The City of Swords lies at the heart of this world: its wealth and power renown to all, its foundries and buildings stretching far beyond the eye. For many citizens, there is no life beyond its walls. For many citizens, they have never even seen these walls. Upon its seat lies the Lord of Swords, Philius Garnax, the all-powerful monarch of this land, ruling with an iron fist. Backing his rights to the throne are the five Houses of the Guard (House Crow, Raven, Rook, Jackdaw, and Vulture) – their loyalty unquestionable, their limits only beneath the words of their Lord. It is this gruesome hierarchy that terrorizes its citizens: poverty, famine, public execution, torture, slavery. These things keep the outnumbering seas of the common people in their place, for the foundries smokes must never quench – the swords must keep coming, the Lords fist never loosening, the cycle must go on. But today, a new power is rising. A power the Lords eye has yet to spy from his colossal tower in the center of the city. The people have been enslaved for too long. Change is coming, and we are that change.
(This is fantasy plot but there are no magic or supernatural entities or powers: primarily based on medieval custom yet completely fictional)
I will be online Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays between 4:30pm and 11:00pm (UK time - UTC+00:00) So that will be the time for posting.

- Responses can be as long or as short as you see appropriate (I was going to ask we refer to our characters in the first person, however I know this will be confusing, so 3rd person please)
