“… So you think it’s weird too…” Lydia frowned to herself. “I didn’t even think about it until someone mentioned it...” She thought a moment, before glancing up at the other people watching. “Whatever, ignore them… They’ll talk about it anyway…” She looked back at Adrian before remembering what she was saying. “I didn’t even think it was weird! Someone told me I need to think about it because people aren’t rooting for me to win the exit exam because of our weird thing we have. In his own words. I wondered if you thought it was weird too.” Lydia paused a moment, thinking.

She went on a moment later, “ I mean, yeah, the first person I talked to after winning first was you, but that wasn’t my fault, you sort of came to me, so that was /your/ fault… But, you know, I still look like the weird one in it anyway. That’s the way it works. Hero standards, I guess… but then, like, after Thomas attacked me, you came to me… again… and I crumpled into tears like some preteen who didn’t get asked out to the prom! I didn’t even plan on telling you… It’s stupid.” She reached up, grabbing her own hair in frustration. “It’s so warm in here,” she griped, but looked around again.

“And the rank thing, most of the students here don’t even believe it’s true!” Lydia frowned. “… I just can’t think very clearly right now, so I’m gonna need you to do the thinking for me. Are we weird?”
"... Ugh so much cooler," she leaned against the rail, the gears turning in her head. /We know what your type is... Fuck that guy./. "... Seriously, what does he mean?" She frowned, turning to Jas. "That pisses me off... The unholy angel wants to say-"

"Never mind that," Jas replied, smoothly, derailing Lydia's oncoming rant, resting his elbows on the rail. He looked up at her. "I actually wanted to talk to you about the exit exam." Lydia straightened up, a bit annoyed, ready to tear a chunk out of him. "Woah there," Jas soothed, raising his hands up. "Take it easy. You're as difficult to deal with as a chihuahua crossbred with a cactus. I'm not trying to talk you out of it. I just want to know that you know what you're getting into..." He turned around, leaning back against the rail. "Because you're not a bad fighter, and you /seem/ to have a strong desire to do good..."

"What's that mean?" Lydia returned, a bit calmer, walking across the deck, the cool air blowing across her skin. "Exit exam, it's really serious. Um, big arena that's different every year. Power advantage is different usually. Last year was good for earth types... Dangerous. People get really violent." She paused, ruffling her hair.

"Did you know people have died?" Jas questioned. "I've seen it. And they don't show that on screen. Then they make you, and everyone forget that person existed... Except the people who physically see it... They can't make us forget that... Definitely not a game, Lydia."

"I didn't say it was! I'm taking it seriously..." Lydia muttered.

"No, you're not." Jas shook his head. "You've plateaued, haven't you?" Lydia stiffened, trying to figure out how he knew that. "Thought so..." When Lydia protested, he explained, "Before, when we fought, you'd improve at a scary rate. Last time, you didn't get any better... You're slow, Lydia, and not terribly creative. You have a short attack radius. A long distance enemy like Mythos could take you out easily... Have you considered anything to overcome these? Your strength, Lydia, is not useful to you anymore. The reason you've plateaued is because that's the only thing you work on... And that's great but you need other talents."

"Did you come out here to insult me?" Lydia asked, gloomily.

"No, I came out here to avoid forgetting you existed." He answered. "Seriously, though, I'm trying to help you, and you're still angry... You're a hell of a lot nicer half-drunk. Maybe you should stay half-drunk," Jas frowned. Lydia flipped him off. "No, seriously. You've been here four years and haven't even tried to associate with anyone, except Adrian... It's like you view us as your enemies and him as your ally..."

"You're all my enemies," Lydia protested.

"Lydia, whatever you have going on with him is kind of... Weird. It's unnatural." Jas frowned. "I'm just telling you, hero to hero, it's weird to be that close to your villain. Do you see me making lunch dates with Titan? Let me ask you this. After you won in the arena, who's the first person you talked to about it?" /Adrian.../ "Exactly, you went to see Adrian. I know you did because the whole school was talking about it. You left the arena without even a word to go tell Adrian," he replied, reading the slightly guilty look on her face. "The last big thing that happened?" Lydia recalled Thomas's attack, and how afterwards, she'd gotten consolation from Adrian. "I don't know the answer this time but I can guess. It's not normal. There's a crazy rumor that you and Adrian have always stayed the same rank, the whole four years, but I don't even believe that..." He shook his head. "Without planning it, it's impossible... And I can't believe that you'd be that crazy. No one is rooting for you to win the exit exam because of all this weird bullshit... I've had freshmen come to me to ask me if it's normal to be that close to your villain. It's confusing the freshmen, and embarrassing the seniors... You should probably get that settled."

Lydia reflected on his words. /Is he right? Are we unnaturally close? I mean, we didn't plan the rank thing... But it is really weird... I didn't plan to see Adrian after the last rank match, just sort of happened. He came to see me... The Thomas thing... I still don't know why I told him... He always saves my ass when I need it... Isn't that normal?/ she silently reflected on it. "It is kind of weird... Yeah, I don't know. Thanks, I guess. I'll think about it. All of it. How to get stronger, and Adrian..." /I wonder what he thinks.../ She backed away. "Excuse me." She headed inside, walking toward the living room, mentally confused by what Jas said. Realizing the temperature inside the building, she slipped her coat off, annoyed. /It's hotter than the fires of hell in here.../ She tied it around her waist, forgetting that the bruises on her neck were the reason she was wearing it, glancing around at the people she passed.

She spotted Adrian in the center of the same room he'd been in before, and she called out to him. "Heeeey! Adrian!" She hollered, waving. She saw that girl from before skipping off, and she frowned to herself. /Wonder what he's said to her to make her so happy...?/ She wondered. /Worry about that later./ "Adrian," she strolled toward him, moving past Dillon, grabbing Adrian's wrist, tugging on it. "Hey! Do you think our relationship is unnatural?" The question came out a bit louder and differently than she intended, the word unnatural drawn out, and she saw a few nearby heads swivel in interest, but she ignored them, looking up at him, deeply curious. Her cheeks were still flushed from the alcohol in her system.
“… Flush,” Lydia lay her hand down, to the silence of the table, smirking to herself in triumph. She'd been doing decently. She would have thought that being more sober than them would have gotten her an advantage but it really didn't. The fact that she barely knew how to play was a handicap.
“Shit! Hell, I could have beat that!” Erin protested, his voice slurring just slightly. “I had a full house…”
“Shouldn’t have folded. I got nothing,” Dynabane lay his cards down, resting his elbows on the table.
“Ugh, that’s stupid…” One of the hero girls sitting next to Dynabane protested the result of the game. “Just ‘cuz she was really good at lying… oh! We'd already started, so- so she's got an ad... Advantage,” the girl in question was a medium-high rank hero Lydia had beat without much thought. Lydia didn't think about her much even now.
"She has no advantage," Dynabane muttered. "We'd only done one round when she arrived and we made her take a shot before she started. Don't cause problems, Lu. She's not even winning."
There was a pause. "She's not?"
"No, I am." Dynabane frowned.
"Oh... Kick 'er ass, J."
"He tried," Lydia couldn't help but grin.
"Those are fighting words, J!" Lu protested.
Lydia laughed, more honestly and deeply than she had in awhile. Dynabane shook his head, but he was smiling a bit. Once she'd calmed down, Lydia fanned her face, still grinning. "It's really hot in here... I think I'm done. Gonna go cool off..." She got to her feet, chair pushing out behind her.
Erin questioned, "Liquor getting to you, Lydia?" At the same time Lu blurted, "Forfeit! She's leaving the game! Yes!"
"Shut it, you two," Lydia said, not entirely unaffectionately.
They fell silent. "That was kinda..." Lu paused.
"Who are you? What have you done with the bitch?" Erin frowned.
Lydia burst into laughter again, unable to help it, her blonde hair falling in her face. She spoke again when she calmed down, "You're hilarious... Seriously though, I need some air..." She rubbed her face, feeling the heat off it. "Excuse me."
"I'll go with you, I need to talk to you anyway," Dynabane got to his feet.
"Uh. You be careful." Erin paused. "J, is that wise? You're not careful, you'll wake up with a demon to rival Lilith..."
"Erin, this is serious," Dynabane gave him a look. "I'm discussing serious matters..."
"Ehhh... Whatever, Jas. Go on."
"If you're implying anything weird, forget it. I'm not even interested." Lydia waved them all off. "Not even close to my type."
"Yeah... We know what your type is," Erin's voice was thinly veiled, alluding to something that made Lydia suspicious, as he gathered the cards up.
"The hell does that mean?" Lydia protested. Jas headed towards the door and Lydia followed, giving Erin a dirty look, as she headed outside.
It's been a long time since I've been to this site. A very long time, but I'm back, and I've got the thirst. The thirst to RP. I'm sure y'all know it.

As always... I'd love to have a fun roleplay. All the posters on here sound so serious! I'm not even a little bit serious. Okay, maybe just a tiny bit. Serious about roleplay but not about being serious. Y'know?

I'm looking for a roleplay we can sort of goof off with, have a good time. Have a pair of well-developed characters that aren't sues and are well written. I usually like a standard paragraph or two, but if it's a really GOOD roleplay, I can go the distance (as you'll see in my post history if you check that out.). I'll get really intense about a roleplay I like, so if the characters are good, and we have fun, I can get into basically any kind of thing. I can play any gender character, and I'd prefer it if you're not one of those "can only play my own gender" types. Nothing against it, I just like a partner who's a little more flexible.

Here's the kind of thing I like the most though...

MxM
MxF
Vampires (not sparklepires)
Demons
Angels
Fairies (Midieval seelie / unseelie court fairies)
General fantasy
Romance
High School Settings
Unusual settings (Example: Once, I nearly started a roleplay about a girl who summoned a demon to help her run a bakery and I was so excited but it died after two posts and I was sad).

Kind of thing I won't do:

Superheroes (Already got the best superhero roleplay I could have)
Fandoms

I /MAY/ do mature content. But I also /MAY NOT/. It'll depend on how comfortable I am with you. I've only done one mature roleplay with a friend I've known for 6 years so I wouldn't hang a flag on the possibility of this.

I /DO/ have a really weird craving right now. And it's totally weird and you're welcome to laugh but it's just a thing, a learning thing, if you will... I've been wanting to try a roleplay where all the dialogue is in Japanese, not the characters but the spoken out words like "ringo", but everything else is in english. In this sort of thing, I don't know Japanese. I'm gonna assume you probably don't either! That's okay! It's more of a learning experience for me to learn some vocabulary from google translate. And you too, obviously! If you want to do it, I mean.

Plots:

Character A is a photographer for his monthly pinup / erotic magazine, Alpha. This would be perfectly normal if Alpha wasn't a werewolf magazine. Once a month, Character A takes photographs of his super sexy werewolf clientele, all while making a promise to himself that he wouldn't make any moves (or accept any moves) from his clients... This plot can go every or any direction, this would just be the basic setup for the tale. Maybe a client in particular opts to make this tough, or.. I don't know. Whatever. :)

A thief wanders across the country, trying to survive, all while keeping his powers hidden from the townspeople, fearing for the safety of his life. When he sees the pregnant queen dying from an infection, he loses resolve and uses his powers to help her, and as a result, the king forces him into servitude, in case it happens again. The thief attracts the 'attention' of the king's oldest son... and trouble ensues.

A plot involving a druggie who has never known love or intimacy, or even a safe home, drifting from man to man, high to high. She meets an old friend who's been cured of her drug addiction and tells the druggie to go visit the man who cured her. Curious, she decides to go visit, not knowing she may or may not be meeting with the devil.

Guy A is in a committed relationship with his boyfriend. He, at least, is committed. His musician boyfriend is constantly travelling from show to show... partner to partner. Guy A struggles to maintain his relationship with his boyfriend, constantly stressing and fearing he's doing something to lose his boyfriend. His best friend has always wanted to be something more, and decides to offer his best friend comfort... and the two of them begin having a secret affair behind Guy A's boyfriend's back. What will Guy A decide to do?

Okay. If you're still here, I'll do PMs, threads, emails. Just shoot me a pm, I'll be happy to hear from you. :)
Lydia could hear the noise coming from downstairs, of too loud music and people yelling, and she sat in her chair, her arms crossed over her body, thinking to herself. It sounds like a mess down there. she flexed her fingers. I didn't stand a chance against that plant of his. I was nearly devoured. I... I guess I always knew my strength wasn't everything. Does this mean Willow is technically stronger than me? I need something more.

She pushed some of her hair back off her face, deep in thought. I've hit the wall, I know... But damn. That wasn't a fight. It was a sacrifice. That was me, being sacrificed to Willow's plant monster. I was beating it with a pool ladder. And not phasing it.

Frustrated, Lydia rose to her feet, slipping her jacket on over her tank top. "How am I supposed to get stronger?" She flung her door open, heading towards the party, a scowl fixed on her face. She spotted Adrian, and some girl - she disregarded them. She was too annoyed to bother with him now.

Why am I down here? It'll only piss me off more. she glanced towards the door, spotting Willow talking with her least favorite person in the whole school. He was looking around awkwardly, probably worrying Lydia would pop out of nowhere. oh hell no. That time witch better not even look at me. I'll kill her. she turned on her heel and walked the opposite direction, towards the heroes' room. She snatched a glass of wine off a tray as she passed it.

She proceeded into the heroes' room, leaning against the wall, to study the attendees. "Don't you guys look like you're just having the time of your life?"

"Lydia, dial your bitch down to a one." Erin muttered, folding his wings against his back. "No one here wants to listen to you being a hormonal bitch."

Lydia's eyes narrowed, annoyed, but after a moment, shrugged. "True enough. I'll retain my inner bitch as best I can... Seriously, what are you doing?"

"Shot poker. Lose the round, take a shot. Last legs of the game mostly revolve around the girls crying and everyone else confused about what game we're playing." Dynabane shrugged. "I'd invite you but you're too much of a hardass to even have fun..."

"I have fun!" Lydia scowled. "Just not this kind..."

"Well, then don't join. I'm not your biggest fan anyway." Erin muttered, adjusting the girl on his lap.

Lydia scowled, but looked around. "Maybe just a few rounds..." I'm resistant to alcohol anyway.
Josh snickered. "Isn't that an interesting question?... You know, for me to match up with Lydia... It was easy. Check her rank, match my own to that number. Easy enough. But for those two, that task is much more difficult. Especially when you realize that they both gave 100% to every match that they fought at the same time... You know, that question is one probably better posed to them. Ask them how long they've matched up." He shrugged. "I wouldn't recommend asking how close they are..." He grinned. "But the other answer is interesting enough." He swiped at his shirt. "If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go change."
Josh rolled his eyes. "Honestly? The only thing Lydia cares about is Lydia. I guess my feelings are kind of complicated... I'm going to get my reward for it. I get to graduate, keep my powers, and be virtually responsibility free? Yes please. Sign me up." He rubbed his shoulder. "I'd like to really kick her around at least once, but Lydia believes in grudges, is incredibly durable, and... then I'd have to deal with Adrian."

Josh shrugged, half-heartedly. "It was easy for me to keep up with Lydia, I'd watch her and see how she did and adjust my success accordingly... but I have no clue how she and Adrian kept their ranks so perfectly on par. It's almost suspicious."
“She wouldn’t listen if I did apologize… I even told her it would be dangerous and she’s still mad,” Josh glanced at Dillon. “Another one of her many, many good points…” He shifted, a little awkward at Benjamin’s arm on his shoulder, reflecting on what Benjamin said, finally sighing.

"Geez, is that still going around?" Josh muttered under his breath, finishing scooping the crackers up. "I figured it would die out now that it's been three years..." he rose to his feet, awkwardly shaking Benjamin's arm off him, choosing to speak up. "It's not as romantic as it sounds... I mean, my intentions. Not really romantic. It's kind of a long story. Too long for the rumor mill, anyway." He dumped them in the trash and rinsed the bowl out, turning and leaning against the counter.

“It’s really complicated… I don’t know if you want to hear it or not. I’m returning a favor, while making up for who I was three years ago…” He frowned. “Trust me, she’s not my type.” He opened up a cabinet, looking for more cheese crackers to replace the ones he’d dropped. "I like girls who are intelligent, and don't act like they want to strangle me everytime they see me... Lydia's making progress. She's not completely against me helping her, she knows my name now, what my powers are, and she's letting me help her get better at fighting..." he lowered his voice, muttering, "Even if she bitches about it..." He was silent a second before the other two encouraged him on, so he shrugged. "It's a little long and it's going to be kind of hard to explain, but I'll give it a try..."

“I was a hero, and my first match I was ranked in the 8th spot. That doesn’t mean I’d be a good hero or ready to graduate… just that I’m a good fighter.” He paused. “In the arena, I noticed very little, it was such a commotion, but I did notice Lydia, and particularly what I noticed was how absolutely terrible she was.” He frowned, crossing his arms. “She didn’t know what she was doing, and it showed. She just attacked anything that got close to her, no strategy or talent or anything, just strength and nothing else. It was pitiable.” He frowned. “It bothered me to see someone with so little chance trying so hard…”

He thought a moment, then went on. “I thought I was better than everyone else then, so I beat her and moved on. It embarrassed me to see her even fight.” He shook his head. “Flash forward a few weeks, I got attacked by some classmates. They said a lot of things I needed to hear, sealed my powers and beat the crap out of me. Of course, out of everyone who could come along, it was Lydia. Without a second thought, she jumped in. Later, I found out she had no idea who I even was.” He frowned. "She had a grudge against the guy in the arena but she didn't even recognize me... she beat the crap out of them, and moved on, ignoring me completely. She was strong, but she couldn't graduate, though she was determined to. If she wanted to win, she needed help. So I changed to the sidekick side. Not because I liked her... but because she was kind of pathetic... I wasn't cut out to be a hero anyway. I never had that drive to succeed..." He laced his fingers behind his head. "Being the hero is too much work. I'd rather help someone else succeed over fighting to do it myself."
Lydia stormed inside, still covered in plant slime and concrete dust and dirt, as she moved past the servants and through the house, Josh following after her, seeming annoyed. Lydia stopped at the food table, and flung the bowl at Josh. He flung his arms up to defend himself, and she hit him square with it, causing an orange cheese dust cloud to rise around him and making a mess on the floor. Josh coughed, accidentally inhaling the cheese dust cloud. “Ugh! What was that for?” He complained, looking around, shooting an apologetic glance at the servants.

“That’s for almost killing me,” she scowled.

“Why do you have to be such a bitch all the time?” Josh scowled. Lydia turned a corner, going off to her room. Josh glanced at Benjamin, Dillon, and the assorted group of people standing around. “Uh, I didn’t actually try to kill her, she’s… sorry about this mess. She’s… the same as always. Heroes, right? I’ll get a broom and clean this up.” He knelt down, scooping the cheese crackers into the now-empty bowl with his hand.

“... Uh, yeah, this is a good time to also mention that I’m sorry about what happened… in the backyard? I don’t know if you know about it yet, it’s kind of a mess,” he coughed, embarrassed. “Usually my plants don’t cause that much structural damage… to the ground…” He looked down at the crackers. “... although usually they don’t get that big,” he said in a quieter voice. He raised his voice, going on. “The pool, that was Lydia, and I apologize for that too… I mean, the pool’s okay, it’s not leaking or anything, just… missing a pool ladder."
As soon as the honey hit Josh’s bloodstream, he took off running for his room. He flung the door open and lunged for a box next to his bed. He flung the contents across the room, digging though the stuff. He grabbed the syringe and steadied his arm, injecting it. He ground his teeth, waiting for it to take effect. The effect was quick and powerful and he leapt to his feet, taking off running back outside. He skidded to a stop, just as he saw the plant lift Lydia and drop it into its large bell-shaped mouth, closing tight around her. “Lydia!” He yelled.

He stood unsure if he should shrink the plant or not, but he shrunk some of the limbs, removing the extra parts of the plant. He startled when suddenly the bell of the plant sliced open, and Lydia climbed out, cussing like a sailor. “You son of a BITCH,” she screamed at the plant. “I WILL TURN YOU INTO A FUCKING SALAD!” she screamed, a gooey liquid stuck to her skin. She swung her pool ladder at the plant, ripping a hole in the side of it. Josh rapidly shrunk it down, removing it from Lydia’s sight.

She whirled to face Josh, angrily. “This is your FAULT, where the hell did you go?”

“I was having a hypoglycemic attack!” Josh defended. “I was about to pass out! I had to get my medicine to shrink that thing because I didn’t have enough glucose!”

“You’re lucky you came back because I would have KILLED you when I got out of there!” Lydia threw the pool ladder. She stormed off, heading inside, leaving Josh to stare after her, embarrassed.
