If she admits to it, Lisa lose credibility. If a player figures it out somehow (without Lisa admitting to it), they lose credibility. Because of the secret being instant canon, I would assume you guys would want to make the statement something big. Something big is always hard to believe hence the lose of credibility. But no worries, one can gain the credibility back. The whole point of the secret is to be an A-Bomb.

P.S. In the case of a player figuring it out somehow and Lisa admitting to it afterwards, both of them lose credibility.

Konica said So someone will get penalized if the secret is revealed? Don't other players want to find out what the secret is?

If you reveal it, you lose credibility i.e. your posts has less weight in canonization. This is also the case with other players. It's suppose to be the drawback because the secret is canon no matter what the contents are. Think it so, because you didn't told the cops before hand, the cops would think that you either are keeping more secrets or are lying (which isn't the case) and won't trust you as much. If another player reveals the secret it would be the same scenario.

P.S. I got no beef with anyone cause I'm a vegetarian.

Scenario Information

The following events are canonized: Reed Norman (TheRider), Lisa Daniels (Konica), Lilith Adams (Silent Observer) and Cooper Harley’s (Polyphemus) interaction. Lisa Daniels interaction with the sirens and Officer Richard Harmsworth (NPC) is also canonized. Lisa Daniels (Konica) also received “Secretes” plot-point. She’s hiding something relating to the victim, Maria Todd. If she resolves this plot-point by revealing it to a player(s) and/or NPC, she losses credibility. If another player resolves this plot-point by uncovering Lisa’s secrete, they lose credibility. The contents of the secret are considered true hence it’s immediately canonized. The secret may not be a final statement i.e. the identity of the killer. It may however create an evidence that would connect another player to the murder. Party-Animal Mystery has been updated with Siren Sisters Sub-Mystery.

Current Mysteries:

The Party at Manor: It’s the talk of the town, a high class party upstate in a place called Manor. The home town of the victim is getting a lot of attention. A lot of young adults and party goers are hitting the scene. Rumor has it that big time suppliers and dealers will be present as well. Use this scenario to further the plot. Many outcomes can be achieved depending on the actions of your characters.

Main Mysteries

The Blank Account: Someone is posting private images of the victim in Norman Reed’s forum. Is this person connected to the murder? Due to the plot development, only Norman Reed and Lisa Daniels are allowed to pursue this mystery. Other players can pursue this mystery if they provided the appropriate backstory i.e. a setting which would connect their character to the mystery.

Goody-Two-Shoes: Maria Todd was living two lives. On one end, she was a princess and on the other she was a deviless. Explore Maria’s past by visiting her hometown up state. Players can interview the victim’s parents (take note: whatever they say to a player character, they already have said to the police) or investigate the church Maria was attending. In the light of recent developments, the church has shown signs of being an extremely conservative sect. The possibility of it being a Rupture Cult. Players may further inquire to progress this storyline.

Party-Animal: Maria Todd was living two lives. On one end, she was a princess and on the other she was a deviless. Explore the rumors surrounding Maria’s university life. Any setting taking place in a party is viable. Certain outcomes can be achieve if the party is at the frat house in 5th Avenue. Due to recent developments, the Siren Sisters have shown a connection with the fraternity in 5th Avenue. They are a possible source of information regarding the victim’s night life.

Reed Norman (TheRider) – “Acquainted with the Police: Informant” Reed Norman has a history with the police as an informant. He has greater credibility but if he comes under suspicion, he is not able to defunct or shift it himself. Other players are still able to do so. “Connected: Lisa Daniels” The Police are aware of his connection with Lisa Daniels. He may be required to elaborate on their relationship in a future time.

Lisa Daniels (Konica) – “Person of Low Interest” Lisa Daniels has resolved her “Person of Interest” plot-point. They are now aware of his rap sheet, last known address and face. “All-points Bulletin (APB)” The detectives put out an APB due to him being a person of high interest. Cooper is more likely to get arrested when in public.

Chris Richards (Liriia) – “Person of Interest” Chris Richards is sought after the detective to clarify his/her relationship with the victim.

Personality & Background: The victim comes from old money up-state. Her family is rich and conservative, regularly attends church. According to the statement of Lisa Daniels (so called ex-best friend), the church’s pastor is devout and Maria might be part of a group. She also may have attended few religious healings (Ms. Daniels states that the religious healings were more like an indoctrination event). During the time the victim and Ms. Daniels were close, presumably in high school, she was described as your average teenager, gets good grades and parties occasionally. Ms. Daniels describe her as responsible and a social butterfly. After their falling out, which was due to the victim trying to convert Ms. Daniels (Ms. Daniels also stated that Maria might have been brainwashed by the pastor), negative rumors started circulating regarding the victim. According to the statement of Lilith Adams (believe to be a regular in the Universities party scene), Maria was a party animal which bare a stark contrast to Ms. Daniels statement. One can say that responsible doesn’t describe Maria.

Note: The victim was taking up a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts.

CRIME SCENE REPORT

The body was found in an alley between two campus buildings by a janitor named Herman Reese. According to the statement of Herman Reese, he seen or heard nothing prior to the discovery (requires further elaboration). The responding officers were Richard Harmsworth, badge #22205 – unit #6, and Sam Peters, badge #60465 – unit #6. They followed standard procedure when securing the scene (requires further elaboration). The alley way was wide enough for a vehicle to pass through but tight enough for a driver to prefer the longer way around. The body was found at the center of the alley way, near where the dumpster were located. No personal items were found within the vicinity of the body. There was a small pool of blood under the victim. The Universities staff were kind enough to identify the body as Maria Todd. The body was transported to Pathology before I arrived.

Forensics’ preliminary report states that the crime scene was relatively clean despite its location. No trace evidences and only the finger prints of the janitor and responding officers were found. There were however few noteworthy aspects. 1) The victim’s hair showed signs of bleaching and dying. The dying process seems to halt mid-way. 2) The victim was found clothed but stain and fold patterns suggest the murderer either change or clothed the victim post mortem. 3) Liver mortis suggests that the victim died within two days from the body was found (see Autopsy & Lab Report for further details). 4) There were no noteworthy marks in the victim’s body asides from a stab wound on her abdomen, just above the naval. According to the pathologies at the scene, the wound was deep enough to severe the spin nerves of the victim, causing paralyses and in addition, she would have bled more profusely than what the scene entails (see Autopsy & Lab Report for further details). This led me to concluded that the victim was murdered elsewhere and was ‘dumped’ in the alley way.

After examining the crime scene, I began canvasing the area. My partner, Tomias van der Westhuizen was running late and the area was too large for me to canvas alone so I requested assistance from the available officers at hand, Richard Harmsworth and Sam Peters. We gathered statements from multiple individuals and listed down possible persons of interest.

Cause of Death: Asphyxiation due to a tear on the diaphragm. Notes: No other visible injuries found on the victim’s body. Base on wound analyses, the victim was stab twice, first with a smaller blade and then a longer blade. The initial stab tear her diaphragm and severed the nerves on her spine, causing paralyses. She was then stab again post mortem on the same location.

Time of Death: Inconclusive, somewhere between 48 hours to when the body was found. State of the body Indicates that she was held in a hot and humid location prior to discovery.

Toxicology: Various Street and Prescription Drugs.

Other Observations: 1) The victim’s hair shows signs of bleaching and dying. The dying process is incomplete and only half of her hair was done. 2) No DNA evidence gathered under the victim’s finger nails or anywhere else on her body.

After receiving the text from his partner, Richard immediately headed towards the entrance hallway where his partner was waiting for him. Sam stood at the side of a doorway, a beer on hand, an eye on the staircase and another down a corridor. Rick approached him and relieved him of his beer, taking a mouthful before putting it aside. Fun time is over. They need to be sharp to do their jobs. The PoIs might get away if they don’t pay attention. Rick losing sight of the dark haired girl in the crowd is proof that a look and see is not as simple as it sounds, especially with so much people present.

“Give me the down low.” Rick asked his partner.

“Caught sight of guy looking like one of the mug shot the detective sent us. He came in with some chick and it didn’t took long before someone intercepted her. I wasn’t really paying attention since neither of them were in the lists but the damn mugger followed them up the stairs. I was waiting for you before going up there. From the way he rushed up to them, I think he has a gun and I ain’t have a mood for a shootout without backup. And who knows how many friends he got up there.”

“Good call. I notice you keep looking down the corridor, what’s up with that?”

Sam continued describing a drunk girl who believes was with the guy who intercepted the chick but he was unsure. After a few quick probes, Rick believed that the drunk girl and the girl he was following earlier were the same one. They’ll need to split up and have eyes on both. He told his partner about the plan he had in mind and he reluctantly agreed. As long as he doesn’t draw attention to himself, he’ll be okay. Sam took the trio upstairs since he knows how they look like. Rick continued searching for the short haired girl, who turned out be a lightweight. It didn’t took long for him to find the room she was led to – according to his partner – the girls were obviously having fun on the couch. The officer quickly surveyed the situation. Beer, hard liquor, cocaine rows, ecstasy pills, and other drugs laid on the side table. Private room, four girls only. The ginger was the first to notice him. She flashed a smile that only spelled trouble.

I’m not looking for touble, dammit.Richard thought as he closed the distance and grab the short haired girl away from them. The sirens weren’t happy to have their play thing to be taken away and shot a few curses towards the officer. Most were your standard swear words but a few were a little bit more interesting. What stood out the most were probably references of the ‘5th Ave brothers’ and how he’ll be dead before he knows it. Rick was away from the room just as quick as he entered it, happy to put some space between the banshees and him. The short haired girl was mumbling about secretes as he drag her along looking for a place for them to have a chat. He couldn’t catch anything coherent and he hoped that she was lucid enough for them to talk some sense. Else he has to stash her somewhere until she was. Rick thoughts drifted to his partner, wondering if has better luck with the PoI.

Not really, the penalty is called "The Secrete" and I'm thinking of adding another one relating to the sirens (Party-Animal Mystery, seems to be an interesting connection - if you guys decided there is any). Makes your character more, let's say, engaging since the others have a plot-point/penalty which handicaps them in some way.
