They wanted the beauty queen they could show off to the neighbors. Instead, they got Lucy. She liked to read about vampires and fairies and watch horror movies, things she never really grew out of. She listened to metalcore and rock music, and wore clothes that were probably made for boys. They tried to make her their perfect daughter, tried in vain to change her. They signed her up for ballet, and bought her dolls and Barbies. They controlled her music and her friends, hoping that Lucy would take the initiative and become like all the other girls. But all that did was give Lucy the sense that she wasn't wanted, that she wasn't loved. It made her bitter and spiteful, and it sometimes made her hate herself. She started getting tattoos and piercings and dying her hair electric colors. All the little things that would undermine her parents. She wanted to get back at them for the way they treated her, and the way they caused her to treat herself.Now, on her eighteenth birthday, Lucy has committed one of the worst faults her parents could have ever conceived. She came out to them as bisexual. Disowned and kicked out, she’s left to her own devices. She tried to seek solace in the arms of her girlfriend, whom she had been with for over a year. However, upon arriving at her girlfriend's house, Lucy found her lip-locked with a pretty blonde boy.Why did your character want to come to this bar: Lucy has passed this bar for years, but has never gone inside. Newly 18 and with nowhere to go, she turns to the club for somewhere to take her mind off of her train wreck life.What color glow stick will they wear: Yellow and blue

Calvin "Richie Rich" Stephens

He is 28 years old and kind of super rich. His parents were top surgeons and his older sister also followed in their footsteps, so needless to say, the three brought in quite a bit of money. When they died (his parents in a car crash and his sister ironically had a surgery done on her that went wrong due to hospital/doctor negligence), Calvin inherited all their money, plus a large amount of money from the hospital in exchange for not suing them and dragging their names through the mud. After he got all the money, people started to call him Richie Rich. It ended up sticking, though most people do not know his back story.

Instead of wasting all the money, he put it in the bank and decided to open up a bar called Mingle. It would be a different and special bar, more of a hang out, club for teenagers and young adults. The minimum age to get in is sixteen (with a form of ID) and though there is no maximum age limit, usually the crowds are between 16 and 30.

Mingle does not serve alcohol. #1 because under-aged people are allowed in. #2 because alcohol messes with people's judgement.

It serves all forms of juice, smoothies, soft drinks, chocolate drinks, shakes, and serves all sorts of desserts and snacky foods.

There is often some form of live entertainment.

Mingle has a couple very special rules:
#1 16 and 17-year-olds have to wear a stamp on their hand to indicate their age. (It can't be washed off until at least 3 days)
#2 Everyone must wear a glow stick.

Why did he make a club like this?

Going to bars when he was younger had always been a headache. It was always hit or miss when it came to trying to meet people and make friends, or find a future romance. There was too much drama and people were 99.9% of the time drunk. He had always been an awkward person and also gay, so he found it hard to meet people.

This is why he has made the glow stick system. To make things a little more easier.

Green means single
Yellow means complicated
Red means taken

Oh... and blue means LGBT.

Saddie

She is kind of an unknown to everyone. People only know her by one name. She does not freely give info about herself out to someone she is not close to. She looks around 20, but could be older. She works for Richie Rich, serving drinks and helping with desserts. She seems shy and blushes easily.

Big Bob

Nobody knows what his real name is. He's a big half white, half Hispanic man who stands at the door to Mingle and checks IDs, stamps hands and prevents some people from coming in if they seem shady or like they would disturb the place. He is more or less a bouncer.

Windy Stephens

She is Richie Rich's cousin. She is 21 years old. She works in the club as the head dessert maker. She is also quite well off because Richie Rich gave her some of the settlement money he got from the hospital. Like Richie Rich, she does not like to flaunt her money around.

Hint: Everyone that trapped NPC guy has an important role to play. He may or may not stick around for a bit. Depends if I fall in love with him as a character. Just hope everyone likes where it takes things. To a cave of wonders! Wait, no... that's an Aladdin reference. Oops.

Most NPCs will be red shirts in the future. (since we don't want to kill our mains.... But sadly someone needs to die to keep things realistic, so it will fall to NPCs. If you want to kill your main and bring in another main, private message me. )

Please bear with me. I just saw this photo and had a really interesting idea. Maybe not too original. I don't know. Just checking for interest.

The setting: A Juice Bar (A hangout spot for teens (16+) and younger adults up to age 30.)

The plot:

Mingle is the name of a juice bar in a fictional city/state in the USA. There are a few rules at this bar. One if you are underage, you must have a stamp on your hand. This stamp will not come off with one washing, not even two washings. It lasts for at least a few days before wearing off. The reason it is made to last a few days is so that the underage can not wash the stamp off and pretend to be above the age of 18.

Another rule. Each person must select the glowing armband that fits their situation to make things so much easier. So yes, this is kind of a hang out, hook up place in a nice setting, that serves no alcohol to inhibit people's judgments. It is not a shady place and they do not let just anybody come in.

Green Glow Stick: Single
Yellow Glow Stick: It's Complicated
Red Glow Stick: Taken

There is one extra glow stick they can add to the first one they are wearing, if they so choose to wear it.

A Blue Glow Stick. It basically tells the others that the person wearing it happens to be part of the LGBT community.

This is a very open minded juice bar and they want people from all lifestyles to have a safe place to hang out.

Mingle is all about making things easier on finding people to get to know and make connections with, with out all the hassle of a jealous boyfriend coming out of the bathroom and threatening to kick your ass because you talked to his girlfriend. If she has a green glow stick, you can talk to her, but it does not mean she will be interested.

I guess the bar doesn't make everything easy.

Rules:

1. High Casual to low advanced. At least 3 paragraphs (or equivalent) and no oneliners or one paragraph.
2. No godmoding.
3. No Mary/Gary Sue/Stus (Perfect Characters with no flaws)
4. Post at least once a week, try for more if you can and wait for 2 people to post before posting again. Do not leave anyone too far behind. If you are gone for more than a week and you do not message me (Rarity), your character will be taken out of the RP. If you come back and still want to RP, you can resubmit your character if there are spots open.
5. All main characters must have a character sheet and be approved. You can have two main characters.
6. This is a sexuality friendly role play and romance friendly, duh. Any and all sexualities are allowed and you are encouraged to make your characters unique and different from each other. Please no love at first sight. There can be attraction at first sight, but let there be build up for any romances. Be realistic.
7. This starts out in the bar, but does not have to stay in the bar the whole time.
8. I hope to get this about making long term friendships and romances, and following our characters as they interact with each other day by day.
9. Don't forget to indicate somewhere in your posts, the color of your armband. Such as putting the color somewhere in your descriptions.
10. Have fun.
