I see you like stalking too eh? Just know that while you're reading this, I'm reading all your posts from 5 months ago and silently judging your taste. Ha Ha. Or not.
Bah, look at all those posts. Why I'm just sitting here playing games like a chum. Well, as for people not showing up, maybe you should give them a nudge. Some don't subscribe to the interest check, so they might have missed it
Perhaps a hint at his heritage, Kaisen sports striking blue eyes and blond hair, almost the color of sand. He is tall, standing around 6 feet, but gangly, all wiry muscles and sinew.
Often seen in his hunter garb, consists of simple linen clothes, a shawl, leather boots and gauntlets.
AGE— 21 Bonded for 6 years. GENDER— Male
HISTORY— The Kylan was originally fishermen from the island of Kendrigan, settled down in Caerel after losing their ship in a freak storm. However, the years hadn’t been kind to them; after almost a century, his father was the sole surviving member of the bloodline. He met and married Kaisen’s mother, a skilled huntress and rider of a mighty Black Knight. A year later, Kaisen was born in a cosy cottage bordering the swamp. He grew up there, though his was not a very easy childhood. At the age of three, he lost his father to the swamp, the man just came home delirous with swamp fever and passed away a few days later. His mother raised him alone, and when he came of age, she began to teach him the art of the hunter. She used to take him along on her trips, letting him ride her Black Knight as they stalked across the forest floor. He took to hunting like fish to water, and soon enough was able to watch after himself when his mother needed to go on prolonged trips. Looking up to her, Kaisen wanted nothing more than a Black Knight of his own. However, as his thirteen birthday came and went, no hatchlings bonded with him, despite the fact that he was always presented whenever a new clutch of eggs hatched.
It was two more years before he found Wisp in the jungle. By then, his mother had retired from hunting altogether, due to a newly acquired injury. She opened a shop in town, selling leather and clothing. Kaisen made good use of what she taught him though, and he became a hunter himself. Despite his deadly aim, Kaisen’s age and lack of experience prevented him from going off by himself. Instead, he often joined up with hunting parties, getting a share of profit from whatever they managed to kill. One day, when he was climbing up a tree to get to a better vantage point, he noticed an enormous egg lying in what appeared to be a nest made out of vines. It was far too large to be a bird’s and upon closer inspection, he recognized it for what it was- a dragon’s egg. Wild dragons were not unheard of, so like any sensible person, he decided to take it back to the breeders. Wisp chose that exact moment to break out of his eggshell prison, and immediately, he latched onto Kaisen. They had been inseparable ever since.
The drought hit Caerel hard, and Kaisen was there to witness its destruction first hand. The swamp was drying up, mud cracked and crumbled beneath his feet. The forest, his and Wisp’s hunting ground was slowly dying, leaves turned a sickly shade of yellow, streams faded into patches of dirt and the games they used to chase either died out or deserted their home in search of water. PERSONALITY— At first glance, Kaisen seems nice enough. He is friendly and approachable, enjoying socializing and meeting new people. But of course, he isn’t all smiles and sunshine. His upbringing has taught him to be pragmatic and level-headed, keeping his wits sharp and his arrows ready. Becoming his acquaintances is easy, for he relishes in the opportunity to see new faces, learn new things; however, earning his trust is hard, and his loyalty, well, arguably he’s only loyal to himself. While he appears to be easy-going enough and doesn’t mind following orders, he can be stubborn when it comes to things of his expertise, or at least he thinks it is. He takes pride in his skills, something he had worked so hard for, and does not take unconstructive criticism, or any criticism for that matter, very well. TALENTS/SKILLS—
Expert Marksman – One of the best archers you can find in Caerel, granted it’s not a very big island, Kaisen knows what to do with a bow. He is skilled with many types of bows, even used crossbows in some occasions, but especially favors recurve bows, as it is easier to use them on dragonback.
Competent Acrobat – As someone who chases and kills animals for a living, Kaisen must be quick on his feet. He is able to navigate through the forest floor and canopy fairly easy, with or without the aid of his draconic companion.
The Stalker – Another necessary skill for any hunter worth his salt, Kaisen is able to identify tracks and follow his mark quite efficiently. When he does not want to be found, you won’t find him. Unless you know where to look, of course.
FLAWS/WEAKNESSES—
Civilian – For all his skills and experience, Kaisen is not a fighter. He doesn’t have to be, with his chosen career and all. So aside from a few scuffles with a few of his older colleagues, he doesn’t really have any combat experience at all.
Glass Canon – The thing about animals is that they are animals. They don’t wear armors, nor do they scream profanities at your mother when you stick arrows in them. Their charges are predictable and most importantly, they don’t carry sharpened steal when they do. Kaisen knows how to deal with a charging hog; however the same can’t be said with an armed man.
Backwater Brat – Kaisen is out of his elements the moment he stepped out of the woods.
EXTRAS—
He likes apples and cheese. They are great, and even better together.
Wears a Black Knight teeth on his neck.
Has a tree house somewhere in the swamp.
Wisp
GENDER— Male
BREED— Starscale
APPEARANCE— His scales are the color of the night sky, with swirling patterns associating with his breed. Also a bit on the larger side.
PERSONALITY— Curious and friendly, but that’s where his similarities with his rider ends. Whereas Kaisen is down-to-earth, Wisp has always been a bit of a dreamer, not uncommon with his breed. He keeps Kaisen from overstressing, reassures his rider every time paranoia creeps into his thoughts. EXTRAS—
Is a graceful flyer, loves dashing and twisting midair, also prone to random insane maneuvers. Good thing Kaisen has a sturdy saddle and a good stomach.
Will eat mostly anything, but his favorite is roasted wild geese with plenty of apple syrup.
Lovely, I will put my character in the cs tab right away. Also, questions time. How's Caerel military? With the current state of foreign affair, I don't think a proper army is needed, but what about the police force? Each fief has its own? Also, another things about dragonriders. With the way you put it, dragonriders appear to be a separate faction. So does everyone who bonded with a dragon belong to the dragonriders? Or you must sign up first? And well, you did mention that dragons require lots of food, so every dragonrider gets free cows everyday? Or does that privilege belong only to official members of the dragonriders?
