So, this alternate Earth is basically the missing half nobody knew was missing. What're the joinings of the worlds like? Y'know, other than weird, wobbly space clouds and the reverse-gravity anomaly that was probably in STALKER (but I wouldn't know, because I never played the games 8D) and a few, rogue Forgotten Beasts. Are they just Stargate kind of portals, or is it as if both worlds have been stitched back together as if they're a single planet?
Well, it worked well enough in Sonic Rush. Done well, I can see it working. Even if there's a lot going on, something strong to align all the elements does the job. Still, this isn't too complicated when you step back.

The way I see it, this is a pair of mostly identical worlds that have developed similarly, grafted together at a few points, to adverse effects. It's basically people in battroidgundamechs from both worlds fighting to separate each other from their temporary allies, because leaving things alone would be the apocalypse. I think a big question is, does this Elysium know slapping the two worlds together is pretty much going to bork the universe? Maybe their plan is to gather all the powar and jump ship into some third pocket dimension—or maybe they're all crazies who don't really know what they're doing, despite being organized to accomplish what they have so far.
I'll be honest when I say the singing stuff has always made it difficult for me to take Macross seriously. Maybe it's because I never got too deep into the series. It first hit me when I was watching Macross Zero and everything seemed like all hard, sciencey stuff, then the island lady starts singing and I can't decide if this is magical fantasy or sci-fi...and I ignore the possibility of it being both, because I didn't have it rubbed all over my eyeballs at the very beginning. I suppose I have a bit more wiki trawling to do, but it seems like the guy who made Macross couldn't decide between having a world that ran on mana juice or supertech and stuck 'em together (because sufficiently advanced tech is indistinguishable from magic) without a thorough explanation. I suppose my suspension of disbelief holds up during the heat of the moment, but after the fact, I start to look back and wonder...

I can deal with magic and sci-fi being one and the same, but I think I just have some deep seated beef with singing being the way that magic is worked (words of power!? What is this travesty!).

Alright, I'm just going to put this game down, as I just can't bring myself to post. I didn't really think things through all the way and have been regretting it for awhile, so, sorry for wasting your time with this.

I'll be very surprised if there's a time on this website when I'm not late. Give it a few more hours if you're still around.
Hm. Maybe we could all discuss the plot? I know we have the basic jist of it, but, details. Like, which planet are we headed to first? I think Selachia should be last. Maybe we could all team up into pairs/trios and support each other's posts? I know for a fact that I was slow out of the gate with the start of the battle, because I wasn't quite sure what to do, even though I knew the objective and everything.

I'll post again today, since we've had both weekdays and a weekend, even if there was a Megabowl (or whatever the hell it's called). Figure I ought to just move things along. I'll keep Zaresto's character around for a bit, just in case.
Having survived another launch from the catapults, Mino fell into formation with Irry, following her orders. The long-range missiles only composed half of his capacity—he had made sure never to leave without proper, short range, dogfight missiles. He broke into a short, downward spiral as a number of Invid barreled past and demonstrated marksmanship even shoddier than his own. Mino glanced in the mirrors he had set up in his canopy and throttled forward to engage. He had just managed his first kill when a voice came over the radio.

“Wex to squadron. Bandits on my one. Engaging, someone cover me.” Mino looked over and found Tash in the distance, angling, ‘down,’ into a pack of shock troopers to his right.

“Copy, Wex, make way for missiles.” He brought the nose of his craft around as she made her strike and began the lock sequence. Once Tash broke far enough away from the Invid to give Mino a clear shot, he began to cycle through the targets he had lined up, gifting each with a pair of missiles before they could scatter too far. He nudged his Alpha into loose roll so that he could check his underside and rear as he awaited the results of his attack. Glad I didn’t waste all the fireworks on that first wave, he thought as the missiles hit home. One of the shock troopers began to pull away, before it collided with the debris of its fallen allies whom had been launched by the blasts. “That got ‘em, where to next?” Mino asked as he rocketed into a supporting position near Tash.

I've added Mike to the list, Incubus. Sorry for the wait.

You probably missed the / in the bbcode for your character's bio, though. May as well sort it out while you're here, no?
Heh. Good one. Anyways, I have it on my list of things to do to post today.
