"Excellent" Lucian said as the little bug began the battle. This battle would be over quickly, no bug can stand more than a few blasts of fire from a fire type of even equal power. He just hoped the bugs would honor their deal when the battle was over "Houndour, roll to the left and use embers." Lucian ordered.
Houndour did as he was told, rolling with a more practiced motion then previously, attempting to avoid the venipedes rollout before firing a barrage of embers at the poisonous bug.
Semblance: Plague Warning-Manipulates aura so the user emits a cloud of fog which, if it touches an enemy, will temporarily give them an affliction/disease. (Note-for simplicity sake, just assume the fog does damage to oppenents aura, then flesh at a slower rate. Same deal for Grimm but their all flesh so...yeah
Weapon: The Bone Sifters - A sword and a sickle with a chain attached that is capable of transforming ino a pistol-when thrown the sickle is able to reach about 15m
Personality: Basil is naturally a bitter person due to his past, fortunately he also has a keen mind that has helped him survive for years without much help. He has had a recently growing greed due to his success in the criminal underworld of Vale however and his developed a taste for the finer things in life despite his rather poor upbringing. Despite the fact he is faunus, Basil is not particularly bothered by the high tension between the humans and faunus, mainly because he wears his mask at almost all times so very few people question his race and his mindset that "somebody needs to take the fall".
Bio: Basil was born in a small town north of Vale, he was raised by his father, Vert Plagas, and his mother, Violet Plagas. His father taught him everything he knew about medicine and semblances. By the time he was 14 he took over his father's work as the town's only doctor. A few weeks after Basil took over his father's work the village was attacked by a roaming group of beowolves. They destroyed everything, very few of the townsfolk knew how to fight effectively and were slaughtered. Basil's mother was killed quickly, however the beowolves slashed at his father's thigh before a lone hunter brought it down. Basil thanked the huntsman and quickly checked on his father, however he realized he was bleeding out. With no medicine or bandages to help him Basil was forced to watch as his father bled out. Thrown into complete shock by the events that occurred, Basil simply left his old home without a word. This also caused a huge personality change in Basil, he no longer wanted to help people. Where had helping people got him up to then? Eventually Basil made his way to the main city of Vale after spending weeks travelling from town to town. Having little luck finding any jobs due to his race or his bitter attitude , he turned to crime. At first he only committed petty theft to gather enough food to survive, however gradually he began to realize his skills in medicine and chemistry could be put to less legitimate uses. Donning a plague doctor mask to hide his face and to allow him to safely work with his substances, eventually his work and success attracted the attention of local crime-lords who offered him additional protection along with a larger area of influence. While Basil used the goons more as guards, he also used them as sparring partners so he could refine his own fighting technique in the event his guards were eliminated. Eventually Basil began to complete more hands on tasks in his organisation, robbing stores and demanding money from people who could not afford to pay for Basil's narcotics anymore, this lead to the faunus gaining a hefty bounty on his head and Vale, although it is yet to be claimed by anyone. After the attack on Mistral by the Grimm and a call to arms to Beacon Fort, Basil decided it was time to exact his revenge on the Grimm. The faunus allowed his goons to protect his underworld monopoly while he was away, but told them they would pay with their lives if they allowed it to crumble. Now Basil made his way to Beacon Fort, hoping the authorities would swallow their pride for a time and that the do-gooders who had heard of him would not jump on him to collect his bounty.

Not sure if you're allowing pets, I don't mind removing him if you'd rather they weren't a thing.
I'm going to write something up a character for this RP, should be up soon. A character from the Vale Underworld (think Torchwicks and Juniors gangs) is alright isn't it? Just thought it best to mention it considering what you said in the setting.
Vauldis watched as the adventurers left the town for their adventure, after they were a fair distance away he turned back to the town and continued his investigation of it. As the necromancer searched the town, realizing there was little of interest in the town, he entered the store that seemed to be the meeting point for the survivors. Looking around at the people in the shop he spoke "Would any of you happen to have any use for an old alchemist? Perhaps you're feeling ill? Or perhaps you're potion stock is low?" He asked, directly addressing who he assumed to be the owner of the store.
Houndour jumped out of the way of the venipede's attack and growled at his attacker. Lucian clapped his hands in delight before he addressed the group of bugs "Wonderful! Some pokemon actually worth my time, unlike those miserable little worms in the outer forest!" Lucian inspected the group of poisonous bugs for a moment, especially the aggressive one that had attacked houndour before he spoke again "Okay gentlemen, and if any of you are ladies I suppose, here's the deal; houndour fights your hot-headed friend here and if he wins, he comes with me and will become stronger than he could ever be sticking around here. If houndour loses, I will take him and any of you who are hurt to be healed at the huts in the outer forest. Perhaps even get a few bugs for you to eat,hm?" He added "You eat those little bugs from the outer forest, right?" After stating his offer to the group of poisonous insects that were probably more concerned with eating houndour than any caterpie, he waited for a response while putting his hand on houndour's head.
Lucian approves of this situation. SO I'm just double checking, we're going with the idea that all pokemon are self-aware/ intelligent right? Not just captured ones being smart and the rest are basically wild animals.
Lucian sighed as houndour tracked yet another weedle hiding behind a bush, he watched in disappoint as it nibbled on a pile of leaves, completely unaware of his company. Holding his head for a moment, he addressed his partner "Tell me there is something else, anything would be better than these worms". As the trainer spoke, houndours head rose for a moment before it returned to the floor and followed in the direction of the new scent he had detected. Hope appeared in Lucian's eyes as he noticed the dark type's activity. Houndour tracked the mysterious poison type's scent and Lucian followed, deeper into the Infested Woods.
