Hiroshi Hon
Konohagakure Jounin, Team 6 Sensei
"Will you float on the surface like leaves ... or sink down below like stones?"
Hiroshi could only nod at Shinko´s apparent reason for skipping the introduction. Whatever the case was, they needed to move forward. Most teams were already on their missions, but Hiroshi wanted to teach his team something first - and that teamwork could compensate for a smaller arsenal of techniques in the disposal of Genin. Seeing them all tied with the rope, they took their planks. While he was tying the rope to his own waist, he observed his team. Shinko appeared to catch up, but then again, as soon as she tied the rope to her waist, she seems to be lost in herself again. At the same time, Suzume urged them to move with cold determination. Something he approved and loathed at the same time, but she was the only one to take the initiative. Something he liked to see so soon. Shizumi, too only tied the rope and waited with his plank.
Moving first, Hiroshi dropped his plank of the surface of the water and walked towards it on the surface of the water, carefully sitting down and keeping the plank balanced all the time. He assumed a meditating position on it and looked at his students." As you can all see, the plank did not move. It remained in balance without sinking or getting me wet. Why is that? I am confident in my abilities? Partially. It is because I am in balance with myself. Because I am in a state of balance, I can keep my surroundings balanced as well. The journey to finding your inner balance is a hard and turbulent one, and while I am here to help you, I can only help you with starting. The rest of the steps must be taken by each one of you personally."
Hiroshi took a brief pause and then pointed at the rope." You must be wondering why the rope, haven´t you? This exercise has two purposes. One is to teach you the importance of balance. The second is to teach you the necessity of trust in teamwork. You can keep your plank in balance by having faith in yourself. In the same way, you can keep the planks of your teammates and that of mine in balance by having faith in your team. If we will all do this exercise as it should be, we will float on the surface like leafs. If we will fail to trust each other ... we will sink like stones."
With that being said, Hiroshi mentioned his team to follow him and he started to practice the molding of chakra, forming the Ram Seal and holding it ... still perfectly in balance.
