Basil vs Asche Fight

Asche Stauss vs Basil Trista Plagas

A large, scarred student traded a brief glance with his team leader before stepping out of the stands towards the arena floor, emerging through the lower door a few moments later wearing a gas mask.

As Basil strolled into the arena he looked around. He was standing in the centre of a large circle, the seats were stationed well above the combatants fighting area. Looking straight on the faunus saw a scarred and pale boy standing in front of him. Without taking his gaze off his opponent he unsheathed his sword and pulled out a small cube, flicking a small switch on it, the cube sprung out into a sickle.

“Students, are you ready?” Glynda asked, watching from the arena’s edge, “Begin!”

Immediately after the Huntress announced the fight to start, Basil quickly stepped back and started to circle Asche, taking on a defensive stance with his weapons. As he moved a pale green mist began to follow, gradually expanding along the arena.

Asche took note of his foes actions and immediately charged towards him. “Dragonsbreath, ignite” he muttered, causing the cylinder on his mask to rotate. Seconds later a concentrated stream of smoke emerged from the center of the mask, carrying a faint brown hue.

The crow faunus gave a surprised squawk as the smoke appeared. Trying to make distance between him and his masked opponent, Basil flicked a switch on his sickle. It quickly took on the form of a pistol and the faunus began to fire while moving backwards, still radiating the pale fog.

The bald student dropped to the ground, his momentum carrying him into a slide towards his foe beneath the bullets, before rising into a crouch as his movement slowed. “Dragonsbreath; petrify,” he stated coarsely. As the brown hued smoke stopped Asche took a deep breath; then the mask hissed, letting loose a torrent of bitter wind which pushed back at Basil’s contagious mist.

Basil growled under his breath at his foe’s successful attempt at repelling his mist. As he slid towards Basil the faunus swung his sword towards him and continuing to fire his pistol,

Asche stood, blocking the sword with one armored forearm, letting up the on the outpouring of smoke as several bullets hit his lightly armored chest, “Dragonsbreath; freeze,” and the smoke returned, accompanied by burning heat and embers in a long reaching jet.

Basil rolled out of the smoke, rubbing his singed left arm. Quickly reaching into his pockets pulling out a small, light blue vial, the crow faunus dropped the vial into the mist that had covered a fair amount of the battle-field. As the vial smashed, the ice dust contained within the bottle infused with the mist, causing the mist to go white. Chunks of ice began to quickly rip out of the mist as Basil continued the rain a barrage of bullets on Asche.

Asche allowed several more shots to hit him, reaching up to manually turn the dust cylinder on his mask. The man began took several deep breaths, exhaling massive clouds of blindingly thick smoke with each, filling the arena as his aura steadily declined

Taking advantage of his opponents temporary objective Basil loaded a clip of fire dust into his pistol and began to fire, approaching the man slowly.

The smoke thickened further, obscuring the arena almost entirely, and Asche charged towards Basil through the bullets, “Dragonsbreath; static” he instructed, and the next breath of smoke pulsed forward, driven towards Basil by waves of pure force.

Basil dived out of the way, landing on the floor on the floor but quickly rolling back to his feet. This time the faunus darted towards the man, switching his pistol back to a sickle and swinging it towards the man’s face and as he thrust his sword forward.

As Basil’s weapons struck towards Asche, he let loose another burst of force-driven smoke, deflecting the sickle while the sword bit into his aura, “Hm…” he grumbled, taking the chance to grasp the blade of Basil’s sword, “Dragonsbreath;Wildfire.”

Basil attempted to loosen Asche’s grasp on his sword by thrusting it forwards with as much power as possible and once again taking a swing at the man’s head with his sickle.

Just before the strike connected, Asche let loose a massive torrent of whipping flames that raced towards the crow faunus. Before they connected, however, the buzzer sounded, interrupting his attack.

The flames stopped as quickly as they had begun, and Asche looked up towards the board to see that his aura had dropped well into the red, declaring Basil the winner. He looked back at his opponent and released the sword pressing against his stomach.

“Good fight, gentlemen.” the bespectacled teacher announced. The respirator on Asche’s face concealed the slight smirk as he quickly departed the floor, and Professor Goodwitch rolled the match selection once more as Basil departed as well. The final pair of images were no surprise to anyone, as they were the only two students yet to have fought; the first was of a dark skinned girl with honey-coloured eyes and lavender hair pulled back into hundreds of tiny braids, each threaded through with different coloured ribbons, and the second had bronzed skin offset by long black hair and soot-coloured eyes. “The next match shall be between Honey Clover and Cinis Vulcan.”

It wasn’t really an interesting fight to any of the others watching, as it had been a long lesson already. Honey kept her distance and used her semblance to distract the other girl with her shawl, animated in the shape of an origami bee. Cinis for the most part easily blocked any attacks with her scutum shield, but the sheer size of her shield meant the mage was able to easily keep distance between the pair.

Cinis eventually attempted to switch her shield into it’s hand cannon form, sheathing her gladius to do so. Honey took advantage of her opponents lack of both protection and offense in those few seconds to bombard her with Dust spells, overwhelming her with elemental attacks within seconds.

“Good job, ladies.” the blonde professor congratulated as the buzzer crossed out Cinis’s name. Professor Goodwitch turned to the gathered and students and addressed them as the pair rejoined their classmates. “You all performed admirably. Now, this lesson has run overtime slightly but next lesson we shall go over any faults shown in this round, and we shall start the second round of the tournament. Homework is to practise, as always. Class dismissed.”
@PyromaniacwolfI'm sitting in the CLRT doc if you want to get the fight going.

You missed me ,sorry. I'm currently using my ipad and I can't get google doc working on it :/ ( if anyone knows an app on amazon fire for google docs, please tell)

Can you get on at any point tomorrow?
Yeah I'd say Dolor would usually be with him , unless specified not to bring him but even then the bird would probably watch through a window or something.
I'll be able to work on the battle later today ( sadly it's only early right now and I've got school)
I'd be up for sparring if Basil's full intro is done before the sparring begins, if not I don't mind missing it.
Sorry about the late post, homework and holiday arrangments kind of made me forget about the rp. ( Also not sure how to make the post title larger)
Basil and Viola

Basil stretched in his chair as he awoke from his rest, he hadn't intended to fall asleep but he had drifted off about halfway through the journey. He quickly stood, causing a book in his lap to fall onto the floor. The faunus kneeled over to retrieve it, putting it into one of the smaller bags the trainee huntsman had brought with him.

After the pale boy finished stashing the old leather-bound book he approached the window of the ship, wondering if they were near arriving. When he looked out of the window, the crow faunus was expecting to see the deep blue ocean beneath him. However he instead saw the bustling streets and magnificent buildings contained within Vale. He then looked further into the distance to see the massive Beacon academy.

Across the aisle sat a large man in a military uniform sat silently, watching out the windows as they approached the Academy

“Not bad” The faunus muttered as he began to collect his belongings and head towards the ship's exit.

“A fine school, a bit too loose with the rules for my taste but they do produce quality Huntsman.” the lesser general agreed as he rose from his seat.

As Basil exited the ship he saw a man with grey hair looking at him as he drunk from a mug in his hands, he seemed to be expecting him.

“Basil Trista Plagas,” said the greyhead in a pleasant voice, “I trust your journey here was uneventful?”

The faunus nodded ”About as eventful as it should have been really”

“Well, one may never really be certain of everything that goes on, especially in such turbulent times,” the greyhead took a moment to sip from his cup, “do you know who I am?”

The boy looked at the grey haired man for a moment before shaking his head “I’m afraid I don’t.”

“I go by Ozpin. I’m the current headmaster of this school. I figured I could spare you the trouble of having to make you walk all around my school by meeting you here.”

Basil looked at his baggage for a moment before returning his gaze to Ozpin “Thank for your consideration, professor Ozpin”

“Eissen Smith reporting, Sir. I was assigned to escort Cadet Plagas from Atlas.” the soldier greeted stepping from the airship to give the headmaster a quick salute.

The headmaster allowed himself a small smile while giving an equally small nod.“Always a pleasure to see you, Smith. I trust you won’t need the boy in order to finalize his transfer here, correct?”

“Affirmative, Headmaster.” Eissen nodded, “I believe we can release the cadet to his new team?” the red haired soldier suggested.

“Splendid. Let’s lead him to the dorm room and we can be on our way.”

Formalities out of the way, the trio made their way from the airship port onto Academy grounds. following the stone pathway east towards the dorm.

“Your new room is number 207. If there is anything amiss, my office is right there,” Ozpin gestured with his staff towards the top of the highest tower in the vicinity, “I wish you a good day.”

The crow faunus glanced at the towards the tower and nodded “Thank you professor, hopefully there will be no issues that require your attention” . He took his belongings and walked towards the dormitory building, Dolor began to cawing as they approached the building “Quiet you..” the young huntsman whispered as he entered the base of the building.

As the two crows entered the dorm for the first time, a red haired student passed by on the way out of the dorm, pausing a moment to stare at the the small bird on Basil’s shoulder. The man sniffed the air before shaking his head and carrying on, out of the entry hall and into the open air of the academy plaza.

Basil raised an eyebrow as the man sniffed the air and moved on before moving along himself. After a few moments of walking in silence the faunus reached the elevator and pressed the button that would take him to the first floor. After exiting the elevator moved along the corridor, checking each of the room’s numbers as he did. Eventually he reached room 207 and proceeded to knock on the door, wanting to at least be remotely polite when meeting his new team for the first time.

”One moment please,” chimed in a female voice. True to her words, the door opened not a moment later to reveal a Violet haired girl with blue eyes and a small beauty mark underneath her left eye. Confusion seemed to cross her face as she quickly gave him a once over causing a small twitch in her left eye at the lack of color variation,

“Good evening,” she smiled politely while doing a practiced curtsy, “to what do I owe the pleasure?”

”Well due to one of your teammates being excluded from Beacon, I’ve been transferred from Atlas. I’m your new teammate.” Basil replied

“Excluded...right,” said the witch as her smile became more practiced, “come right in. You’ll have to excuse my teammates lack of presence. No one informed us you’d come here today.”

“It’s fine, I’m sure they have other things to do at the moment. I’ll need to sort my baggage out anyway, I’m sure I’ll have met them by the end of the day As Basil finished speaking Dolor cawed and stared longingly at the window.

The witches eye seemed to light up as she registered the source of the noise, “well now, I do believes proper introduction are in order, I’m Viola Lis Marsilea,” she finished, with an identical curtsy to the one made earlier.

“I am Basil Trista Plagas, pleasure to meet you.” Basil returned Viola’s curtsy with a shallow bow

“Aaaaand,” the young adult chimed, waiting on Basil to continue.

“Ah, this is Dolor, my crow,” the faunus replied stroking his pet's head affectionately

“It’s a pleasure to meet you both,” she said sweetly before her smile faltered for a second, “Tierra’s bed...was the top bed of the bunk, and half of the changing room next to...hmm, I wonder...”

The pale boy raised and eyebrow “What are you thinking?”

“I share a changing room with Sir Argent, much like you will with Miss Cereza. But if you’re willing to wait till they come, we could make it so me and Miss Cereza share one changing room, while you and Sir Roan would share another.”

“I see, well I can wait for the others so we can organise the changing rooms”

“Splendid,” she said with a single clap of her hands, “perhaps while we wait you could tell me more about your little friend.”

“Of course, there’s not to much to tell however. I suppose I’ll start with how I found him, I actually found the little fellow a few days before I started Atlas Combat Academy. Tiny little bird when I found him, I decided to keep him since he was alone, the rest is simple really, he stayed around and helped me with his….unique ability” The faunus explained.

“Oh dear. By chance, did he fail on his first flight when you found him?”

“Yes I believe he did, there was an abandoned nest a few feet away with no other crows in sight. Oh well, there loss the boy explained while stroking the bird.

“Is he friendly?” asked the witch while eyeing the had Basil used to pet the bird.

The faunus smiled slightly “Depends if he likes you or not” he replied.

“...hmm,” she said thoughtfully while extending a hand, but moving it lower, aligning it with the birds feet,”may I have a moment of your time Mister Dolor?”

The crow tilted his head and looked at the girl's hand before doing a movement with his wings similar to a shrug.

Viola would try and befriend Dolor without pause, stopping only when her teammates arrived. Whether Basil didn’t stop her out of politeness or amusement, she may never know.
Due to a few school issues ( homework) and the fact it was my birthday today, I haven't been able to work on Basil's arrival post until now, sorry about that.
If anyone's available now I'm starting to work on it now.
I should be able to get it started although I probably won't be able to finish it.
I could start it tonight if anyone is available to help correct any minor mistakes
Basil Trista Plagas

Basil sighed as he packed away the last of his belongings, ‘Why did I have to be the odd one out? Typical, get through a life threatening initiation then get moved across the ocean.’ As the pale boy finished grumbling his crow, Dolor, landed next to him and looked at him. ”Come on you, in the cage,” Basil said and pointed at a nearby bird cage. The bird looked distastefully at the cage and then back to it’s master. ” Ugh, fine, go out for another twenty minutes or so, but don’t leave the academy’s grounds in case we leave early.” The bird gave a joyful caw and quickly flew away.

A few moments later heavy steps ould could be heard, followed by a sharp knock on the door. ”Cadet Plagas, I need to have a word with you.” Came a firm voice. ”I have news regarding your team assignment.”

As the teacher spoke Basil turned from his belongings, stepping towards door and opening it to allow the older huntsman standing into the room, ” Has it been decided where I’m going? Vacuo? Mistral? Vale?”

”That’s General Smith, Cadet Plagas. Manners,” he said, stepping into the dorm room. ”Good news is we have located a suitable team.” He looked at the freshly packed bags and empty cage, ”Sadly, a newly initiated student at one of the other academies has been charged with murder, she is awaiting sentence, however the simple fact of the matter is she is no longer eligible as a student of Beacon Academy.”

“Apologies, General Smith, this whole situation has me very….irritated.” Basil closed the open birdcage as he spoke, ” So, General, is there anything I need to know about this new team of mine? He asked the blue eyed officer.

The instructor nodded, ”Understandable, cadet, these transfers tend to be quite stressful.” Eisen took a large scroll from a pocket within his uniform jacket, opening the device to profiles for Basil’s future teammates, ”Cereza Floriciente, human female, 17 years old, team leader. Viola Marsilea, human female, 17 years old. Argent Roan, human male, 17 years old, Viola’s partner. Cadet Floriciente will be your partner on this team..”

With a flick across the screen, General Smith transferred the basic profiles to Basil’s scroll, ”Everything you need to know about your team. Names, weapons, and faces. Personal details are at their discretion to provide. Any questions?”

The crow eyed youth retrieved his own scroll from the small black satchel hanging from his side, opening the device to examine his future team. The faunus looked upon them with distaste, after a few moments his distaste changed to satisfaction as he shrugged and returned his scroll to the pouch Basil pulled it from. “I have no questions, General,” The dark haired student replied.

”Very good. You’ll be departing for Vale first thing tomorrow morning, make sure you have all of your belongings and said goodbyes if you have them.” General Smith instructed, turning to take his leave, [b]”I think you’ll like Vale, I have a cousin who works at Signal.”[b] With that, he took his leave, closing the door firmly in his wake.

Basil sighed after the older man left the room and returned to looking out the window. The faunus had no goodbyes to make and everything was packed, he just stared out the window and began to think about his future in Vale.
