Dehumanized: Theme Pointers
OOC

Every story needs a setting and every setting needs a theme. Without a setting a story can’t take place and a setting without a theme, cohesion can’t be found. A setting is the time and location a story takes place in and the theme provides the design and mood. Dehumanized is set in a Post-Apocalyptic (time) America (location). The land and its life bears the scars of nuclear warfare. Craters from the bombing and mutation due to fallout our quiet prevalent. The world is cold and the sky ever sunless but life persist and adapted to this new world; turning mutation into strengths, deformities in to benefits, animals into beast and Men… it turned men into monsters (design and mood).

The world of Dehumanized is bleak, gritty and merciless. A major theme of the RP is mutations, allowing characters certain abilities yet suffering from unwanted and unpleasant deformities. The climate is cold and the skies near permanently overcast. It’s not only men you should be worried about but also the beasts that lurks within the ruined world.

Always try to gear towards these designs (please only use these as reference):

which begs the questionwhere exactly does this rp take place?obviously somewhere near water and city ruinsbecause those are two things that humans love to congregate around

Character starting points are all up to you, as long as the story is set in America.
Easy now guys, we don't know even how the RP will start :P

I've been thinkingI might start Isam off on a small sailboatlike he found one abandoned in a harbor and was like "well this is mine"he's not very good at sailing because iraq isn't exactly abundant with oceansand sailing one of those boats by yourself is fairly difficult so he mainly sticks near the shore i'm tell you guys this because i didn't feel like writing it into my bio

No Probs :)

I'm not too picky about mechs. I'll be happy as long as I get to punch something in the face.

Lols *two thumbs up*

Definately the the first one, and the additional arms can be removed, I said so in the CSEDIT: Also, I'm a bit new to Casual Roleplay, so I've been trying to get into more RPs, like this one

Ah okay :) If you don't mind some pointers, I can give you some neat reference. The theme we hope to attain for Dehumanize goes along the lines of The Book of Eli (Action), The Last of Us (Mutation and Action) and I Am Legend (Lifestyle). We could include the The Road but it's a little too depressing, but it does catch the weather described by Penguin. There is also Fallout 3 to consider though a little sci-fi when it comes to the armor despite that great scenery. We can't forget Wasteland 2, the concept art are pretty amazing. There's Resident Evil 3: Extinction as well, just change the zombies into mutant wasps, I bet that'll crap everybodies pants worst than dead things.

There is many more really, but the first 3 titles (+- The Road) are pretty much the direction Dehumanize is driving towards.

Don't worry about it Rookery, let the GM do their thing. Besides, it isn't like this is an anime. Anyone that's a decent shot could take him out, just like any other character. He can't take out bullets with his swords or anything, and pistols are really only effective at close range anyways.

Oh..uhm.. Penguin asked me to Co-GM.....

He's been wandering the wasteland for 20 years... when you wander for that long, you find things, and lots of it

Imo, that's kinda a weak explanation. Also, I think having both preceptor mutations and additional limbs sort of imbalance.

P.S.: Honestly, I don't see any draw-backs to Jinsoku-sama. I suggest including some here and there to make the character a little more 3 Dimensional.

P.S.S.: By saying large Katana, do you mean something like this or this? Cause if it's the latter, it doesn't suit the realism this RP is aiming for.....

What about Full metal panic's mech design? They are the same as Titan Fall's just without an built in AI

Kinda still follows the Assault Suits series designs and I already told my opinion regarding the matter.....
