A smile formed on Adam’s lips, but it held no warmth. When he was little, he was not able to lift anything with his mind except light weighted items, but when Elena got a hold on him she would not let him rest until he could lift anything he could see. “I can lift anything if I can see it.” He said finally as the lifeless smile left his face. “Nothing is too heavy or too far away, Elena made sure of that.” His eyes were distant for a moment before looking back at the girl across from him. “It has proven to be pretty useful though, so I guess I should be thankful that she pushed me so hard.” He added as an afterthought.
For a moment Adam stared into the fire as it grew brighter and then dimmed once more. It was as if she was trying to push him away with her fire, but he did not budge. Being close to a hot burning fire was not even in the top ten worse things that had even happened to him. A small conversation passed between them about the fire and Ciara revealed her fear of the dark and Adam glanced at her from the corner of his eye a little surprised that she admitted to a fear in front of him even though he remained silent about it.
He paid her a soft compliment when she apologized about her behavior, he actually was quite enjoying this side of her. Though her comment surprised him, he would have figured more men in her coven would have found this side of her more enduring. That is when it started to occur to him that she might be purposefully pushing the men in her life away. After offering the warmth of her jacket, a blush once more formed on her face. A light pink coloring across her cheek bones at his compliment and it made the wheels in his mind start turning. Slowly he pushed off the side of the building and took a step towards her and brushed her hair away from her face with a light brush of his fingertips. “Yes, I do indeed enjoy making you blush.” He admitted softly. His eyes looked down into hers intently, dancing with the flames of the fire, as if trying to figure out some secret in her eyes.
With a deep breath he stepped back and took the paper she had pulled from her back pocket and went back to lean against the wall again. His ears picked up on the sound of her voice but his mind did not process the words she said as he read and then re-read the words over and over again until they had been branded into his brain. “I think I might have heard of the Yin and Yang power before. The ability to control the light and the dark. I always assumed it was one person…” Adam trailed off and looked down at his feet. He had used a third power when fighting Ciara the first timed, he had made a solid object out of nothing and made light completely disappear. He had not honestly thought about it since the fight because of the beating and because of Ciara herself. Slowly he looked up at the witch across from him. “What do you think this means?” he asked.
