunar Watch and Dark Suns will have special abilities pertaining to their gods, and the Inquisition will have a large amount of skills and weapons at their disposal. The military will simply be well trained and well equipped soldiers, and freelancers won't have many restrictions on them, however I will be more skeptical on them for as to why they were put on the team and as to what they can do.

I will add more on magic later.

With Rex's intro, I will begin working on the OOC for release tomorrow, hopefully.

Welcome, to the Fires of Chaos! If it was not clear from the opening, this is an adventure/action fantasy roleplay based around the world of Tenint, my own little creation.

Since the plot is likely not particularly clear, allow me to elaborate. You will playing as a member of an elite squad of witch-hunters, who will scour the forests and plains of Aeribis, and later other nations, for the elusive Fire Cults and Servants of Chaos, among other things. The Dark Gods wish to take the land of Tenint for themselves, and will stop at nothing to take it. Your job is to make sure this doesn't happen, through whatever means necessary. Death is a real possibility, and may come at any time, to anyone. Play cautiously.

I may as well shed a bit of light on the factions, since I have your attention, and it will likely be asked. You will play as one of the following: A member of the Lunar Watch, servants of Lun, the Goddess of the Moon, Justice, and Vengeance; a member of the Dark Sun cult, worshipers of a more vengeful version of Sol, the God of Life and Love; a member of the Aeribissian military, or even part of the secretive Aeribissian Inquisition; or a freelance mercenary, hired by Queen Eline.

As for races, I may as well say it now. There are five: Humans, who make up the bulk of the populations of Aeribis and Conjuska; Elves, long lived (300 years) beings similar in appearance to humans, albeit smaller, natives to Arlejj and Ezdenah, and make up most of the slave population of Conjuska; Ferral, long lived (200 years) cat-like people native to Ezdenah and Arlejj, who despise humans; Fenrir, massive, long lived (200 years) wolf-people from Veretta and Arlejj; and Imps, diminutive, short lived (50 years) creatures native to Veretta.

Any other details on races or factions will be provided in the OOC. Any further questions not about those two can be addressed here. I am looking for 5-10 people to work with on this. Also, if anyone has a map to suggest for Tenint, please feel free to suggest one.
I actually made a character who is a big, strong man, probably stronger and bigger than Golem, who loves whores.

I am here, but since I posted not so long ago (and I remember something about you saying you were gonna post up a thing) I entered lurker mode.
Isala will remain quiet unless addressed by Arl or Arvaraad.
