Following along behind her superior she enters the room and looks around not seeing much. She felt it was strange that she hadn't felt anything yet. Shivers went down her spine when she looked up after the abominations were pointed out. Her eyes went wide and she bit her lower lip. She didn't even feel them right above her! What are they? They didn't feel like hollows but...they were definitely hollows....right?
Gripping her sword with her right hand she makes a small motion with her left hand as if to prepare a kido. It was a smart move because they fell down to the ground just a moment later. Thankfully it didn't dive right for her but instead opted to plant itself in front of her. Its grotesque spider-like features repulsed her. The way it moved was creepy and she didn't like it one bit when the spider walking mother trucker charged her.
"Woah there buckaroo!" She exclaims under her breath as she barely dodges out of the way of its claw. Normally her reactions are better than this but this creature was weird and alien to her. "Lets try this then..." She says slowly taking a leap backwards and holding out her left hand. "Bakudou one, sai." She uses an experimental bakudou on the creature to see its effects. This is the first bakudou but still a strong one.
Jolting at the sound of the blast she looked around wide eyed for a moment. She didn't sense anything beforehand...which was strange to her. She wondered if this facility is able to block reiatsu sensing. That would be...sort of beneficial to her in a way. Perhaps she will get a good nights sleep. But now isn't the time to think about that! It seems we have an intruder and its so me kind of hollow. A twinge of fear makes her shiver for a moment but it was hardly noticeable.
Gripping her sword that resets behind her on her hips she notices her classmates rushing head long into the danger. She felt somewhat ashamed at her bashfulness in the face of danger. Though...there was little to no actual nervousness between anyone. Maybe this wasn't a powerful foe after all. The image of the captain general arriving all banged up put her in high alert. Gulping once she makes her way down the hallway after her former classmates and puts all her effort into sensing the reiatsu of the area. She wanted to get a better handle on its power level before taking it on.
Shiroko watched as many of her classmates made their way to the new barracks. Not that she herself would admit this to others readily but she was particularly bad at directions. She can sense reiatsu well so she followed where the energies of her classmates were heading. Although she managed to run into several dead ends on the way that stalled her progress. After the third time of walking around a corner that should lead her in the right direction only to find a big wall in her way she began to let her feelings surface. She puffed her cheecks and made a small x with her mouth as her normally pale complexion turns a few shades pink into red and she balls her fingers to make fists.
"This...is...just unreasonable." she murmurs to herself. Looking to the left and to the right she doesn't see anyone and so she makes the leap up onto the wall and simply subverts all of the maze like aspects of the seireitei and b-lines it for the location where almost everyone else has already arrived. "No...I'm late...." she moans.
Upon actually arriving she see's the open door that leads downwards and a few small flags start to come up but she makes due and climbs down. She catches the tail end of the explanation given by Nemeri. Apparently prodigies exist and are rare but can be genetically mass produced. For better or worse each of the individuals in this company are people who have been affected by this experiment and have developed aberrant abilities that surpass the normal every day abilities of the common NPC shinigami that make up the majority of the soul society.
"Um..." she hesitantly raises her hand. "I have a few questions. When did this 'gene' get introduced? Did it simply advance potentially latent talent within us or....?" She remembers that the basis for anything that made her special was her ability to sense reiatsu. However this sense comes from an abnormally high reiatsu absorption rate. This rate at which she sucked the life out of her surroundings caused her a great deal of grief when living in the rukongai.
Gonna get mine in tonight. You see a few days ago I posted and well when I checked again today it wasn't there. I don't know if it was a glitch in the system or if my internet did something stupid but I am re-writing my post now.
I'll wait to post my character here till you get the first post down.
Name: Murasaki Koreiko
Sex: Female
Species: Fennec Fox faunus
She is 145 cm tall (4'9) and proportionally light. She is 16 years old and has a bit of a complex about how she hasn't "filled out" into her ideal body shape and is beginning to worry. So she says her height is 5'3 because if you count her ears and her
thats a bout how tall she is.
Background: (will update more on this) Menagerie is her hometown. She comes from a long line of fox faunus. She is the only child and has inherited her family's naginata techniques.
Her family runs a shrine in Menageire for the god of light. She comes from a family of priestesses but she doesn't have any real desire to settle down and worship. She would rather have an adventure. Thus she set out to become a huntress against her mother's wishes. Her father was a human man and she has never met him. All she has of him is a picture she found of a man with her mother from before she was born. When she confronted her mother about the picture she was told to never bring it up again. However her rebellious side is strong and so she still has the photo with her as she goes around with her huntress duties.
When she heard about this mist/fog that is turning people to grim she felt a call to action. She hoped that her semblance would be of some use in trying to find someone who knew where this mist was coming from. She has seen the effects first hand and she fled. This shame of fleeing and knowing the others didn't survive haunts her.
Weapon: Her naginata. It is her family's traditional weapon. It doesn't transform but the bulky slot just behind the blade holds dust and she can fire 8 dust shots from the tip of the polearm underneath the blade. However she usually uses purple dust to create a flame that assists her in damaging the Grimm she wishes to destroy as well as disorientate people.
Semblance: Telepathy. She works best in a team and a team works best with her. She can link up telepathic bonds with people to make a 2 way radio-like connection. She can string multiple of these together to make a web of communication possible between a team. However the more people in it the harder it becomes to maintain. Also the distance plays a key role. She is pretty clear for about a mile out. Further than that it gets hazy. If she makes a telepathic bond with someone and it isn't broken but simply goes out of range all one needs to do is come back into range for them to re-connect.
She can pick up some surface thoughts of those around her if she listens intently. To those not actively attempting to hide their thoughts from her and are sufficiently near her will give off their general emotional state as well as vague terms of what is going on. For example if someone is worried about a test she will understand that they are anxious/worried and may hear terms such as "test" "math" "teachers name" "different profanities" but not complete sentences. It can also be misleading such as if someone is afraid they left the oven on she will sense "fear' and may hear things like "fire" "homelessness" ect. She would have to do some detective work to put together what the hell they meant.
